Hello, If you can, try to avoid Cuba for now. They are in lack of everything... Our trip to the Muthu was not good at all except for the beach & sun. Ou room was in Block 1 cause Block 2 is completely close. Lots of mold in the bathroom and on the room chair. The overflow of the A/C was dropping in the Bathroom, so the floor was always full of water. don't ask about the food.. eggs in the morning, pork & rice for lunch & diner. Same think at restaurant à la carte... The Resort it selt ain't clean at all. The good all days are way behind... We went to town (Varadero) and it was the same, no food in the restaurant except sandwich, well better then pork & rice. So we'll need to go somewhere else for now to get the sun & beaches!

Rooms were old and ok ...food was questionable at times could always count on the ice creamand candypineapple..the pool was disgusting, not sure if the pumps were running at all, they cleaned it in the morning but there was a scum floating on the water and colour was cloudy...staff were great ....beach was beautiful but the amount of chairs at the beach could be raised and to more comfortable seats...couldn't get clean pool towels for our 6 day stay...coffee at the morning buffet was horrible the coffee bar was much better ...overall would not recommend this resort ...big plus was the entertainment and staff A+

I just came back from a week stay at Muthu and my overall experience was great ! The staff at the hotel are absolutely amazing , everyone of them are super friendly and they make you feel like at home , specially Don Roberto at the buffet , Don Diago and Annais at the bar , Carlos at the coffe bar , Yohan with the entertainment crew and of course the amazing Lizandra with PR . I would totally recommend this place to stay in Varadero with your family or alone , you will always feel safe and welcomed. The food was good at least for me , we had rice, pasta , beans , lots of salads and delicious food , ice cream , bread , cheese, ham , eggs fro breakfast , chicken , pork and on the international restaurant you can get lobster and wine . The shows at night are so much fun for the whole family . I can’t wait to be back next year for another amazing week at Muthu ??

Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Muthu Playa Varadero was not what I expected. The lack of food was one of the most noticeable issues. Surprisingly, we encountered an extremely limited selection at the buffet, and many times, there was no food available at all. The quality of what was offered left much to be desired, and the hygiene of the preparation areas was questionable. Furthermore, the rooms were dirty and poorly maintained. The level of cleanliness was unacceptable, with stains on the sheets and floors left unvacuumed. It's disappointing to encounter this level of neglect in an establishment that should be maintained to the highest standards. Another negative aspect was the lack of coffee. For many travelers, a good cup of coffee in the morning is essential, but unfortunately, this basic service was not available at the hotel. Last but not least, the customer service was extremely poor. The staff seemed disinterested and unwilling to assist with our concerns or issues. The overall attitude was one of indifference, which is unacceptable in a hospitality setting. In summary, my experience at Hotel Muthu Playa Varadero was disappointing, and I cannot recommend it to other travelers. The lack of food, room cleanliness, absence of coffee, and poor customer service created an unwelcoming and unpleasant environment. I hope the hotel takes steps to improve these deficiencies in the future.

This was my 5th trip to Cuba and every time is something different. This resort had its positives and its negatives...so I'll start with the positives POSITIVES: -Rooms were exceptionally clean. Spotless actually. Great bed and pillows -Resort is super clean and always people cleaning the lobby and windows -Showers worked and always had hot water -Everything worked in the room. But one time our toilet wouldn't flush and they changed us immediately, so that was great service -Very friendly staff -BEACH IS EXCELLENT with vendors always walking down by the water but not harassing you, great place to buy your cigars and Rum. -The Massage is worth every cent. Excellent -Free paddle boats which was fun and lots of lawn chairs and always a life guard around. -Free WIFI all over resort except the beach, when you ask for it, its in 10 hour blocks which was great. so your not always running for it. -good toilets in the lobby, usually with toilet paper, but have your own handy since they do run out. -the best bar on the resort is the Lobby bar. -Cafe bar - excellent -Ice Cream at Buffet is amazing To do -Jeep tour - amazing. You will see a lot of kids on this tour so if your bringing stuff to had out, make sure you have lots for about 100 kids and parents. They need it. -Scooters- recommended- we spent the day stopping where we wanted, Market, Al Capone house, went down to the Marina to look around. Scooters are worth the money. -Dolphin excursion- good, but their tank was dirty. Negatives: -resort is outdated, needs a revamp. Hallways in the buildings are very run down, primer on the walls and some mold and water leakage, so watch your step in case you slip. -Buildings have 4 stories, elevator was broken. So safe to say we got our exercise in during the week -Buffet was very repetitive, if you didn't like pork or rice you will have difficulty. Papaya and Mango cooked 10 different ways to make buffet look full. -The whole country is suffering a food shortage and its not the workers fault. Only had eggs two mornings and some-times no bread. Butter only one morning, so bring what you need to get you through, peanut butter, cheese whiz, butter, jam, etc. -Buffet servers very slow. You're better off grabbing your own coffee at the cafe before entering the buffet. -Snack bar is only one meal, chicken sandwiches or pork burgers, both delicious though. -Drink selection at all bars was poor. Only rum or whisky. With either punch or coke -shortage on wine also, limited at buffet and lobby bar -Swimming pool has holes in the patio, so watch your step. -only two a la carts and your choice is pork or chicken, in both restaurants Would i recommend this resort? its 50/50. if you don't mind the few negatives...then have a great week
