Great hotel with friendly staff! Close to Epcot and Hollywood studios! Walk or ride the boat! Great pool and gift shop! Just across the lake from Boardwalk!! We usually stay at Contemporary but I would stay at Yacht Club again!!

I gave this rating a 3 star review for reasons not related to, as a hotel in general, being clean, well-appointed with helpful staff. Great beds and pillows, but we’ve found Disney has equipped all the resorts we’ve stayed in, even the Values, with excellent beds and pillows. But for a Deluxe, pricey resort, their marketplace for snacks, etc., was disappointing. Their Disney store was bland, stale, and monochromatic with weird nautical-themed shirts and similar items of no interest - unlike the other resort stores that are fun to browse. Usually, we can’t keep our two teen granddaughters out of the resort shops but they didn’t even go near the YC store. Overall, this hotel lacked the Disney ambience. We have stayed in many other Disney resorts on property and this is the first one we’ve felt so removed from the Disney experience. For us the whole resort seemed odd and sterile. It did not have a warm feel - more like stepping into a vacuum and out of time, maybe where the wealthy from the Hamptons would stay, I don’t know. The reason we stay at a resort on Disney property is to enjoy the continuation of all things unique to Disney and we felt this had been left out with Yacht Club. Everyone has their favorite Disney resort(s) and to each his own, but to myself and my family Yacht Club is anywhere-expensive-resort-USA. The proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is a plus, but not enough to ever stay here again.

We arrived late Friday evening, so perhaps that is why it slipped their mind, but we were not told by staff of the Enormous pool in the back, so we missed 3 days of using it. (It is quite lovely) The hotel smelled nice throughout, except for the last 2 days they must have been renovating a room and it smelled like ammonia in our hall. Certainly not a bad stay, just for our first Disney experience, I left underwhelmed for the amount of money it cost. I would not dissuade anyone from staying there, but I'm not sure I would do it again.

    One of my favorites

The yacht club is one of my favorite places to stay in Disney. You can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Boats to either park are also readily accessible. Boardwalk is just across the way with restaurants and bars. They share the pool with Beach Club which is the best pool on Disney property.

Parking Security officer was extremely racist and rude

The security officer at the parking entrance was extremely racist and rude to me. When I checked in for a visitor parking, the security guard interrogated me and rudely pointed me to parking. He's in his 70s, has excessive skin under his neck and shakes a lot. Certainly a bad representation of what a cast member should be.
