The Excellence Oyster Bay was exactly what we needed for a getaway, where all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy warm weather. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The restaurant choices are varied and offer good food/beverages.

Maybe the best Beach set up for my wife and I we have been. Service, Quality, Resort structure second to none. The room was magnificent!! The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They are on their way to duplicating what Playa does. Special recognition should go to Tuedann Kenish for outstanding guest service managment and her asssistant Macy

We were there from 1/13-1/18/2020. Very windy all week, more wind than normal in Jamaica. As usual the staff was very friendly, 5th time in Jamaica and the people are amazing. Water was tougher than normal due to the weather. Now on to the resort...food was great, Magna and zenith were amazing, both are for club level only. The food at the Grill was also great but service was very slow. Had breakfast and lunch at the Kitchen everyday, buffet style. The Hotel itself was nice but seems a lot older than just 1-1/2 yrs. concrete on the main walkway at the pool was crumbling. They also used a lot of treated lumber for walkways and pool deck areas which in a few years will need to be replaced or will cause a lot of splinters in your feet. They had plenty of seating options...no need to save seats which was awesome!! Many places to sit that were very quiet which we enjoyed. We had the jr suite with private pool, room was huge. If you get a room with a private pool bring a pool float, we used our floats in the pool everyday!! While we were there they did not have any floats at the pool....I’m guessing due to the wind. Plenty of bar options for everyone

My husband and I traveled to EOB from Dec 20th - 27th. This was our 13th stay at an Excellence Property. After trying other resort chains such as Sandals, Secrets, Iberostar, Riu, Barcelo, we have determined that none of these come close to the Excellence Chain. I was a little apprehensive after reading many negative reviews, but was shown there was nothing to be nervous about. Everything was amazing!!! We booked hotel and flight separate, so we had to book our own transfer. We booked a group transfer. We were the first drop off, however I would book a private transfer next time. We waiting a long time from when we landed, to leave the airport. The airport was crazy when we landed!!! Soooooo busy. Wow. No easy way to get through. You just need to wait. The Montego Bay airport option I would recommend, IF you have a private transfer. That would get you through quickest. Now onto the important stuff.....the resort!! The resort is beautifully laid out. It is long, and ocean views from the majority of the resort (rooms, restaurants, pools etc). We booked a Beach House, Excellence Club. We would do this again. We were in Building 1. Next to the EC Club and Magna Restaurant. Beautiful sunsets from here (when it wasn't cloudy). The beach houses are beautifully appointed. Plunge pool on our balcony with an outdoor bed and 2 muskoka style chairs (Adirondacks). Inside there was a large jacuzzi tub (we didn't use, but it was beautiful). Housekeeping was amazing. Mini bar restock was amazing. Turndown service was amazing. When we arrived, Duval took us to our room. He is the nicest man!!! We saw him all week and he always remembered us and our names. Would take the time to chat with us. After we checked in, we did consider moving to a villa. Kelvin took us our first night to tour a villa, and they are unbelievable! So beautiful. However, the price was the factor for us staying in our beach house, which we were very happy about. We loved it. We saw Kelvin everyday for the rest of the week, and he is so kind. Always remembered our names. Asked how our day was. He would run out of the EC Club at Magna if he saw us walk by, so he could say hello. I think Kelvin should be in sales :-) We spent everyday, just relaxing up at the Infinity pool which is ontop of the Lobster House and Oregano. We were always the only people up there!!! I don't understand that...there is a full bar, fantastic service, lots of seating/laying options, and an infinity pool. I don't know why people don't go up here? Is it the stairs? Maybe because the pool is freezing? I would go downstairs to the warmer pool, and head back up to the rooftop. Best views at the resort. Sheffan took care of us everyday. She is a lovely person, and was nice to get to know. We were sad when we had to leave her when our vacation was over. I encourage you to try the rooftop! Tresan was there for a day or two of our week, who also was so sweet and attentive. Our first night, Ricky took care of us at the Zenith (EC bar). Excellent service. Rosalee at Zenith for breakfast was wonderful. Please seek out "Crazy Eddie" who is a bartender who will rotate around. You will hear him from anywhere on the resort! He is excellent at what he does. Also "Boom Boom" Jenniel!!!! She is wonderful. Brian is a young server at Chez Isabelle, who was so attentive and kind. There is one EC building and pool at one end of the resort (Magna) and one at the other end (Zenith). Both have a bar, restaurant, and pool. Both are beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. The jerk chicken at the main pool is amazing!!! The people here work SO hard. Please tip them!! I saw some guests being so rude to them, it made me angry. Ignorant people. Red Stripe and Bud Light were available in cans. We would drink Bud Light at home, but definitely preferred the Red Stripe in Jamaica. There are TONS of beach chairs. The resort was absolutely dead for the first 5 days of our vacation. When it got very busy the last 2 days, there were still lots of chairs available, and no "chair reserving" game at 6:00 in the morning. That was nice! Cielo bar (on the beach) is a nice spot for a cocktail. They also have Jamaican patties and jerk chicken. You just help yourself. We did do the Silent Disco, which we have done at other Excellence Resorts. So much fun. A must do. The Bob Marley show was outstanding!!!! Aroma (coffee place) just off of the lobby makes a great latte! Lots of places to sit, both inside and out. We had a couple of days of rain. That's Jamaica. Not the resorts' fault. Other Excellence Resorts have The Grill and Lobster House as their outdoor restaurants. EOB has Oregano (Italian) and Lobster House as their outdoor restaurants. Oregano has a great lunch menu. A few things that are different from the other Excellence resorts: - No lazy river - No Excellence Club Pool Concierge (they provide fresh snacks, cool towels, clean your sunglasses etc), but most importantly as what room you are in. We only got asked this once at EOB. I know for a fact there were guests using these pools who were not EC guests. - No Indian restaurant - No Mediterranean restaurant (we were okay with this) All in all this was a perfect trip, and we would return in a heartbeat. The people who work here are so kind!!! Given our comparison against other Excellence resorts, we love the ones in Mexico and now Jamaica.....price would likely dictate where we go.
