DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton

Stayed here as i was in town for business. Felt the 3 day stay deserved more than a standard room. Booked a Junior Suite. Great layout, near top floor, and had great amenities in the room and hotel. Dining at the lobby bar was great and staff went above and beyond. The downfall, and this is important for me, was the shower. Poor flow and volume made for an unenjoyable shower and definitely made the stay acceptable at the discounted rate, full price for this suite and I would have been rotted. Will Stay again..

We came to the Mayfield Dinner theatre for some friends’ birthday. We stayed the weekend to spend time with friends during this “covid restricted, everything is down-sized” time. The hotel staff is fantastic!! From the time we checked in, until we left, the front desk staff ensured we were treated like royalty! They checked in regularly to see if we needed anything to make our stay more pleasant. Anything we needed was delivered to our rooms, the safety protocols were top-notch and the breakfast was delicious!! We will definitely be staying here in the future!

I remember this as the Mayfield Inn and Suites. Hilton did a super nice job on this hotel. We got upgraded to a Hospitality Suite and it was amazing. The food for breakfast was so filling, reasonably priced, and very good. Highly recommended!

The room itself was ok, but the constantly flashing fire/smoke detector right by the bed was a nuisance. The room darkening blinds did not come together at the middle, so I was kept awake by a shaft of light from the parking lot. The air conditioner worked well, but each time it came on, sounded just like the door closing, which is distressing to a woman traveller. Sadly, I stayed here 3 years ago and had many of the same concerns, and they have not been rectified. Also, while I absolutely love the warm cookies on arrival, they contain walnuts and other allergens. Is it possible to offer a warm cookie to guests without the potential death threat? I know you can't please everyone, but nuts are just a no-go, and it would be particularly disappointing to a child-guest to not receive a cookie due to it containing nuts. You know better, now do better!

We stayed here for one night to be close to West Edmonton Mall. It's an excellent hotel, well-maintained and cared for as an older hotel. We stayed in a ninth floor room, a one king bed suite. We have a five year old so it's nice to have a separate living room, with pullout couch. The en suite bathroom is also a nice amenity to have. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was excellent, from check-in to check-out. I was able to check-in early without problem and without a hassle. Staff checked in with me via text message, which was also a nice touch. Service the next morning in the restaurant was great as well. The breakfast buffet (complimentary as an Honors Gold member) was outstanding. Food was plentiful and everything breakfast was available. Check out was quick and painless. It was also nice to have local and national newspapers readily available and easy to find in the lobby. The hotel is within minutes of food and shopping, and about a 10-15 minute drive to West Edmonton Mall. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting WEM or the western suburbs of Edmonton.
