We spent August 10 to 17 at Zoetry Agua resort outside of Punta Cana. From the moment we booked our trip, I had many questions Juan Carlos immediately responded to my questions and addressed my needs. After hearing the great reviews and receiving such immediate attention, I had high hopes for this vacation, which were surpassed. From arrival to departure, every detail was highly and closely managed by Juan Carlos, the manager before arrival and then Alejandro, our concierge, upon arrival. We have been to many all- inclusive resorts across the Caribbean and the US and Zoetry has been our best experience yet. Alejandro not only checked in regularly with us but anticipated our needs, things we wouldn't even think of that really make your romantic vacation that sweeter. He ensured we got all of the package offerings but then also went above and beyond to make those and other events we booked even more special and memorable. He arranged spa appointments, made sure I had sparkling wine waiting for me every evening to enjoy before and after dinner, a special Anniversary dinner at Olena (our favorite restaurant) and a private dinner on our terrace our last evening. He also arranged for a traditional Dominican breakfast in our room one morning. He honored and fullfilled every request and question. I cannot say enough about Alejandro's dedication and care he gave us. I will request him on my trip back. About the spa... Amazing atmosphere, incredible service and first rate classes and treatments. They offer everything wellness for the whole mind and body that you could dream for. My only drawback was that I wished I could have spent more time there and have more vacation days to spend taking the wellness classes. The yoga teacher is amazing!!! She took so much time with those who needed to learn how to do poses properly. She gave you encouragement and praise that you were doing well and taking good care of yourself. We don't hear that enough. I hope to keep her mantra and advice going while I return to the realities of life. We had several spa treatments with Ana, Doris, Olga, and Yessie?? My husband says his were amazing and mine were as well. Very professional, supportive, and extremely relaxing. Between the yoga, meditation, and spa treatments as well as the comfortable bed in our room, my husband and I, who are horrible sleepers, slept the best we have in a very long time. The restaurants... There are a lot of mixed reviews about the food and I think food is about personal choices, the spices you are accostumed to using, the type of vegetables, meat, seafood you have available to you. I would ask what was in the food and ask for adjustments if I didn't like something such as eliminating cilantro. I grew up with the east Coast seafood so I knew certain Caribbean seafood is not what I am used to so had an open mind. Their cattle is also raised differently than in the states so it's important to ask them for their suggestions on how to have it prepared. Their recipes are different from the way you may cook as well. For instance I ordered shrimp scampi and it was not the dish my Italian mother taught me to make, it had shrimp, red and yellow peppers and garlic oil/butter with lemon. Once I knew what to expect I appreciated their way of making Dominican- Italian shrimp scampi and it was delicious!! I didn't like the cooked salmon dish at Piragua, but enjoyed the salmon sushi at the pool bar. Also there was a tuna tartar dish at Amaya that was very good. With all of this being said, the chefs and wait staff go out of their way to ensure you enjoy what you eat and accommodate requests within their ability and they all impressed us with the level of attention they provided us. We enjoyed seeing the same staff, such as Ambrosio, every morning, evening, and afternoon. Ambrosio (I hope I am spelling his name right) and his team got to know us very well by seeing us so frequently every day. They knew us by name, room number, food and drink preferences and always worked to make our meals were delicious and pleasurable. They make you comfortable with the extras. Our room... Ocean front deluxe and stunning. We spent a lot of time enjoying our room, ocean view, plunge pool, and the amenities that our amazing house keeper provided us. I should have wrote names down before I left. She took wonderful care of us. Our room was clean, we never wanted for anything, she anticipated what we needed and took care of it. Always a creative surprise on our bed to come back to. She is a truly trained and highly valued professional. Every single employee at Zoetry goes above and beyond to make your trip special and memorable. Everyone of the staff greeted you with a smile and asking if there is anything they can do for you. Even the gardner's stopped to talk with me and ask how is your stay, is there anything you need. Even if it's not something that they cannot assist, they will get you someone who will. Zoetry hires, trains, and develops their staff to a professional level, so I do hope that means that they also nurture and take care of them as well as their guests. Speaking of being a guest... I never felt like a guest or that they were merely doing a job. I felt genuine hospitality and a desire to please by almost everyone. The beach... Cleaned daily and minimal seaweed in the water. My only recommendation is to have the tractor come before 9:00 a.m because it does stir up the bugs for a bit. However I think they may been trying to clean it at low tide. The seaweed was only near the waters edge and you could step over it; there was not much of it in the water. I wore water shoes to protect my feet in case of coral. You don't need them but I felt more secure with them on. My husband went barefoot and had no problems. Cigars and rum... We were highly dissappointed in the prices: $90 for a bottle of rum that we can get in US for under$25. I can get Dominican Cohibas for 1/4 of the price that they were charging for some of their higher end cigars. I warned my husband about this because of other reviews. He did buy some because he wanted to support the man, who accompanied the store sales man and was hand rolling cigars. These were slightly more reasonably priced, were good, and we hope we actually did support him and his local business. We also bought some mamajuana. Haven't opened it yet... One suggestion is to inquire about food allergies during registration and for dining purposes so that the restaurant, room service, and concierge are prepared for you. It didn't impact our time or food services however I am allergic to strawberries and I can't tell you how many times we were given chocolate covered strawberries and special strawberries desserts sent to us. My husband enjoyed every one of them. Once Alejandro knew, he made sure I got special desserts and treats too. Like pineapples and pears!! Very yummy. Also adding air-conditioning to Olena and Piragua would be very helpful especially for those who actually do adhere to the dress code. However, Ambrosio knew my husband got overheated and would direct fans on him to make him comfortable. Indigo was closed during our stay. This a very long winded review. It compiles my thoughts of just spending an amazing vacation with the most wonderful people. We also met some great guests and enjoyed our time with them. Think about what you want and need and just ask if they don't already provide it for you, you shall receive.. within reason of course. I look forward to when we can return to Zoetry Agua and will look forward to new openings at other Zoetrys.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Zoetry resort. The resort is the perfect place to getaway and the staff is so welcoming. We were very lucky to work with Alejandro during our stay. He made sure each day was special, especially my birthday. From the champagne to the chocolate covered strawberries, he ensured our vacation was to be remembered. We enjoyed the activities offered at the resort. One of my favorites was painting on the beach. The spa is also very beautiful! I could’ve spent the day there! I would strongly recommend Zoetry if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation. It was very hard to leave!

