This is a really well done resort. We stayed in a cabana with outdoor tub and plunge pool. Very private and lovely views of the bay. Staff was genuinely friendly and helpful at every turn. The pools and bars never felt crowded. Food and drinks were better than expected for an all inclusive, and Cocobay really does not feel like an all inclusive resort. Cabs are quick and the drivers are very helpful for outside excursions. Shout out to Mr George, (our favorite driver) who took us to Papa Zouks and multiple ATMs as they don't take credit cards there!. Overall, this was a fantastic choice on a beautiful island.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. I have traveled to many islands and this is by far my favorite. The location of this resort is picture perfect. There was so many beautiful infinity pools it was never crowded. It was very relaxing with friendly staff and great rum punches. We stayed in the chattel house and it was so beautiful. Jermain and Kerry are the best serves/bartenders. I would highly recommend, very romantic.

Very good, just a few small issues

I had a superb week at Cocobay. We were relaxed from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The room was very nice, lovely private balcony, comfortable bed, semi al-fresco shower and good cooling options too. The resort itself is small feeling, despite the cottages being quite spread out. There are two bars, two pools and one restaurant. It isn't trying to be Sandals, so don't expect that kind of thing. the complimentary padddleboards, hobie cat and kayaks are a nice touch. the staff were mostly lovely and friendly. The ever-cheerful Sonia at breakfast was always popular. Jermain greeting us for lunch with his big smile and of course Mr Gore always ready to inject some good humour. On the odd occasion the staff could be a little unhelpful or uncommunicative - perhaps it is just a cultural difference? dinners were great. lunches and breakfast were perfectly acceptable. in terms of the small issues - for the price I paid I would expect: - minibar to be restocked more than once a week - extra dishes on the menu without a $30 charge (e.g. Coconut Shrimp) - it is a bit of a kick in the teeth when you pay $630 a night to then be asked more money for some local food - better standard of cocktails on the whole a very enjoyable trip

ARRIVAL: We had transportation from the airport included in our stay, which was a nice touch!! I will say the trip is closer to 40 minutes, and trust me it's worth the drive. We were greeted at Cocobay with rum punch, and given a brief overview of the hotel. It is best to explore on your own to figure everything out! ROOM: We booked a deluxe room with a pool. We were put in the YB (YABBA) room. So much better than I ever expected. The views are insane!!! So much natural beauty everywhere you look. Pink flowers, green plants, a gorgeous pool, bath tub (didn't use but kind of cool), two lounge chairs, and a built in cabana type lounge space. The shower doors also open up to all of this. You have total privacy in your pool and on your porch. Inside the room- the bathroom isn't amazing but it's super clean and has everything you need. Everything is very clean, and the bed is beyond comfortable. GROUNDS: Everywhere you look is stunning. The entire island is so much more undeveloped than other Caribbean places we have been. That's what makes it so beautiful and lush here. Everything is placed perfectly on the resort. The pools are all gorgeous with amazing views. You can also always find a spot with an umbrella, which is important because the sun here is SUPER strong and you will definitely need shade at some point. BEACH: The beach is gorgeous. The ocean here is the prettiest water we have ever seen. It is hard to describe how gorgeous it truly is, but we met people who have seen Bora Bora, Mediterranean waters, and other places in the Caribbean... and they confirmed that this is THE most beautiful water! You never have a problem getting a chair on the beach here, and we always got one with one of the "hut" umbrellas. The views from are incredible. There are people who offer jet ski rides for around $50, and we did it one day- I would recommend it. Cocobay also offers free water activities like this little sail boat, paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkeling gear. Hugh is amazing- he does so much on the beach. He sets up everything for the beach dinners, he teaches people to sail the little boat, and he brings you drinks from the bar ALL DAY. Definitely a great addition. FOOD: The food was probably a 4/5, but it was not bad at all like some of these reviews say. The breakfast is amazing- always a buffet. Sonia is there making the best omelettes you've ever had. Lunch is also a buffet that offers a different fresh fish (again by Sonia) every day, or you can go down to the pool by the beach for paninis. Dinner is my least favorite meal, but still really good. Four courses and we were always full and satisfied. The drinks are always good- all day and night, lol. SERVICE: The service here is what makes it so amazing! We made a great friend in Sasha- she is amazing at the bar and such an asset to the resort. We also loved Oriel, Altoni, Hugh, Janine and Sonia. And SO many others!!! I wish I could remember every name! EXTRAS: We did the beach dinner and thought it was great. You get four courses, and if you choose the lobster option- you get SO much more than you ever would in the states for the price. The young guys working down there were great- we were there Friday, April 5th. Last note- definitely make it down to Sheer Rocks (on property but rent the space from Cocobay) for drinks, apps or lunch. Ask for Jackson- he is the best!!! If you are thinking about it at all- just book!! But definitely do a full week. Trust me you will not want to leave.

