This place is a Christmas wish come true! Love visiting in December and January every year. And I keep coming back because it’s so cool. My late Father had been traveling to Tamarindo Diria for the past 40 years, and loved it. Even though the small quaint-town has changed over the years, it still holds the charm and attraction of Costa Rica’s wonder and glamour. You’ll enjoy the secure beach access to splash in the turquoise water and nice two-pool accommodation for refreshment, sun bathing and reading a good book. The resort is conveniently located for access to most places in town – day or night time activity. Places to satisfy your appetite include: The Diria’s many restaurants (I like the breakfast buffet and Fina/Gallo’s the best), Patagonia Argentina grill & restaurant, The Black Stallion restaurant/Café/Surf Saloon in Villareal and Nogui’s downtown in beach. They have great hotel concierge for planned or spur of the moment adventures (Horseback riding, ATV treks, Zip lining, and wild jungle/surf explorations, etc. = a lot to do : ). If you celebrate the Sabbath, checkout Inglés de Santa Maria in Tarmariendo for an experience you won’t forget.

Although service was not up to par with the other resort we stayed it, it was still a wonderful time! Rooms are small.Right off the beach and close to all different shops and restaurants. They also have a garden/lounge area right off the beach but still on the resort. The pools are wonderful and cozy. Iguanas, lizards and one special cat roam the resort which is awesome. The pools are across the street from the main part of the resort but there is 24 hour security to help you cross. Breakfast was great. There was construction going on during our stay but they let us know a head of time which was nice.

Due to ongoing construction and probably lack of guests, they upgraded us to an ocean-front room, which was very nice. They also gave us $40 towards food & drink at their hotel. However, it was kind of overpriced compared to what we paid at our other hotels in Costa Rica. Very nice staff, rooms were clean, but bed was hard. Shower was super tiny. Nice family pool, but hot tub was lukewarm. The main pool and hottub facing the ocean were closed when we were there. Not sure why. Breakfast buffet was awesome.

stayed for 2 nights while on a package tour. a bit odd property because there are rooms on both sides of the main road half the property including the restaurant is on the beach while the other half is across the road a band on your wrist allows you entry into all areas there are 3 swimming pools including an adults only pool rooms are large and well ventilated with great views wherever you are staying all basic amenities and also an ice machine --but a bit jaded rooms restaurant on the beachfront serves an excellent breakfast with a huge choice of hot and cold items staff is very pleasant and ready to serve bars offer top notch drinks but no happy hours here all in all a good place to spend a couple of nights with the beautiful beach in walking distance good surfing beach and amazing sunset views

We loved our stay here. The pools and restaurants were fantastic. It was great to have so many things so easily accessible to us. The breakfast each morning was phenomenal. So much fresh fruit and wonderful options for hot food that changed each day. My boyfriend absolutely loved the waffle station. Now, the rooms. This room was nothing to write home about but it was more than satisfactory. We had everything we needed, a nice balcony overlooking the ocean and plenty of space to move around. The rooms are not huge American style rooms but they are comfortable and you shouldn’t be spending that much time in your room anyway. If you want some lavish room, don’t stay here but also, that shouldn’t be the focus of your trip to this wonderful place. Get out of the room and see what the town has to offer. The Diria is in a great central location where you can walk to nearly anything in Tamarindo. We also felt great knowing that there was a security guard at each of the entrances. We had no security concerns while we were here. One note, if stairs are an issue, be sure to tell them that when you make your reservation. There are no elevators. I would recommend this place to pretty much anyone. We were very pleased.
