This was our third time to stay here and we had the same wonderful service and accommodations as we have always experienced. We love the setting and the great snorkeling at this location! The breakfast buffet is amazing!

    A) The food sucks. I mean, it seriously sucks. If you like muffins from 711, all wet and mushy from the freezer, you'll LOVE their "pastry" selection. And if ya like oil, lots and lots of oil, you will be over the moon about the food and the oil slick that surrounds it. Veggies are limp, old and overcooked but hey, just stick to the road-kill like everyone else and you'll be golden. Or better yet, order out, just like home. The all-day-dining is a joke. Pizza is not "all-day-dining". B) DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO THE SPA. Ok, go if you want but don't say I didn't warn you. Before your massage, do yourself a favor and check out the cover to the massage table face hole. Yeah, underneath that empty pillowcase folded over it in a triangle. Lift that up and check out what you're breathing. Mine was covered in someone else's mascara! Yeah, for one, what kind of person wears make-up to a massage? Not a very "upscale" one that's for sure. Great. So I was breathing in someone (one?) else's drool. Someone not so "sophisticated". Nice. The therapist changes the cover and guess what, the SECOND one was filthy too!! I nearly hurled my bad Kea Lani lunch all over that table. Which would've done you all a favor in the end. Then they would've been FORCED to clean it. Of course I cancelled all my remaining treatments that week. Not into catching diseases while on vacay, thanks though. So, the food sucks and I can't get any much-needed body work here. And if that's the filth that's right under your nose (pun intended), what fresh hell is awaiting further hidden? Have my sheets been washed? Is the pillowcase on my bed filthy too? How would I know and why should I believe what I'm told? C) The towels WILL hurt you. You could use them to scrub the dried on muck from 4 wheelin' off your car. You could easily scrub your floors with them. I know I have rags at home a helluva lot softer than these overly chlorinated threadbare rag/towels. I had to dab. I'm serious when I say they will hurt you. It's like drying off with a loofah. D) DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A VILLA. Trust me on this. It's a day-care center for feral children and management does nothing. Nada. Niente. Nula. Not a thing. All you see is a sea of miserable faces TRYING DESPERATELY to relax in the midst of screaming wild banshees flinging themselves EVERYWHERE at top volume all the time, all day long. Bad parenting. It's like they're weaponizing their children! Do I have to parent your children for you? Or do I just throw all this money down the toilet and go home early just to get some peace and quiet, food and rest? I've never ever wished harm on a child but I confess, I did think about how just one fall, right smack on the face, and they'd go away for awhile and let me get some rest. Yep, that evil thought really did cross my mind. THAT is what I was pushed to. Hey, I'm only human. Lazy passive-aggressive parents are EVERYWHERE here. And at night, it's the drunk boymen behaving the exact same way. And again, management does NOTHING. Oh and the "fresh juices" replenished at your villa daily. Those are CANNED JUICES. Acidic watered down CANNED juices. Well, really sugar water with food coloring. And the bottled water is the cheapest filtered faucet water you can find in PLASTIC! That's right folks, plastic water bottles in a 15k a week villa. Pa the TIC. Pathetic! In the future I'll stay at a condo at the Polo next door. Much quieter, still close to restaurants, if you're into gut rot, and no spoiled rotten little brats stealing all your attention and time and peace. Prettier beach too. BUYER BEWARE this is not at all what it professes to be. It's not a 4 star or even a 3. It's an overpriced Motel 6 on the beach. Don't be a fool. Stay somewhere else. A Motel 6 on the beach comes to mind. Bet the food's better.

The service from staff was excellent - from the moment we arrived till we left. The staff was friendly, pleasant, accommodating and always greeted you when you passed. An incident demonstrating exceptional guest experience is my interaction with Sylvia, the hostess at Ko Restaurant. The weather was exceptionally hot and humid during my stay. I returned to the hotel after an afternoon of shopping and wanted a cold drink to help hydrate and cool me. I went to the Makana Market & Café to purchase an iced tea, but they said they didn't have any. They directed me to Ko Restaurant, right across from Makana Market. I ordered a take out order of ice tea with the waiter to take back to my room and was charged over $7 for a small 10-12 oz cup of cold tea. Sylvia, the hostess looked at my receipt and said "that is just too much for that small cup of iced tea". She then asked if I wanted another cup to take back with me. I said yes, and thanked her. She went to the kitchen and returned with a plastic container holding the equivalence of approximately 5 cups of cold tea. I was able to enjoy the tea all afternoon! I was amazed with Sylvia and how she assessed the situation. She turned my experience into something positive and has made my stay at the Farimont Kea Lani even more special, providing exceptional guest service.

We stayed at this Fairmont a few years ago for a work Presidents Club trip, which was the best hotel we've ever stayed at. Three years later it seemed a bit more dated. We had a partial ocean view room, and the first room they put us in on the third floor had tree's that obstructed our view. Upon request though, they moved us to the 6th floor and our view was spectacular from our deck. There were no bathrobes in the rooms, nor did they sell any, so make sure you pack one. The gift shop, which had nice, higher end options three years ago, seemed to have just average- lower end merchandise. The service and staff were wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and location can't be beat. We will most likely come back again!
