I will start off by say this was the best vacation/birthday getaway I've been on in awhile. The resort is beautiful upon arrival. The staffs were amazing for the most part, Juan at receptions was awesome with us, i ask for a room on the top floor he told me that those rooms cost more as i booked for a standard room with ocean view i told him it was my moms birthday the next day and we would really love a top floor. After talking with his supervisor he gave up the room for no additional charge. Catch 20/20 the room can really use an upgrade especially the bathroom, however for the simple fact that i ask for the higher floor and there where so good about it, I did not complain. We meet Deryls (spelling could be wrong) she's in the excursion dept. she is the best. She is the friendliest person ever, and she she gave us a good deal on the adventure buggy tour. Alexandra she is super friendly in the dining room attends to our needs and is never without a smile. for the most part the staffs we great. The only thing that we really had issues with was the food choices and the fact the dinners were not buffet option nightly. So word for the wise if you love food and a good portion size you need to order two entrée as the portions are very small. one must try is the French dining, Lobster Crepes, its to die for, hands down the best thing i ate while there. We went to the plaza for souvenir shopping, yes it looks like a ghost plaza all the windows are covered, and just look like something from the wild wild west. the first store that we went to they had a man making cigar and the lady who is very pushy in trying to force you to buy things, if you don't need it don't buy it from her as she is a rip off. she wanted to sell me the little box of cigar for $30. while every other store has it for $15. There are 4 stores in the plaza and they are all cheaper and than that first store we went to. However, my first visit to Punta Cana was simply amazing. As my mom said it was the best birthday ever.

My experience as a Travel Agent

I recommended this place for a girl's trip. As a travel agent, I wanted to bless my clients with a package. I reached out via email a week and a half before my client's trip to order the basket. I received an email, letting me know they will send me the brochure. I never received it and after 2 emails and a call, I got an email on the day my client arrived and they stated they would give them a complimentary fruit basket. My client is home now not thrilled about the resort and she never received a gift basket. I will not recommend this place for any of my clients.

I could even recommend this all-inclusive resort: the rooms and common areas though not new at all are still photo-worthy the pools look refreshing and inviting. The beach, absolutely stunning are kept clean from bladderwrack seaweed. HOWEVER the food had little variety or didn't have a good taste or appearance and some of the cooks were even negligent when filling your order of, say, breakfast omelete. They had in-your-face, pool-side "private" dinners where, ok, you had to pay extra, but were not given a chance (or were not properly informed) to buy a pass. Paid about $400 for three nights. I'll always try to be fair and objective in my reviews.

    Beautiful, but very limited

I will start by saying that this is a beautiful resort. Very clean and updated. Check-in and check-out were pretty fast. Juan at the front desk didn't seem to know anything and lied to us about a lot. More info to come. Covid test- Juan told us the Doctor was there daily from 7am-11am, was $10pp and takes 48 hours to get results. We woke the kids up at 650am to get in line. The Doctor didn't arrive until 845am. It actually cost $25 pp and you get results back in 1 hour. Restaurants - the food was pretty good. We ate at the Seafood and Italian. Both had a lot of options. All restaurants require reservations which need to be made daily between 7am-3pm. We arrived at 4pm and were told by Juan that we had to eat at the buffet that night. Surprise...the buffet is closed at night. Its only open for breakfast and lunch. Bars - the only bar open was just outside the lobby. Not very convenient while sitting at the pool. Alexis Martinez was an awesome bartender! Rooms - on the smaller side, but very nice and clean. All rooms face the ocean and have a balcony. Mini bar was just a tiny fridge with water and soda. I have stayed at 3 AI in the DR and 3 in Mexico during Covid so I am aware that the resorts are not operating at full capacity, but this was the worst by far. There were NO activities, very limited food and even more limited drinks. Right now its not worth the money, but I will be back when it opens up fully. It would be nice for them to update their website with what is open at this time.
