There are better hotel's

flytrap55 (Norwich, United Kingdom) on Apr 11, 2024

My family and I (wife and son) stayed here for 2 nights before we drove down to Miami. On arrival at 10pm, we were greeted by Luiz. He didn't give us his name, have a name badge on, or even greet us, but I got his name as a colleague said goodbye to him as we were checking in. First of, like I say no hello or anything, then he was wearing his buds in (which I find really rude when talking to customers). Then he says I need a credit card. No explanation of why or how much they are going to take. Now I've travelled and I know you give a security deposit, but it varies, so I asked him how much. Well, you would have thought I had insulted his firstborn. We finally get checked in and sent to our room. Well, the room had no light switch. It's all lamps next to the beds and in the middle of the room. Which isn't great when you are checking in pitch black. After fumbling around with our phones, we found the light switches. Then we discovered the beds. They are supposedly queen-size. I say that is crap. Having stayed at 3 other hotels on international Drive, the beds at the Rossen Inn international are considerably smaller. My family and I are not large people, but it was a tight squeeze for my wife and I to share, so she had to share with my son. It's absolutely ridiculous. Then, to make matters worse, the alarm clock had been set to 6am, and the housekeeping staff hadn't turned it off. So the first morning after travelling for almost 20 hours the previous day we were woken at 6am. Like I said, there are better hotels on international drive.

Highly recommend

Dlancs (lancashire) on Apr 08, 2024

Been here a week, last day today. I have had a lovely stay with no problems at all. I have felt safe all holiday. The housekeeping do such an amazing job. Shout out to the amazing lady Sylverlene who cleaned my room. My bed was so comfortable and my room very clean. Tip- check the rooms digital alarm clock is set to OFF as mine went off 6.00am! If there's a power cut it automatically sets for this time when it switches back on. Phone chargers plug directly into the alarm clock to charge very quickly. There are scales to weigh luggage at the end of your stay. I got an extra hour til 12pm check out. It's $56 til 3pm. You can walk to Walmart from here in 20 minutes and get snacks so much cheaper than Walgreens or you use the Lyft app.

Don't Stay Here if you are Planning to go to Universal.

John S on Apr 08, 2024

Hotel advertises a "Free Shuttle" to Universal. You have to reserve a shuttle spot, but you CANT reserve it until you check in. Also you can only reserve it between 7AM and 11AM IN PERSON, so if you check in AFTER 11AM you will have to wait till the morning. I checked in at 4PM and went to the Shuttle desk right away and they told me come early tomorrow morning to get a spot because it fills up fast. I got the the desk at 6:30 and it was a ghost town. By the time 7 rolled around there were only 2 people behind me, so I really didn't have to "get there early". I was then told that the Shuttle is full... how is that even possible??? And if that was the case, why wouldn't the woman just tell me that yesterday and spare my time??? It also advertises a "Free Breakfest" but if you read the fine print you'll see that it's a paid breakfast.

It’s nice

AnaPaul1979 on Apr 06, 2024

We went for a family vacation and stayed two weeks. The welcome was great, hotel appeared to be well maintained (until you try to open your room door) The lady’s at the welcome was a little pushy trying to get us to go see another hotel near by even having said no and saying we were tired having just arrived she kept pushing the great deal on offer. Bit disappointed that we were only allowed one orange juice per person at breakfast but otherwise the food was good. Our room door was broken so we went to the front desk who sent security to our room (more suited for maintenance in my opinion but hay what would I know) - security tried to open the door after a few hard shoves that made the window rattle we were in but never did get it fixed. Rooms were clean but we had ants so had it cleaned daily just to combat them - we were ground floor so think the ants just had a way in not that the hotel was dirty Lovely pool area cleaned daily and fresh towels were available to use Bar staff were amazing Restaurant staff could maybe use a few more days of training The girl who sat us daily for breakfast never smiled or greeted us despite being clearly a group of 5 people she’d insist on sitting couples at tables for 5 or more so a few times we had to wait longer Restaurant staff were a bit slow to get drinks orders or bring said ordered drinks No one stood out as outstanding though the ladies in the shop came close Breakfast is served till 10;30am and daily the nearest toilets were being closed for cleaning between 0800 and 10am meaning the kids would have to be escorted by us back to our room to use the toilet

Family holiday

needhamlynda1 (Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom) on Apr 06, 2024

We stayed at the Rosen Inn International for two weeks and were amazed how close it was to Universal Studios and Icon Park. When we checked in the member of staff was polite and accommodating, putting us in rooms next to each other and informing us of everything we needed to know. When asked if cots had been put in the relevant rooms we were informed that they were being taken to the rooms. We were asked to go to the guest services desk to receive information of what is available around the area and once the lady had given us our information she kept trying to make us arrange a visit to a nearby hotel and when we said no she was not very accommodating. After a long flight and dropping our cases in the rooms we went for something to eat and my daughter and daughter-in-law went back to reception to enquire about the cots and were told there wasn't any available. After a long and quite heated conversation with the manager it was resolved and cots were allocated from one of their other hotels. The rooms were cleaned regularly and comfortable but quite dated with magnolia walls and dark wood furnishings, the rooms did have a separate utility area with microwave, fridge and coffee making facilities but this was also were the sink area for the separate bathroom was so it was quite cramped. There are two pools for the hotel, one in our apartment block with a toilet available but no baby pool and a pool in the next block with a baby pool but no toilet facilities!! We used the one with the baby pool due to having little ones with us and never had an issue with beds and the hotel provided clean pool towels daily, these were stored at the end of the gated pool area and had a separate wash bin when you had finished with the towels. The onsite shop was handy for last minute bits and they also sold hot food and coffee for convenience and ease. We didn't get around to using the onsite restaurant but we did use the onsite bar and pool table a couple of times. Taxis were easy to get and pick up and drop off was from outside of the reception. We used Mears Taxis and had to get two mini buses when we did use them, you must inform them if you require child seats/booster seats as they can provide them, most taxi companies including Lyft and Uber won't take you without the correct child seat, there are private taxi companies that are around and about that will take you without the correct seats but you could receive a penalty if stopped by the police. Taxis also have a pickup point at the disney parks if you haven't pre-booked a return. I would definitely recommend using the i-trolley and Lynx buses. The i-trolley was easy for Universal Studios (although we did walk it a couple of times) Shopping outlets and Seaworld and the Lynx transfer to Downtown Disney both really cheap. The downside to using the buses is you have to put all of the prams down and there is anywhere to store them so busy journeys were fun!
