Nice hotel but the cart traffic is intrusive and constant and noisy even by pools especially 810 pool

The cart traffic in room areas 800-1600 is annoying and constant all day in guest areas. Other hotels have perimeter access behind guest areas for carts. Hotel garden are gorgeous! The scent of orange trees is intoxicating . Food is good at the Mexican restaurant, chicken enchilada verde are yummy! The marketplace has slow service 15 min to get a coffee this morning as the older gal making the coffees spent more time yacking than making the coffee. Rooms are clean but tired need a refresh. Trying spa on Sunday. The general manager should spend some time on balcony in 1669 to see just how many carts go by these rooms it’s at least a cart every 3 min. Too much-need a back entrance
More mutton than lamb!

Parts of this hotel are excellent. The tennis courts, the grounds, the setting etc. However parts are basically tired/shabby! Mid century architecture abounds in the area but you dont expect it to extend to your bathroom ! Ours looked like it was put in in 1950 complete with a wierd shower/toilet combo! All of this in a strange corridor behind the bedroom which was part Psycho part Shining in its strangeness. Bar service ranged from mild disinterest to full on surly and was not helped by overpriced drinks (price+tax+service+"do you want to leave a tip?" - no i dont!) served in plastic glasses!! Who does this? Answer no one! Ok maybe a 5 year olds party. Reception service was ponderous with Post Office style queuing and woe betide anyone who stepped forward before being called. Whilst some reception staff were excellent (lady with blonde hair) others were basically unhelpful or ill informed, or both. Main pool warm but cracked concrete abounded and a lime chunk and a used plaster sat defiantly poolside for all 5 days of our visit. Bizarre sign gave phone numbers of nearest hospitals in font size 100 which added to the somewhat Eastern European atmosphere . Breakfast surreal and on first day waiter bought bill before bringing food which was a first. In conclusion its very much a Resort hotel coasting on past glories - a luxury 5 star hotel it aint! However area and setting stunning and did not dissapoint in any way. Tennis at Indian Wells drop dead amazing, cable car to snowline a must and tour of Hollywood stars houses wierdly fascinating, even Pickleball way less tragic than i imagined!
