We arrived at this hotel after a night on a sleeper train and were looking forward to checking in to the fairmont. As a Beatles fan I was also elated when I realized John Lennon held his bed in for peace here! The rooms were big and the beds were comfortable. The wifi was tricky to access and had to be purchased so be warned if your expecting it for free. Howeve, you can join their club and access it for free! However, there was plenty non wifi related activities. As well as the beauty that is Montreal, the hotel had an amazing swimming pool with a divine hot tub and free pool noodles! Another highlight in this hotel of highlights was the artisan market, a petit little eatery where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner! Breakfast includes, waffles and crepes at a reasonable price. They also have lovely ice cream! Overall, after 2 fantastic nights, we were sad to leave but this hotel is definitely a recommend as it provides a lovely luxury!

    Not the best Fairmont

The rooms were recently redone, and appear new, bright and well laid out. But then you go into the bathroom. It is modern and new, but difficult to use. While the glass shower door swings both into and out of the actual shower, the only way to enter of exit the shower is by swinging it out. The only place to leave a towel to use after you shower is on the outside handle of the shower door or on the floor of the bathroom. Neither are good options. A hook or two on the inside of the bathroom door could remove that annoyance. I have stayed in Fairmonts around the world. This is the first time I was not offered turn down service or a morning newspaper. There is a coffee maker, but to use it, you need to fill the water container which requires that you be double jointed. The bed was very comfortable, the closet ample. The lighting good. the maid service quick and early in the morning, the location fantastic, but it seemed to me to lower the Fairmont standard.

We arrived by car after a six hour drive to find our room ready at 12:30 - that is key!! We got a one level room upgrade and had breakfast included daily. the service here is wonderful and everyone is very helpful from the breakfast staff to the front desk to the valet. The room was maintained very well by the staff - always a pleasure to come back after a day out sightseeing to a spotless room! The room was very comfortable. The location is perfect - right next to the train station and easy walk to metro stops for getting around the city as well as quick walk to the old town and waterfront. If I return to Montreal, I will stay here again without question!

First let me say the service at this hotel is impeccable. Everyone we interacted with was courteous and helpful. But... we paid for 2 connecting view rooms, the front desk was cheerful and gave us 2 rooms on the 11th floor. We get there and notice major construction is going on across the street! That's a view room? I go down to see if we can change rooms and was informed the hotel is sold out, but they haven't had many complaints about the construction, mainly complaints about the outside club on the 3rd floor Thursday-Saturday until 10pm! What? She wasn't kidding, the bass was so loud, it rattled the glasses in our rooms! They should inform you before check-in that these things are occurring and give the guests the opportunity to make a decision. Once again I must say the staff was very nice and tried to make us happy, but they should be honest with their guests!

Nice hotel but not good value

The hotel is very nice, clean and comfortable. It’s also in a good location, connected to Gare Centrale and a few minutes walk from downtown. Unfortunately though, considering the price of the rooms I don’t feel they treat their customers correctly. The wifi is very expensive at $16 a day for a basic connection, meanwhile on the same trip in hotels of a similar level we received it for free. There’s no fridge automatically provided (but apparently you can request one) as the mini-bar is full, with sensors built in to automatically charge you if you remove anything from it. There’s even a $2 charge to store luggage - something I’ve never come across before. I’d understand these fees for a budget hotel, but when we’d spent around $900 on a stay I expected to be treated as such. Despite being on the 11th floor our evenings were disturbed each night due to the loud music from downstairs. To be honest - I’d recommend you stay somewhere else if you’re visiting the city.
