Aston Waikiki Sunset has scheduled an upcoming Electrical and Plumbing project which may impact guest accommodations.
The upgrade to the Electrical Distribution System at the property is estimated to run until May 31, 2024.
While improvements are made to the property, there will be repair noise throughout the day. The team will take every possible measure to ensure guest comfort:
- Work is restricted to Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Some laundry rooms may be closed on various floors during the initial phase of the project. Laundry rooms will be accessible on other floors where work is not being performed.
- There will be intermittent temporary power outages throughout the project. Guests will be notified in advance for planned outages.
A fan coil replacement project will commence on April 22, 2024, and run through May 20, 2025.
- The replacement work will occur on all floors, starting on the ewa (west) side of the building.
- Work will be done by stack or unit series, starting with the 01 series until all stacks are completed.
- Unit stacks will not be occupied while work is being performed.
- Each unit stack will take approximately eight weeks to complete.
- The scope of the work includes drywall cutting and carpentry.
- Work will be limited to Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Clean, friendly and close to the beach

My husband and I spent a week at Aston Waikiki Sunset in March 2024. We read reviews so anticipated a few issues that actually did not come to pass. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious for the two of us. We had a one bedroom and the beds were quite comfortable. There was a small deck off the bedroom which was nice for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We were on the 33rd floor facing the city and mountains and the view was amazing, especially at night. The kitchen was appointed well enough to make simple meals. Everything was extremely clean and when the mid week service came the rooms were back to just like the first day we were there, they cleaned and changed all the linens! The hotel is a little dated and the carpet in the hallways could use replacement. We had absolutely no problem getting an elevator, even at busy times. I find it hard to rate a hotel like this that is clean, friendly, helpful and very roomy. It is a 5 star experience for us but then it's not like the high end hotels that are available and much more costly so I felt that 4 stars was appropriate.

Nice amenities and short walk to the beach and zoo and mini mart and shopping, and this comment section requires 200 characters minimum, so I need to write more, an rent DVDs but selection was weak, a little trouble figuring out TV service
