Another nice stay 4 years later

We love this hotel for the location, beach access, as quick and easy entrance to our rooms and the hotel grounds. The rooms are still ok 4 years later. I would stay here again. The rooms were lacking amenities and the attendants at the pool side service were slow or non-existent. We paid $75 to rent a cabana on the beach and found ourselves going to the bar to grab drinks since no one would come by and serve us. The people where you check out towels and equipment to rent in the ocean lacked hospitality and customer service skills. I remember 4 years ago thinking the service all around was more like a 4-5 star hotel, which is what we are use to-they have slipped in service since our last visit. Overall the grounds are still very nice, we did use the workout facility by the ocean which was fine. My wife and I did find 2 roaches in our bathroom one morning which was pretty gross and disappointing. We do plan on returning in 2 years and I am hoping this hotel will be even better on our next visit. I will say the best service we had was at check in, we were greeted with necklaces, and they were extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering us gifts for our anniversary and birthday, a nice touch!

Fantastic resort on Poipu Beach. We got a deal that included breakfast and an oceanfront room. I don't think I would have gone without these perks. The room was great overlooking the pool. The hotel could use better food service. Lava's at the pool had over-prepared food and was expensive. No true "grab and go." didn't eat at the expensive restaurant. Staff was great

The Sheraton Kauai Resort was our second stop on a two week visit to the Garden Island. Having left the Westin Princeville after 7 wonderful days and nights on the North Shore, we drove south to spend a few days on the South Shore. We were upgraded to a top floor ocean view room at check in. Wow! The views were spectacular, and we immediately went out into our balcony to feel the ocean breezes. The room was very spacious, the seating and lighting in the room good, and the king bed, like all Sheraton beds, was luxurious. The bathroom was beautifully appointed, and had more than enough towels! We arrived on a Saturday, & our room overlooked the hotel Luau grounds! We had a simple dinner at the hotel Lava Restaurant, hightailed it back to our balcony, and sat there with drinks in hand watching the show! What a nice treat! The pool area is small, but the pools are delicious. We rented one of the cabana’s on the sand one day, just inches from the shore break. Word of caution...the ocean in front of the hotel was pretty brutal while we were there. Between the undertow & the battering waves, it took lots of strength to exit the water. All in all, the Sheraton was great. There is valet parking, so use it. There are precious few parking spots on the grounds.

This was the best hotel that we stayed at during our trip. We also stayed at a different resort on the north side of the island as well as a resort on the Big Island and this was by far the best. This is located in a great location walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the beach. If I had the chance to re-do my trip, I would choose to only stay here for the length of my time on the island.

    Perfect for a Honeymoon

Best place to stay on the island. We came for our honeymoon and this resort was perfect. We stayed in the Oceanfront rooms, which was absolutely worth it. The rooms were perfect, the bed comfortable, the robes, the coffee, everything was great. It has a beautiful pool and beach area, with shaded beach chairs and bungalows to rent for VERY affordable prices compared to other tropical resorts. The poolside service is a bit slow, but it is a nice convenience. Having a beach is huge, as most places do not have a beach very close. Parking is complimentary and very close and easy to park. Check in and valet service is excellent. The food is a bit subpar at the two restaurants and I would dine elsewhere if I came again. Room service is exorbitantly expensive, I'm guessing they want you to eat at their facilities. There is a cafe that serves some basic food (pizza, hot dog, sandwiches), Starbucks, and sells booze and other non-alcoholic drinks. Can be quite a wait, so be prepared. I would absolutely come here again. We had an amazing experience and can't thank the staff enough for providing a wonderful spot for a honeymoon!
