Our 3 year old girl was rollover by a bellboy with a luggage cart while we were waiting to check in despite my wife telling him to be careful because there were a kid close to her. We had to expend the whole afternoon in the doctor office in the hotel then in a nearby hospital in order to take her an x rays on her left knee. Thanks god everything was ok with her just some bruises and the big scare we had. At least the hotel took care of everything. The family room we were assigned was not comfortable. The air conditioning were not working fine and the bathroom didn't have shampoo and hair conditioner. The beds were old and had deformations, we were not able to rest at all. The a la carte restaurants were all full and the buffet food was regular, nothing special. The only good thing was the kids pool our little girl enjoyed the little time we were able to spend there since we lost a whole afternoon the day before. It was not a good stay overall.

My wife and I went on our first ever all inclusive trip for our 20th anniversary. It was better than what we expected. We felt safe within the resort. We liked not having to worry about carrying cash to pay for anything.

Very disappointed in the food quality and lack of entertainment. I read reviews before selecting this resort, but many of the bad ones were canceled out by the next one, so I took a chance. The bad food reviews were dead on. The only entertainment was tremendously loud and hard to hear becaose of the loudness.

BYOW to dinner. Isla Saona? HA! Cheap- booze- party cruise, no thanks.

It is a nice hotel for the most part. There is a swim-up bar at one of the pools and multiple restaurants on-site to choose from. However, you might as well bring bottles of water with you because you will never get a drink at the restaurant behind the pool. I don't know about you, but I don't want to look at annoyed waitress that you have to hunt down to get some water. Give me a break. Be aware of the excursions offered as well...we did the Isla Saona excursion expecting to see Isla Saona. granted, yes, we stopped for about 40 minutes to swim on a sand bar area which was cool, but that was the highpoint of the day. You get bused from the hotel to the ocean point of departure, after stopping at a gas station to shuffle people around, then again shuffled into a souvenir shop. Fine if you are looking for that. We paid for Isla Saona. You go out either on a motor boat and return on a catamaran, which we did, or vice versa. The trip out was ok except for being completely overcrowded. you stop to swim on the sandbar, then off to Isla Saona. However, all you see of Isla Saona is the shoreline and immediate small beach. Bring your water shoes, though. Full of rocks! We were then served a buffet lunch of rice, chicken, and salads which was ok, but controlled portions by a woman there. Crappy beer, water, cheap drinks included. Pina coladas are $10. Lobsters were $60. Whatever... no thanks. There are locals selling there other goods there, as well as offering massages. Help out the locals if you can with a small purchase. After a little bit more of swim-time, we have to go back. There needs to be more attention paid to safety here, though, as the boat that you have to get into does not offer any type of safe entry. You must grab onto the ladder and be at the mercy of the ocean waves, There needs to be a better set-up for docking somehow, as I am sure there have been injuries. Be careful! The trip back is where things went downhill.... We wanted Isla Saona, not a cheap booze party cruise back on the catamaran. The is Dominican Republic! Where is your Presidente beer, your Brugal? Your Barcelo? They served us cheap no-name rum which we tasted and tossed. Horrible. You would think that the around $100 pp cost would cover decent liquor on the island and boat and not some crappy rum that who knows where it came from??!!! Also, you would think that you would be better prepared for torrential rain...offering ponchos, or covering for everyone. Completely miserable.
