Convenient but just meh

Stacy J on Apr 19, 2024

First time traveling with our infant. When we booked the room we requested a crib. When we checked in, we requested a crib. When we got to our room, we requested a crib. 30 minutes later still no crib so we called again. Finally showed up 45 minutes after check in despite asking in advance and sharing a predicted arrival time. Room was also quite dusty. Improvements in guest services could be made.

Seamless and pretty much perfect

There57 (Ottawa, Canada) on Apr 15, 2024

It's such a pleasure to arrive at a hotel like this - welcoming, any issues solved without delay (miscommunication on a room assignment - rapidly and efficiently solved with 100% satisfaction), super loyalty recognition, clean/comfortable/spacious rooms...just love it here! As others have noted, location is great for LAX arrival/departure, but I'd definitely consider it for a longer stay given the exemplary level of service from everyone we encountered, plus the great accommodation and facilities. Top floor gym is huge, well equipped and has an amazing view. Bar service and breakfast both great. I didn't need to park, but the valet staff were great - welcoming and knowlegable. Delighted with my stay, and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Convenient location, prepare to compromise on service and value

GeekSiliconValley (Ormond Beach, Florida) on Apr 14, 2024

This place is within 1 mile of LAX, making the location hard to beat. You can walk there saving time and money. I used to love stopping over here, but since 2020 the place has gone downhill. The furnishings have aged, and the cleanliness has also suffered. The buffet breakfast that used to be included, is now $38 and it’s like a bargain basement motel breakfast. Cold meats, cold potatoes, only prefab scrambled eggs. A few types of unripe fruit, oatmeal. Supposedly there is an a la carte menu available but we were never shown the menu. I ordered an omelet (included with the buffet) but I had to guess on the toppings that were allowed. The server would tell me yes or no as I made guessed choices. Some of the items that I was refused, I knew they had in the kitchen because they are on the dinner menu. The breakfast staff on the whole were unhelpful. The table next to us had been waiting 15 minutes for mimosas when we left. When they asked about their drinks, they were just told “coming”. (Rude, how long does it take to make a mimosa, especially when the buffet is in the bar and the orange juice is already right there.) Dinner was pretty good. We got a Cuban sandwich. All the meat was in one lump in the center showing that it was hastily prepared without care. The bartenders were ok. They would have been better if they had paid more attention to customers than each other and other staff. If you are expecting the royal treatment as a Hyatt World member, think again. Although it was recognized at check in that I am a member, we were simply offered 2 warm bottles of water over the counter. Nothing else. Also, when I made it clear that we wanted breakfast with our room, we were not offered a package upgrade. We were given the breakfast hours and the price quote of $38pp++. I saw another hotel just a little farther down the street, and I will check out the reviews to see if we should stay there next time. This place just isn’t what it was. Lastly, the Hyatt stay survey asked me to fill out a TripAdvisor review and then threw it on the floor. The only was to exit the survey is to “skip this step”. So don’t waste your time.

Great Hotel Near LAX!

Puka2k (San Francisco, California) on Apr 14, 2024

This was a stop over stay after a long trip to the Philippines on my way back to Sacramento with my wife. We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. The staff is usually amazing and the facilities well maintained! Perfect for travelers coming and going through LAX! Free shuttle to and from the airport for hotel guests. Nice facility!

Shuttle picks up from departures level

checkmate333 (Heidelberg, Germany) on Apr 13, 2024

Very pleasant airport stay that checks all the boxes. Note that shuttle DOES NOT PICK UP ON GROUND TRANSPORTATION LEVEL. Go to the departures level, one level up from ground transportation. It may look like you're in the wrong spot but walk down the sidewalk until you get to a red sign labeled "hotel pickup." We waited less than 50 seconds for shuttle even though we arrived at 1130pm. The hotel shares a shuttle with Quik Park but it's clearly marked. Quiet and clean room with coffee pods. Coffee shop around the corner in lobby with many convenience items. Couldn't ask for more!!