My husband and I have just returned from 6 nights at Cocobay and I don't think I can come up with enough superlatives to describe our experience. First: It is sooooo beautiful! Looking out on the water and the sky from our deck, watching pelicans dive like bowling balls right in front of us, stargazing at the incredibly clear sky, seeing sunrises and sunsets, being taken care of by the friendliest and most attentive staff, eating delicious food three meals a day, hearing lovely music from excellent musicians and going to sleep to the sound of gentle waves... yeah, it was great. Each day we walked a little slower and relaxed a little more. We stayed in the Chattel House which was spacious, beautiful, romantic (celebrating a 40th anniversary), pristine. We arrived to a room with beautifully placed flowers on the bed, towels, counters. A bottle of champagne and one of rum awaited us. And shortly someone arrived with two fluffy bathrobes which I assumed were warmed by the dryer. The room is open to the outdoors with french doors. The bathroom feels like it is outdoors as one wall is made of wood sticks that let the breezes in and there is an enormous window next to the shower that makes you feel like you are showering outdoors. And the tub is actually outdoors. Bathing while looking out at the sea should be on everyone's bucket list. The landscaping (gorgeous) makes everything private somehow. The plunge pool is cold and one day it was hot out and I realized why a cold plunge pool was perfect. You don't swim in it. You cool off in it. We only used the air conditioner, which worked fine and quietly, for 5 minutes one day. The sea breezes were sufficient to keep us comfortable. Besides pelicans we had tiny hummingbirds and small finch-like guys singing and flitting about. FYI: the Chattel House sits below the bar and restaurant and you can hear the nightly music. But it ends before 10:30 and, except for one night, was lovely. We had planned to explore the island a little but the days were so gorgeous and the resort so beautiful we only left once to go to Shirley Heights on Sunday for the bar-b-que and music. We spent everyday at the beach which is shallow, calm, sugar sand and shells. The water was refreshing and not too cold. We swam in the two pools for 5 minutes each but realized we are beach people. We kayaked and snorkeled. I think if you are a real snorkeler you might want to take a tour to a reef where the fish are more colorful than at Cocobay. There are many different kinds of boat tours available. And many will pick you up right at the beach. There are also jet-skis for hire on the beach and local venders selling pretty things. The beach is really very private feeling without venders walking up and down. They are at one end of the beach. The food was delicious! I have food allergies with a long list of things I can't eat and the chefs made things specially for me or made things from the menu but left out my allergans. I can't say enough how grateful I am for their care. My husband ate everything and loved it. The chefs presented everything beautifully. There are also local places, one on each of the neighboring beaches, Big Freyes and Stone Church Beach that are supposed to have really good food. But we didn't need it. Next time. The best part of the resort is the staff. We met people who had worked there for many years. We were asked several times a day by staff if everything was all right, were we having a good time. And they meant it! Everything was fine but I think if we had had any problem they would have dealt with it cheerfully and immediately. We had conversations with maintenance people, servers, gardeners (They work very hard and the result is stunning), front desk staff, security, the beach attendants and invariably they were friendly, kind, interested in talking to us and they seemed to like working where they were. They are the reason this place feels like home - a dream home. Special thanks to Sonia who is the omelette wizard and grills the freshest fish at lunch, Topaz who gave me a sensational message, Mr. Gore who seemed happy to see us each time we met him at the restaurant and Veron who made our meals more fun. And the entire housekeeping staff who kept the place spotless and laughed when they told us it was the little birds who were stealing our sugar packets. Oh yes, No bugs! Not one did I see. Mongoose! Several a day. A few crabs. And two cats who just would like a piece of your fish if you don't mind. As others have noted, this is not the resort to come to if you want a raucous party atmosphere. This is a place for fun and rejuvenation. It is a sensual place filled with beauty. Can't wait to return.
