Absolutely fabulous holiday at Seabreeze

sema0 (London, United Kingdom) on Apr 20, 2024

Just back from our 1st visit to Barbados and 1st stay at the Sea breeze. I say 1st because we will definitely be returning. After being awake travelling for 20 hours pulling up to the Sea breeze and meeting Peggy the best feeling! Easy check in and shown to our room after a delicious, slightly alcoholic ??, rum punch. Our room was luxury junior suite (642) in Mahogany building, I can honestly say my excitement went through the roof! A stunning bathroom, huge bed, comfy sofa bed for our 17 year old son and a huge balcony with views of the sea (which we could see from our bed!) Literally every member of staff we had contact with would have a beaming smile and were so friendly, this seemed to be the norm in Barbados, such beautiful people. So many names of staff that I can't remember them all but Marcia made the best eggs (poached, fried, omelet, scrambled) delicious rotis and had an amazing memory & smile. Sheree, Prince, Danieka, Cuthbert, Michael to name but a few were all just wonderful. Food - Buffet (Mahogany) great for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Preferred when the menu was bajan but that's because I much prefer to eat the food of the country I'm visiting but the Italian, Chinese etc menus were also delicious Flying fish (bar & food) Small menu but again everything delicious. We were a big party of people so tried most dishes (salads, fish cutters, fish cakes, pasta) and all agreed food was yummy Cerulean Fine dining in a stunning beach front location over looking the sea. Aqua terra Restaurant with a menu that changes every few days, only ate there once and food was OK, not our favourite. Rum shop Gorgeous rum shack with delicious hot and cold rolls, fresh baked cakes Tipsy on the beach Lite bites on the beach, food was great ( had fish kebabs & spicy chicken wraps) All the bars served great cocktails, beers, wine and soft drinks - the bar by Cerulean/reception made the best rum sours and the rum shack had a huge variety of rums including Blackwell rum which we previously discovered in Jamaica. Beach - Stunning stretch of beach with comfy beds and canopy for if you need a boy of shade. Staff at the beach bring drinks, cold eucalyptus flannels to cool you down and were just so friendly. Sadly the whole length of our visit the red flag was up as water very choppy. Some of my party ventured in still as they're good swimmers but I could only paddle. Not the hotels fault as that's nature but I would have loved to use the kayaks and sea trampoline but the sea was just too rough We did 2 water Aerobics classes, 2 different instructors and I'm sure they'll remember our group, great fun! Evening entertainment was good, but sadly the night ends pretty early here (10pm ish) The group Virgo were excellent ???? & we enjoyed a good dance. The beach bbq was excellent, fab dancers, entertainers, food. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat, great location, gorgeous rooms with white company toiletries, restocked mini bar (not that you need it as s many bars to drink at but good for water), good food, lovely staff, clean, I just loved it! Oh and a shuttle service to Oistins fish fry on.Friday night which is a must try ( think carnival vibes) Negatives If I had to find negatives I'd say maybe later entertainment on a Saturday night? We were here to attend our friends wedding and again that was just fabulous too! Thank you to you all at SeaBreeze, see you next time ????

Amazing!

Charl_Turner04 on Apr 17, 2024

We have just returned from a week’s holiday at this resort and can honestly say we had an amazing time. A special thanks to Akaylia who was just amazing throughout our stay. We were a group of 5 with one member being a teenager and spent most of our time either on the beach or by the pool in the adults only area. We celebrated a birthday during our week and the staff went above and beyond to ensure it was a memorable celebration.. balloons were placed in the room along with a fruit platter and a bottle of wine, bottles of champagne were brought to us throughout the day while we we’re chilling by the pool and in the evening a celebratory dessert was sent to us at the end of our meal! Rooms: We stayed in room 205 and 206 which both overlooked the adults only pool with some view of the beach. Both rooms were clean, tidy and spacious and were made up every day. The fridge was stocked daily with bottles of water and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bathrooms were equipped with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Restaurants and bars: we could not fault the food, wide selection of food to suit everyone, buffet food was hot, and both Aqua Terra and Cerulean had a good selection to choose from on the menu’s. Cerulean was our favourite restaurant. All spirits were premium brands, cocktails were delicious and the pina colada’s went down a treat in the heat. Beach and pools: the beach was picturesque with plenty of sun loungers, we made use of the water sports which were included and managed to hire a jet ski at an additional cost, this was an amazing experience and I even managed to see some turtles whilst out on the jet ski. Pools clean and tidy with access to beach towels throughout the day. We will certainly be booking to return at some point.

Best holiday ever!

Lawrence J on Apr 17, 2024

Amazing holiday!! What a great hotel, with excellent food and service. After reading some reviews on here we did hesitate but thankfully we didn't change our holiday. We have been as a family to many places across the world but this has been the best by far! The staff are excellent who go above and beyond to give you the best experience from start to finish, best service we have had! The location is fantastic, 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minute walk to oistins fish market (where a local wonderful man gave us a private feeding of the wild turtles), Deia beach is a great place for a little drink and bite to eat if you fancy venturing out and is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The view from our room was stunning, looking over the incredible sand and sea! Cerulean was 5* quality food! I couldn't recommend this place any more and will definitely be returning!

Average

So this is an average family hotel. I'll give my honest feedback as I found it. The rooms: were OK. Small but generally clean with housekeeping doing a decent job. The bathroom was tiny and definitely NOT white company products. We had a issue whereby our air conditioning lead continuously for 2 days and took 4 attempts at speaking to staff to finally get it fixed ..after a lot of our stuff was soaked. Food was OK. Good for kids but not high end. The restaurants however had enough choice and given then price was good. David was the best waiter by far ...most of thr other staff weren't overly friendly..especially at the flying fish bar. Front of House: the initial arrival was very underwhelming with no one there to greet us upon arrival and not a parcualarly welcoming attitude at reception. However Joel was helpful and Phalesta was great for correspondence prior to the trip. The beach is stunning... one of the best on thr island and great for kids..although there are waves (but my kids loved them. Sun loungers on the beach a broken and umbrellas would be useful. Kids pools were fine, small but generally clean. Loungers around the pool are quite squeezed together and despite signs saying no reserving of sunbeds... this still happens. Adults only section is much nicer and we'll kept. Breakfast buffet was fine..nothing spectacular but good overall. As a travel agent i get to travel all over the world. In my opinion thisnis a good 3 star family resort suited to families who don't want to venture out too much and are happy with standard AI options. Finally when we left our bags in the luggage room...somehow they were left under a leaking pipe amd all our hand bags were soaked through with very little though given about it..this seemed to be the general theme. I think service could be improved as well as the standard of the resort as a whole...it just needs some love and brightening up. I wouldn't stop at this hotel again and I would only recommend to those who had a smaller budget but wanted to experience Barbados as a family on a budget.
