We booked through a third party hotel reservation site and were supposed to have a deluxe cottage studio with king bed. Upon checking in we find out that there are no king bed studios at all so we were given a tower room with ocean view. The staff are all very nice and the rooms are clean. It's oceanfront property but there are no lounge chairs or beach chairs on the beach or hammocks , which would have been nice. You can pay for a cabana but not worth it unless you are planning to spend hours on the beach. This time of year the ocean water is still cold and the first 3 days we were here it was very windy and the waves were strong. So that left us with little to do. We don't golf or play tennis so those amenities were not utilized. The spa is expensive and they add 20% gratuity automatically to the service along with tax. The food was average. Breakfast is not a buffet style which would have been nice to have for variety. Same menu daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. Nothing that was "wow.i gotta have that again."

First room was not remodeled, the kitchen cabinets were plywood inside and smelled like cockroach excrement, with brown marks on the unpainted plywood cabinets.I couldn’t use anything from these cabinets the smell was so bad.we live local and stayed over New Years because the fireworks are so loud near our home. This was such a horrible experience,we stayed home during the day and only came for the nights.....Moved second night to an “oceanfront” room (these rooms were the cottages, not in the hotel tower) .It was remodeled, and it did have a outdoor deck on the non beach side, which is next to the public running /walk path.Noisy loud talking people very early.Don’t stay in cottages,or worth it.

The resort itself was nice, great communication from the front desk. Pretty grounds and great beach property. We went for our honeymoon and got a free photo session with one print out which was nice but we kind of expected a little set up of congrats in our room or something. I don’t know if that had to do with covid going on or not but we were slightly disappointed after hearing how other resorts great the guests with floral leis and champagne or desert with flowers in the room. The location was great, private but easy to get to shops and a few other restaurants outside the resort. The restaurant inside the resort (Royal ocean terrace) was average/decent food but limited menu and we rarely were impressed with the service there sadly. Overall good experience with the resort itself though. Highly recommend upgrading the room to a deluxe ocean view or better, it’s worth it.

We just returned from a six night stay and we enjoyed it so much! We stayed on the 11th floor in the tower and our room was spacious and clean and the view of the ocean from the lanai was amazing. We enjoyed sitting out there both in the morning and in the evening. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and Kai checked in on us from time to time to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We loved swimming at Ka’anapali Beach and the fact that it was steps away from the hotel was a huge plus. We only wish our stay was longer!

Our stay at the Royal Lahaina Resort was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind. Traveling during COVID was truly an experience I never want to go through but staying at this hotel seemed effortless. We stayed in a cottage, across from the pool area and could hear the waves while we slept. The hotel is in a great location for accessing restaurants and shopping.
