We have an 8 year old daughter and a 10 year old son and we stayed at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres for a week in Jan 2020. Andy and Abby absolutely made our trip a 10 out of 10. They were both extremely engaged and enthusiastic with their jobs. You could tell Andy and Abby love working with kids and making their vacations special. There was a specific plan everyday for all of the Kids Club activities and our kids took part in so many; from crafts or trivia in the Kids Club to diving for rings in the pool and building sandcastles on the beach they enjoyed every minute of our holiday and were both very sad when it came time to leave. For my wife and I, it was great that our kids wanted to spend time in the Kids Club with Andy and Abby so we could also have some time to ourselves ;) We highly recommend Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres and if you have kids under 13 we highly recommend having them meet Andy and Abby in the Kids Club. Thanks for making our vacation so much fun for our whole family!

We’ve been here about a week, the entertainment has been awesome! Yun is our favorite & provides so much knowledge about the resort and makes sure everyone is having a good time. Our rooms have been nice, the food is okay, there are some aesthetic issues but the variety of activities and of course the beach is a plus!

OK, so let me first say that I won this trip for 2, but would have gladly paid full price. This is my opinion of the good, the bad and the ugly... THE GOOD: Check in was fast and easy and our bags made it up to our room within 5-10 minutes with a very cheerful bellboy. The room was extremely nice, modern and lots of space...(a few splatters of grout and paint need to be tidied up, and I'm certain it will be, all in good time). The mattress, pillows and comforters were all top notch, had the most cozy siestas! Loved having the jacuzzi on the deck, we used it twice. We really liked the ease of using our all inclusive bracelet as our room key (though they do break fairly easily, but are easily and quickly replaced) The staff are INCREDIBLE...a few that made impressions on our vacation were, Angel (best bartender!!!), Maria, Fernando and Jun. Though everyone was willing to go above and beyond to make our holiday memorable. They work hard and always had a smile and "OLA" for us. The food at the Flavors buffet was really good, there was always something delicious waiting for me to try. For dinner I loved that they freshly grilled whatever it is that you wanted. For breakfast the fresh fruit was delicious and plentiful. We also really enjoyed the crepe station, the only thing they seemed to struggle with was getting us tea (coffee was always offered very quickly but for some reason tea would take so long that it come at the end of our breakfast). The Mar House lunch buffet was also awesome with lots of choices. Again, everything is grilled fresh for you so you could eat it hot! Big salad selections, you can pick and choose what you want or you can pick one of several pre-made salad choices. And for dessert they have yummy ice creams (at least 10 different flavors!!) My favorite A-La-Carte was the Japanese Tepanyaki style dinner, it was super tasty and soooo much food (go with an appetite). The cocktails here are spectacular, top shelf booze used (no gasoline tasting drinks here) and the bartenders actually care to make you the best drink possible, they even dab it on the back of their hand to make sure it tastes right before sending it out. They will create you some totally unique and interesting drinks if you let them and are open-minded. The grounds are beautiful and as it is new, are getting nicer day by day. We even saw several trees planted while there, should fill in nicely over the next year or so, I do think it could use a few more tropical flowers, but again, I'm sure that's all coming in time. The beach is so gorgeous, with soft, soft white sand. The staff are out there early every morning with a tractor raking up the seaweed and other debris. The water is that tropical blue we all dream of, it was a tad chilly when we were there, but it is their winter, and can I really complain, it's not something that is at all controllable. The staff down on the beach blow my mind, they run to bring you fresh towels (several of them for your comfort) and the wait staff are quick to take orders and bring (and keep bringing) drinks down to you. I had an upset stomach one day and the waiter even brought down a chamomile tea to me...with honey!!! Oh and the Wifi is spot-on here, you can access it pretty much throughout the entire resort. THE BAD: The construction stage was not well cleaned up after...paint splatters everywhere and grout chunks on walls. Though these are things I notice easily as I am picky with quality finishings, to me 5 star should be immaculate. And I'm sure over time these things will get dealt with. The evening entertainment is lacking, the shows are kind of cheesy and not that exciting (not to take away from the hard work the staff put into them). We really wanted to see some PURE TALENT...whether it's some guy beating a bucket to make drum noises or an overly excited violin player doing covers to today's top hits, anything would have been better then what was there. We took a ferry to Isle Mujeres and on the ferry there was a guy that was playing an electric ukulele, a pan flute and another flute and singing, and he was fabulous!! They need to get someone like that in the lobby bar to entertain. I didn't like that the cleaning staff could come in at anytime, as the "do not disturb" feature on the door panel seemed not to work. They did come in at one very inopportune time, which was a little uncomfortable. The room service for dinner was BAD, we ordered two pastas an a piece of cheesecake, and it took approximately 1 3/4 hours to get it, we ordered just past 6 and were eating close to 8pm. Plus when it arrived there was no cheesecake. And the quality of the food was subpar...just stick to the buffet and a-la-cartes. THE UGLY: There was really nothing that was all that terrible at this resort, though to me the biggest fail here is that the pool water was much too cold. I don't understand why in this day and age there were no solar panels to heat these pools. And I know that as the capacity of the hotel goes up that they will then be able to heat the pools but it was disappointing for our trip that we didn't even go in as it wasn't an enjoyable temperature. Overall, this was a fabulous resort that, in no time at all will be earning that 5 STAR rating, and maybe even jump to 4 Diamond. I genuinely believe you will always find people that find the negative in life, and I myself can be very picky about food and accommodations, but looking at this place objectively, this place is going to be top notch, so visit now while you can still afford it!!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can't thank everyone at Majestic Elegance enough for making my holiday wonderful!!