This truly was the most relaxing place we have ever been. This a a very quiet resort for relaxing! There are still lots of things to do such as: cocktail class with Domingo at the bar by the pool. We made the most delicious ginger mojito! There was also different live music every night! The rooms are spacious and cool! The maid service is excellent. They clean the room 3 times per day and leave creative flower arrangements. The spa was also amazing with Santo and Rojo providing excellent massages for my husband and I. They have an excellent sauna and steam rooms and well as her pools. It is very serene. Enrique was our Butler for the week and it was a pleasure getting to know him as he looked for ways to provide excellent customer service including finding me some extra chocolate!!! The food at all the restaurants was amazing! We love the options at each restaurant. Or if you choose you can order room service 24/7 which was also amazing! The beach was set up with very comfortable lounging chairs, couches, hammocks etc... I would highly recommend this all inclusive resort, and we would love to return!

Not really a good quality /price ratio

Although well kept small resort, I do not understand the overwhelming reports. Food is very common and not to write home about as some people do. The service is quite slow and bumbling in spite of the efforts of some personel, being the lunch restaurant the best of them all. I even had some light food poisoning from somehing I ate.The rooms are ok even if the AC does not work properly and makes a lot of noise. The beach was not pleasant and the lack of good beach chairs in suficienty quantity is evident. Unless you do not mind to be in an unconfortable beach chair with no shadow. The beach bar although seemed popular with people staying there all day at it, was not a place to be... the water around it looked pretty dirty (oiled). The main bar had two excellent professionals, a guy that really enjoyed his work and that paired very well with a very polite and happy girl and some days a very badly mannered guy who really should not be there. We had chosen this resort mainly because it seemed different from the mass resorts all over the DR, expecting good food and service, great spirits and good beach, but the reality proved not to be so. We had seven days there that were ok but nothing special, moreover taking in consideration the price paid. We have been in other resorts paying half the price and getting better memories than in Zoetry. Suffice to say that because of these holidays that were supposed to be the main holidays this year, we are now going to the Maldives

This place is beyond amazing!!! Everything from the food to the views are out of a storybook. Although all of that is amazing it’s the service that makes this place stand out from the rest. They are wait on you hand a foot and treat you like you are the only people at the resort. Dio, Jennsy, and Domingo at the pool bar made the trip for us. They had us smiling and laughing from the minute we woke up until the last drink was served for the night. They are truly amazing and just great people. Our concierge Dio and our front desk attendant Enrique were also spot on. Every want or need we desired they took care of. We will definitely be back to see our friends Domingo and Dio as soon as we possibly can!!!!
