Amazing 10 days will definitely return

I just wanted to come on and write this review as before I arrived I read so many bad reviews and I must say to not listen to any of them! I could not fault this hotel in anyway, it was absolutely exceptional. We will be returning and will most definitely be returning to this hotel. We will be recommending this hotel to everyone! It was 100% a 5 star hotel the grounds were beautiful, the resort was kept immaculate and I have never been to a complex where all of the staff work as hard as they work at this hotel. Nothing was ever an issue! We came on our honeymoon as a couple in their 30s we were given the honeymoon suite and were given the platinum package, it was so worth it! The beach bar for lunch is amazing, the pool with the swim up bar is the best one to go to.. the animation team were fantastic! The bar above the beach hut was our favourite bar, the cocktails were brilliant. The coffee shop was wonderful. We did not eat in the same restaurant once, we used the app and booked a different restaurant every night. We went on two excursions one to Saona island and the other to the dolphin explorer all booked through TUI they were completely safe and really enjoyable cannot fault TUI at all. Everything was exceptional and we thoroughly had the best stay! Please thank all of your staff for their amazing work and making us enjoy our stay!

We have had the best time here at Caribe Deluxe Princess! The service has been exceptional. A special shout out to Stephanie from the bar who has taken care of us every single night. She is so kind and always remembers our order, she has really made our trip that much better.

I Do Not Recommend, 3 Star at best.

Overall this resort was not worth the cost, and we would not return or recommend it to anyone. I would rate it as a 3 Star at best. Pros: - Beautiful Resort physically - Amazing beach with soft white sand - Most staff were friendly and hard working - Massages at the Spa were very good - Italian Restaurant was good and Japanese Teppanyaki was excellent. - Bed was very comfortable. - Shower was excellent and lots of hot water Cons: - Three people in our group of six became very sick with GASTRO. - Buffet was the same food every day, no variety and unappetizing, overall the poorest food quality and choice from any resort I have ever visited, and I've been 13 times. ( no bacon in the morning, orange drink mix for orange juice, rubbery meat, mushy vegetables, bland desserts, a crepe station used to grill sandwhiches???, little fruit choice....) - When we arrived to our ground level room the lock was not working on the patio doors. We called for maintenance and were told someone would be "right over", 3 hours later it was still not fixed. We finally moved to another room, and upgraded to the "Platinum Service" at our own expense of $560 US per couple. - Platinum Service gives you nothing of any value for the cost except a more comfortable beach bed. However, the double beach beds were laid out with only one umbrella for shade between 4 people!!! When I requested another umbrella I was told yes, but it never arrived. - You still have to get up at the crack of dawn to claim a beach bed or they would all be gone. - Only two very high pillows on the bed, when we requested two more pillows we were told it "was not possible". We tried to explain two pillows would be fine, we just needed flatter pillows to sleep in comfort and again were told "this is not possible". Restless nights and neck pain resulted from a pillow that was double normal height. - The bed spread was new, but so stiff and uncomfortable we had to remove it from the bed. - The "relaxation pool" at the spa (included in Platinum Service) neglected to mention that it had to be booked in advance, and you could only stay for 20 min!!! Also very small! - slow wifi - The air conditioning in rooms is set to 20 C and can not be lowered, ours was also squeaky. We had to turn it off at night to fall asleep, but then get up and turn it on again...repeat. - The drawers in our closet were broken - The safe is located in a low dresser so you have to bend over to see in it or get on your knees...just annoying

Not worth the money

Online this hotel looks beautiful, in reality it is not worth the money we paid. The beach is beautiful but the sea , being The Atlantic, is too rough to swim in. The hotel grounds are lovely, but as you walk around you notice cracked or missing tiles. Easy to trip up on. Then the pool has green slime on the edge which looks like it's been there a long time. It's not in the water though, so it's not a problem. Playing in the pool, which looks lovely, you will notice that the surface has huge holes where plaster has broken away. My son cut 3 toes whilst in the pool. Our room was the biggest on the floor, but the air conditioning was horrendous. It was very noisy and the air vents were hanging off. The Tui rep said it would be fixed, but this never happened. We were offered another room, but declined as we would be getting a smaller room than what we paid for. Food in the morning was ok lots of fruit, yoghurt and continental plus eggs being cooked fresh. Lunch and dinner were very poor, the meat inedible and dry, all the veg was dripping in oils and butter and not even hot. A la carte restaurants were much nicer, so we used those for 5 meals. On our last day my husband ate salad and coleslaw which made him very ill for 24 hours. The hotel staff were friendly, but avoid the staff wearing bright orange t shirts as they are pushing you to join "the holiday club" . They want you to part with your cash and then exclusively use their Princess hotels globally. We told them we weren't interested but they kept following us and got quite annoyed when we walked away. Check out was a complete farce. We had a late check out room so took our own luggage up to the lobby. Of course this was wrong as we should get the bellboy to collect our luggage 2 hours prior to leaving. Kind of defeats the object of late check out. Anyway security snatched our luggage out of our hands and said we had no proof it was ours as we didn't have a ticket from the bellboy. We explained to them what we had done and they just shouted at us resulting in my son getting very scared and upset. The minibus driver helped my husband get our cases and we left. He apologised for their behaviour but it wasn't his fault. Mosquitos are residents in your room too. We got bitten several times during the night despite using wristbands and repellent spray. Several other guests complained of the same thing happening to them. Outside the hotel it is not safe to walk about so only leave the hotel on an organised trip or in a taxi. There are guys touting trips and asking repeatedly for money. We were told 1500 peso for a catamaran trip by Sea pro because they are the best. We booked via TUI and pad 1100 peso. It was a lovely trip to Saona island and the beautiful calm Caribbean sea to swim in. Sadly this paradise holiday was far from that and I would 100% not return to this hotel. Total waste of money.

Disappointing

This is a family resort. I was embarrassed for the parents that had to pull their kids from watching the nightly show. The name of it was “Mr. Caribe.” They pulled four random men from the audience and basically the audience was to vote on who grinded against the wall best and who performed the best lap dance on the center performer. It was so embarrassing to watch. In addition, the food has been horrible. I went to the French restaurant with a French man and neither of us could eat anything there. Sub-par at best.
