We always love the Kea Lani for its spacious suites. The value is fantastic, the location and the staff make this feel just like returning home. We have been to The Kea Lani many times and we are never disappointed.

My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary. I really regreted taking a chance to try different resort in Wailea. Their rooms are very very very old. Their bell staffs are great. But, they have pest issues. Their night manager and front office managers don't seem like they care at all. They think that throwing $50 should fix everything. The night manager I spoke with was just careless about my issue and was very fake. He was not empathetic at all. I also spoke with one of the Front Office managers in the morning. She was even worse and rolling her eyes at me. If you want to sleep in a pricey room with bunch of cockroaches and be treated like you are only looking for compensation for a serious issue, go to this resort. I would NEVER go back. This hotel needs to train their front office managers

Travel experience begins when you pull up to the Fairmont Kea Lani. Guests are greeted with leis. Debated on which 4-5 start hotel in Wailea will provide the best experience for adults, kids, and older parents. The Fairmont provides many of amenities for all ages, steps from the beach, 18 and over adult pool, large resort pool with water slide, and ample pool side seating. Tips: Check-in, was great and the front desk staff was outstanding(shout out to Tara)! She really made the hotel’s first impression one of the best, she had everything taken care of —- from, our bags, car, what to do in the next three hours already planned. I love that I didn’t have to think - haha! This really helped set the mood, transformation from busyness from everyday life to vacation -RELAX.;) Hotel rooms are equipped with mini fridge and microwave. Hotel provides bottled water in rooms. Room temps are wonky. Rooms are hot at night, AC is quick to cool the rooms - we were toggling turning the AC on and off throughout the night. Resort pools: Pool is open 24 hours! During the day there is pool side assistance, they’re helpful in finding open lounge chairs. Some families are smart planners and claim their spot 6-7am in morning (this is not me) by laying out their towels on chairs. Pool side cabanas are an option, check with pool attendant first, some may already be reserved. This is a cost per hour, each cabana has 4-5 lounge chairs. Long lines to use the pool slide, but the line is quick. Two jacuzzis, warm not hot. Although I like the water on the hot side. Easy access to towels and return bins. Mid-size -small baby pool. Kids pool is around 3.5-4.5 feet deep. Beach: check in before the beach steps, to get your guest card for beach lounge chairs and umbrella. No cost for this, YAY! Rent your snorkel gear outside of the resort if you plan on using for more than a hour. Hotel charges $9 per hour for regular snorkel gear. Wailea snorkel shops are competitive and charge around $15/ daily snorkel package. Outside vendor rental for kayaks, paddle boards, etc - located on beach. Charges are per hour. Single Kayak $40 per hour or $50 for a double. Not the best beach to snorkel. Although you can see some fish and a turtle or two around the reef and rocks. Fun for boogie boarding (later in the afternoon). Calm (6-9AM) and warm shallow waters. Market place: We bought our lunch here are brought it to the beach. Medium size pepp pizza is $22 and sandwiches around $13-15. We bought a case of water and juice before arriving to the resort. Times supermarket is close by, pick up snacks and drinks. Bottled drinks juice and sparkling water is $4-5 per bottle at resort. If you have a hydro bottle water and ice tea is provided next to the concierge in lobby. This is one of our top three hotels in Maui!

I was disappointed. The price for this location includes extremely long check-in lines after a long flight, rude bell service that did not bring the luggage to the room, we had to go get it. There is always someone in our room without notice. The rooms are spacious but the couch in the living room area is very hard. The bed was not comfortable. The beach and view from the room are nice but it would be worth it to stay a few hotels down for better service and comfortable beds.

We are still here and can't say enough good things. The grounds are lovely, the restaurants delicious and the views unparalleled! The staff are all clearly very happy and care about the guests and it makes for such a pleasurable overall experience. Yesterday I had asked when the Ambassador Dog would be there and they had her on site within an hour, we couldn't believe it. If you're on the fence, just book it. You'll feel at home the moment you arrive! Mahalo, Kea Lenai - Joy and Brian
