Visitor tax from Canada

943hillj on Apr 10, 2024

we are going on Sunday April 14 from Toronto via AC. Just an FYI, you do not need to pay the visitor tax (I called AC and they confirmed)...it's already included. Call your airline to confirm. I will do a full review after our trip. I am looking forward to this trip.

Our Favorite All-Inclusive Resort

sixdeep357 (Springfield, Illinois) on Apr 08, 2024

Everything in life is relative, meaning, your experience depends upon your point of view and context. My perspective regarding Park Royal is that it's my favorite place to visit. We go back every year. We love Park Royal because the ocean out front is the world's largest swimming pool. I love the water, and this is the best all-inclusive property for free diving and snorkeling. The aquatic wildlife is abundant, there are coral reefs a stone's throw from the shore, and if you are a skilled swimmer, you can even dive down to the remains of a wrecked airplane. I've snorkeled at least a mile north along the coast. The pool never ends! While swimming is my favorite hobby on vacation, my wife's favorite hobby is reading. She sits on the edge of the deck overlooking the ocean and reads. It's a beautiful, stunning view, and the massive cruise ships parked out front add to the wonderful vacation vibe. If swimming and reading do not appeal to you, I would not recommend Park Royal. The ocean-view rooms at this hotel are very nice, and those views are wonderful. The food is good and the service is excellent. At night, the sports bar is fun. We enjoy everything about this resort, but if you're interested in fine dining, great nightly entertainment, and lavish rooms with lots of bells and whistles, you might consider other options. That is also true if you love the beach. There's not much of that at Park Royal. But if you are a swimmer, snorkeler, diver, etc., Park Royal is a no-brainer. If you enjoy adult-only pool bars overlooking the ocean and quiet time reading a book, then you might fall in love with Park Royal like us. We are always so excited to go and so sad to leave. We often spend many hours looking at condos and planning our retirement years. That stretch of land from Park Royal to San Miguel is my favorite place to be. Notable mentions: Thanks to Jorge, Miguel, and Antonio for great service. Keep it up!!

Love the staff

Travel534876 (Brooklin, Canada) on Apr 07, 2024

This was our 4th time at this resort. It’s been amazing, but this last time was not the best. Bar Staff was as always amazing, but restaurant service was bad. We went to two of the restaurants and waited for 10-15 minutes with no service at all. But I have to say I lost my phone and wallet and it was returned to me. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. It’s an amazing resort and I would recommend everyone to try it.

No.

Hard beds, AC not working, food is atrocious, drinks are not good, uneven pathways, minimal lounge chairs, small beach area. Avoid this "resort" and spend extra money for something worth your money. We are currently sitting in a 76 degree room, because all of the resort AC is out. Was told to wait an hour. Our door and patio door are wide open to create a breeze. Unfortunately not sleeping due to having to keep our door open. All of the restaurants are inedible, unless you're really hungry. I suggest finding for outside of the resort.

Excellent, perfect stay

OriginalFritz (Canton, Georgia) on Apr 03, 2024

We booked last minute and booked scuba next door at Julio Kin Scuba. We knew nothing about the resort or the quality level. We’ve stayed at several Hyatt Zilara, excellence resorts and others. This is equally as good as those from a food, food variety, service, amenities and pools and bars. The beach is nice but a little small , but great snorkeling off the beach. Our room was perfect and compared to Zilara or a normal Marriott but with a nice balcony. We can’t wait to come back.
