Had a very nice 10 day stay at Sunset at the Palms! After a long day of travel, and 2 tired and grumpy travellers, check in was a breeze, which was a relief. Accommodations are quaint and cozy. Sitting on the back deck watching birds and lizards in the trees was relaxing. Every night was a different theme when it came to dinner, so the variety was welcome. We met plenty of people around the pool area, some of whom we keep in touch with. A special thank you to the crossing guards. Navigating the road to get to the beach area would not be easy without them. The beach area is quite large with plenty of space for anyone wishing to be there. The service at the beach is fantastic. From finding and placing chairs for you, to bringing drinks and food. The menu at the beach is simple but delicious. Thank you everyone at Sunset at the Palms for making our Jamaican vacation a delight! Mark and Karla

We arrived on Saturday March 7 after a rough start to travel. COVID-19 was just beginning to appear, my husband’s truck was totaled by our driver on the way to the airport, it didn’t look good. After navigating through the airport we finally made it. We were greeted with drinks and cool towels. Little did we know our travel would get more complicated. We were informed we “need to meet the manager”. Come in Mrs. Simms. In her most sincere voice she tells us there was an overbooking and we needed to stay at another resort for 2 nights, but assured us it was comparable to theirs and we would not be disappointed. We were tired, hungry, and frustrated. Mrs. Simms kept her composure even with my husbands not so nice expressions. And let’s just say they COMPENSATED us for the inconvenience. They were right about the other resort, it was very nice and we enjoyed our stay but could not wait to get back to SATP. In come our “Personal” concierge Daniella; she made sure we got to and from the resorts seamlessly, she even took the ride with us and didn’t leave until we were all settled. She booked our excursions with ease. She made sure to get us all the dinner reservations. During all of this her personable attitude stood out. When we returned to SATP, Staci-Ann got us a beautiful corner room overlooking the goats. If there was any down time, we would be talking. I found a friend in Staci. These two were incredible. Not enough words can be said. Every day we would be greeted by these two, not to forget Iesha, and Tobiann. They all endured my husbands excitable personality and humor, THANK YOU. To sum this up, every person we encountered was friendly and attentive, from Alycia’s humor in dining, to Craig’s circus acts, to Clevon’s handshakes by the pool to quiet Claudette by the coffee bar (which was awesome), to Kamesha by entrance security. And we can’t forget Brenda and the girls in massage, getting my husband to sit still and have people touching him is no easy feat. Yes the resort was beautiful with the lush gardens, the goats were cool, the rooms were unique and comfortable, the beach was the cleanest I’ve ever been to and the local shops on the beach had some of the friendliest people we met, BUT THE STAFF MADE THE TRIP!! If you enjoy small, quiet resorts and getting treated like royalty you will not regret coming here!

Just returned from a 14 night stay & in the circumstances of the crisis that has gripped the entire world have nothing but praise for the resort & particularly the staff at sunset at the palms. This is quite a small adult only all-inclusive resort with its own stretch of beautiful beach in bloody bay, negril. The resort is beautifully kept with lush gardens in which the guest lodges are located all around the resort buildings where restaurants, bars & pool are. We spent our days at the beach which is just over the road where there's a bar & grill available for guests which was great. The main restaurants were also terrific with even the buffet providing wonderful food choices. Obviously this was not a typical holiday & whilst we were there most of the hotels in the area were shutting down due to covid19 but the staff despite their own undoubted concerns did everything to ensure our stay was perfect & we were, in the end the last guests to leave. We met lots of guests that had visited numerous times & we completely understand why they did, the staff, all of them including gardeners, cleaning, chefs, bars & front desk were amazing an absolute credit to the resort. We'll definitely be joining the red band gang. thanks from Mat & Clare

A different boutique style of hotel to the norm - have a look

We selected this hotel due to its boutique-style, small number of rooms and different type of room to the norm. Firstly, express service bypassing queues (inbound only) at the airport on arrival - I'd not noticed this on the booking so pleasantly surprised, made us feel special from the start :-) About 1hr30 from the airport for transfer. Fresh towel, welcome drink & bell-boy service on arrival. Dark when we got there but rooms were pleasantly unique when it became light. Tree-house style, on stilts, set amongst well kept gardens/trees. Rooms were clean & airy with great balcony view and small porch separating the two-rooms, so in effect no neighbours, which is good for me as I'm a terribly light sleeper, which brings me to the only downside to the entire vacation. The resort is next to a road & I suspect no matter which room you're in you'll hear some road noise. Jamaican's seem to like loud cars & horns, but you do get used to it & it wasn't unbearable, just something to be aware of (I suspect all hotels in the area have the same issue). The resort is quiet later on after entertainment finishes otherwise. Cleaning & garden staff were pleasant, always saying hello. Cleaners did also ask if there was anything we needed. Food was good quality, tasty & varied to cater for all walks of life. Different themes each night. Buffet style in the evening but good to get table service during the day. The beach-bar food was also great. Occasionally some selections did run low & not replenished as quickly as I'd probably like but in fairness I'd pick something else rather than ask for it to be topped-up so maybe this wasn't a real issue, just something I think could have been monitored a bit more closely. (you won't go hungry :-) Entertainment was good enough to keep you from boredom & not generally overly-loud. All acts tried really hard to make you feel welcome & included. The pool looked clean & had a few sunbeds but it seemed most people, like us, headed for the private beach, just across the road. May seem an odd set-up but really a short walk & not a problem. The security guards always helped you across by stopping traffic, which was a nice touch & were always polite. Beach-bar service & life-guard staff were amazing. Made the whole stay real friendly (particularly AJ & Keegan). No trouble getting a sun-lounger, any time of the day. If you wanted a cabana, then you probably need to be a little earlier to the beach. That said, plenty of trees to provide shade if you needed it. On our anniversary, purely coincidental, the lifeguard and security guard sang to each other the song we first danced to on our wedding day, amazing LOL. Seemed to be two types of sunbed. One sort better than the other for tanning face-down, the other seemed to spring back up & a little more discomforting - don't let this put you off, just an observation. Beach staff always offered to locate beds & tables where you wanted them & offered bed-side drinks service. They were also red-hot on moving along anyone (traders, people who weren't staying at this hotel) from the area, particularly if they looked to be causing a nuisance. Hawkers weren't allowed on the private beach but can walk the waters-edge. You'll hear the constant ask to buy things (I suspect this is country-wide) but they'll move along with a polite no thank you. Some buskers were actually quite pleasant & really talented musicians. The beach was also raked daily but was clean and did not seem to suffer lots of sargassum seaweed like many placed in the Caribbean. Sea was also crystal clear, although not a lot to see snorkelling-wise. Resort grounds are quite small but worth a wander around. You'll see humming birds, woodpeckers & other small birds. Very few insects due to the daily 'fogging'. All in all I feel the decision to stay here was a great one & would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay. There certainly seemed to be a fair few repeat visitor from those we spoke to.Enjoy.
