I loved this hotel! It was definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in! Clean! Upscale! Plush! Safe! It is in a nice location—pharmacies, subway, pizza place and Qdoba are in walking distance. I was so happy that American School Counselor Association chose this hotel as one of their hotel for the PD conference. We were able to walk to Fig and 8th Street.

Very clean, great service, good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn at LA Live. It is right across the street from lots of attractions and affordable. Our only regret is that we were unable to stay here the whole time we were in LA. See our review of the Bonaventure, another Bonvoy property

I really enjoyed my stay here. I especially liked the hot breakfast, gym, and kitchen amenities. I also liked the bathroom- it was very spacious with a wonderful shower. I came here for a 4 day conference. The location was within walking distance of the conference center, Ralph’s, and several Starbucks. This studio room was comfortable for one and doable for two. A family would feel a bit cramped. The homeless problem in this area is bad. I would advise exploring the city with at least one other person. If a conference brings me back to LA, I would consider staying here again.

Marriott definitely is a monopoly near DTLA. There's 4 with one street between them. This property has a R3sidence Inn combined with a Courtyard. No real restaurant that both hotels share along with the lobby & reservation desk. The suite rooms were cramped and claustrophobic. Pick a room that doesn't have it's personal suite. They are much more appealing and open. They cost less also. We really don't care for the brand but they have a monopoly right by LA Live.

A tremendously warm and welcoming experience

My family and I stayed here last month and from beginning to end, we had a tremendously warm and welcoming experience. As a Marriott Gold member, I have stayed at countless properties over the years and this one nears the very top of the list. Prior to arriving, I emailed the general manager Andrea Knowles expressing my excitement for the trip (my family's first time in LA). She graciously upgraded us to the larger studio with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed and the room was incredible - we even had a welcome package of fruit and nuts waiting when we arrived as well as a gracious note from Mary Davies, director of food and beverage. The breakfast was great, and provided strong motivation to wake up early :) The location is unbeatable - within 20-30 minutes, you can be in Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and more, making this incredibly convenient for hitting all the tourist sites. The laundry room is very convenient and the pool, which unfortunately we didn't have time to use, was well heated despite being outdoors. We didn't have a chance to meet Ms. Knowles during our stay but she was in constant contact via email and this personal touch is so rare these days and made all the difference. I highly recommend Residence Inn LA Live for your next trip to LA!
