Located at the southern tip of the island, this nature park is the largest ecological reserve in Cozumel. There are more than 247 acres of terrain here, ranging from covered-in mangrove jungles to white-sand beaches and intricate reef systems, providing shelter to wildlife such as raccoons and iguanas and 220 species of birds.

Kids will love being shuttled in a catamaran across the lagoons, or climbing the lookout tower to watch crocodiles as they feast in waters down below. This area is also a nesting ground for the island's giant turtles that lay their eggs on the shores here between June and August.

Finish the trip off with a visit to the Museum of Navigation at the base of the Celarain Lighthouse, and climb the 180 plus steps to the top to appreciate the cool breezes and panoramic view.

You'll need to rent a car or book a tour to access this site.