We were there from Jan 11-25. It is a stunningly beautiful location and design, and it will be even better when they are finished with construction, do some paint and tile touch ups, and have completed their hiring process. The food was mostly excellent, as were the serving staff. Only had a not so great meal at the a la carte breakfast restaurant one day. But their selection and quality of food in the buffets is well done and delicious. A little more organization and more serving staff will improve the a la cartes in general, but that's not my priority so I won't go into detail here. (I've never been wowed by any resort a la carte we've been to, ever.) The drinks at the lobby bar are as good as it gets! Best resort drinks we've ever had. The bartenders are well trained and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. We were also impressed by their showmanship and hospitality. I would name names (ahem Allen) but they were all very good and I don't want to exclude anyone. The concierges we met (including the butlers Miriam and Pillar) and especially the club pool and beach concierges were absolutely great, friendly and hard working. The beach guys were especially impressive with their great service despite the long hot walks they do non-stop in soft sand to give guests towels and bring them drinks! We spent most of our time during the day at the club pool. In some of the slow times we got the opportunity to chit chat with some pool concierges. We enjoyed talking with JoseMaria and Fernando about some of the amazing cultural sites in the area like the Maya Ruins Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, Coba, and Uxmal. They also told us about their home states and the beautiful diverse country of Mexico. Along with their colleagues, Raphael, Alfonso, and Andres, they made us very welcome. The entertainment people were among the most engaging we've met on any vacation. You've probably read reviews about Crazy Cindy Lauper being awesome and that's 100% correct! They are all great and they seem to be there day and night making sure people have fun. We did pool aerobics with Cindy, Jun, and Jordan most days. We enjoyed playing bingo in the afternoon with Cindy along with card games and board games during quiet times at the club pool. People with more physical ambitions also have fun options like volley ball, water polo and big-beach-ball soccer at the beach and other pools with these great guys and ladies. A little more work on some of the construction details, hiring a few more general cleaning people for things like cleaning room windows (salty air messes up ocean side windows pretty quickly), and a little more organization in the a la cartes will definitely bring this resort to a 5 star/Excellent level in no time. We spent most of our time in the adults-only club area, so I can't comment on the family aspect of the resort. Thanks to the great employees, the gorgeous surroundings and the delicious food and drinks we had a great time and would love to go back there!
