Nice for the price point

I’ll be as fair as possible with this review. The good: The staff were friendly and polite at all areas. Bars, restaurants, front desk, even gardeners and maintenance The property outside is beautiful. The garden areas and lagoon area is very nice to walk around. The pool is huge with enough space for multiple people to be playing catch or another game without taking over the entire pool. Lots of chairs to be found at all times of day The housekeeping was prompt and good Rooms were clean and in good order, although old furniture The shower pressure was amazing We got the room we paid for and the view was fantastic The upper floors were quiet Nice activities during the day like archery and Rifle shooting The not great: Evening activities were one option that was done by 10pm and sometimes the show repeated. Relatively low budget productions, but the staff gave a great effort Day passes are sold so there are a lot of locals and in general the melia brand does attract more local guests. This made some language barrier issues and crowd issues during the day The beach seating is limited and there was pretty rough water (no ones fault you can’t control the sea) The reasons I wouldn’t return The food and drink is really the low point of this resort. I didn’t have a “great” meal once. The a la carte options are so limited at just two restaurants and the times shown on the app don’t match when they are actually open. The food was overdone so badly and seemed to be reused for multiple meals. The drinks had no variety and were just all a bit off. There isno fun drink of the day or even a menu of tropical drinks you could order. The selection of alcohol was limited even for premium. Overall for the price point this resort is ok, I would try something else next time
It’s alright, Enrique was great! Hotel not so much.

Hotel is geared towards locals, the pool is slimy, food doesn’t really change day to day (very little seafood). Beaches aren’t as clean as other resorts and there is not a night life here. The spa is ok but you can hear everything from the pool area. They are tearing this place down and rebuilding it so the care of it is lacking. Ponds aren’t cleaned and they smell terrible due to lack of water movement. It’s significantly went down hill since our last visit a few years ago- sadly cause we’ve stayed here several times. For the cost.. I don’t think we will stay here again.
