Each December 12, Mexicans enjoy one of the most important celebrations of the year with the Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe (Dia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe).

Normal daily routines grind to a halt as the community honours Mexico's patron saint with parades, street fairs, music, fireworks, dancing, religious services and more. Decorations including flowers, altars and colourful figures are showcased in homes and on the streets as children dress up like the man who was reportedly visited by the Virgin Mary in 1531.
