    Great entertainment poolside

    Peluche was an amazing host, he keep us entertained daily poolside. Peluche was able to engage with everyone and made sure that everyone enjoyed the holiday. My group and I will definitely return to this beautiful location, such a joyful experience.

    First time in Punta Cana (Not Dominican Republic) and first time at this wonderful resort Ocean Blue. Mucho Gracias to the wonderful staff . Some people have no respect for others. We reserved a tabled at the Mexican restaurant "Margarita" on Thursday evening (Nov 7, 2019) for a nice quiet dinner with friends. A group of 10-12 people we sitting at a nearby table near the window/entrance , celebrating some friends 50th birthday. These people were so loud that they were disrupting other guests and us then the noise became so unbearable, we got up to leave before we could order. Other guests around were bothered by the noise, the restaurant staff offered us to move to another section but the noise was still unbearable so we left. These people showed their utmost disrespect for others, only thinking of their enjoyment. Mr. Nelson Batista in a letter apologized for the noise. Mr. Batista, thank you for your letter, you should not have to apologize for the behavior of disrespectful guest. Our room were amazing, spacious balcony and room, shower and whirlpool tub and a sitting area as well. Food is great no matter where you eat. The cleaning staffs are amazing, mini fridge well stocked.. One little thing, it would be nice to have some coffee mate or coffee whitener in the rooms. The beach was amazing, the pools incredible, not enough umbrellas around the pool though, We had an amazing time, a fabulous holidays at Ocean Blue, thank you a memorable time.     Just spent 1 week there and this place is amazing. They seem to be doing a lot of renovations, but unfortunately our room had not gone through one yet - it was old, cracks on the wall, looked dirty, old furniture. Room was spacious. We did not get a pool view room, but that was just as well for us. While the view was really not good, we did not use our balcony at all so we did not care. Besides, the room was very quiet. We brought a laptop and HDMI cable to watch late night NETFLIX and it was great. The resort has great wifi everywhere! - including in the rooms and pool side. It was definitely a plus as we didn't think it would work this well. The food was spectacular. A la carte restaurants do not need reservations, but beware - the steak house gets line ups pretty quickly and they do not seem to open every night of the week. If you go at around 6h30pm you should be seated pretty much without wait. The indoor menu of the steakhouse is not the same as outdoor. If you choose indoor, do yourself a favour and only order a medium rare Picanha as main course - my god, it was divine. So delicious. We did go to the Diner and Mexican, but really, I don't think we would return - the menu was nothing to write home about. We did not try the italian, french or japanese restaurants. Late check out is $10 per additional hour to maximum until 5pm, pending availability. However, they will not let you reserve it in advance, not even the night before. You must go line up between 9 and 10am of your checkout date to inquire. We were only able to get it until 2pm, but they will of course store your luggage while you still use the facilities throughout the day. Do not forget to return your beach towels by 5h30pm on the date of departure, so you get your towel cards back. Without those, you cannot check out and they will ask you for the check out ticket before you are allowed to leave the resort. The staff is really friendly, however, if I am honest, the table service was very poor in attention to your order as well as wait times. Either at the buffet or at the a la carte, our drinks always took so long to arrive! Sometimes at the a la carte we were already on course #2 and the drinks had not arrived yet. Drinks at the bars were always very very weak - seemed the alcohol was watered down. However, drinks at the a la carte restaurant were on fire haha Mike's coffee shop was just the best. The friendliest staff, quaint facilities and coffees and snacks all day long anyway your heart desires. Just amazing. They have a handy shuttle train that goes around the resort from the reception area to the beach through the buildings where the rooms are - very good. Works from 7am to 2am and it gives you a rest from walking in the sun. There is also a duty free shop and a general convenience shop as well. They accept US dollars or major credit cards. The beach is very small, and crowded with chairs. We did not spend time there at all as it was near impossible to get chairs or an umbrella - plus it was crowded. The pool was equally crowded, and judging by the amount of chairs they had, it really seems they do not have enough umbrellas. Shade is really prime real estate there, so arrive early. The gentleman at the bowling and games centre was fantastic. Very attentive.They offer bowling, table tennis, pool and some sort of board game. Free of charge. One thing we REALLY disliked was the soliciting around the resort. The SPA is right in front of the buffet entrance, and every single day we got harassed by the SPA staff trying to get us to book a massage. Then when you are at the pool, all day long folks keep coming trying to get you to book tours, massages and other things. Finally, they also allow outside vendors to set up tables around the main plaza of the resort. They sell souvenirs and other crafts - and they will borderline harass you to stop and take a look. They stop you and give you a free bracelet and necklace and then hold you up until you go to their stand. We did not enjoy that AT ALL. We appreciate the resort opening for locals to come and sell their craft, however, they should be allocated to a specific area and the guests should be welcome to go there if they want to. Instead, they are located on the main intersections, so it is impossible to escape them if you are not interested. Very very uncomfortable. Overall, this was an excellent resort - we would definitely return.

    We just returned from this resort, first time to Punta Cana, have been to many all inclusive resorts over the years. We were very impressed with resort and it’s amenities. The one thing we loved is you didn’t have to pre book the al le cartes which was awesome! We tried most of them and they were all very good. The entertainment team at this resort is top notch!!!!!!! Shout out especially Pokémon, Maricel, and Chocolate. They always are making sure the guests are having fun and interacting with all guests from the kids to the seniors ??. We also loved the bartender in the lobby who was always singing he was a lot of fun!!! A special shout out to Marino in the piano bar he went out of his way to ensure your experience at this bar. He roasted peanuts for us and the night we were leaving he made sure to come and say good bye and thanked us. What makes this resort special are the people working there and the service they provide! We would return in a heartbeat!

    I have just returned from the Ocean Blue & Sand, I only have positive today ! The grounds are well maintained and super clean. The beach is nice, the big black barriers in the front do take away from the view. However, it stops erosion ! The restaurants are all good, we did one a night and were never disappointed ! The Boulevard always has something going on, and great for hanging at in the evenings ! The rooms were clean and nice, fridge stocked daily, no complaints at all ! The very best part of our vacation was hanging by the pool, the service was awesome. We stayed at the quiet pool, and Manuel the bartender is awesome ! Christina, the waitress and bus girl, was the very best part of this trip. She was pleasant, efficient and saw to our needs even before we knew we needed anything. Her attention to customer service and the cleanliness of the pool area was phenomenal. Thank you so much Christina, you will see us again. Jo-Anne
