Ocean Maya Royale

My boyfriend and I spent 7 nights at Ocean Maya Royale, we decided not to upgrade to privilege but had a beautiful ocean view room close to the beach and pool! I can't believe some of the bad reviews I've read on here, some people must be that miserable that they complain every little thing... it's ashame. Sure this is not the fanciest/most luxurious resort we've stayed at and I'm not picky, but we never ate anything we didn't like, we thought the food was very good! Breakfast omelets were always amazing at the buffet, so many other different and fresh ptions! For lunch we would either do the buffet or the poolside grill where they had burgers, hot dogs, nachos, etc that was all very good too! There were 2 a la Carte restaurants open each night and you don't need a reservation except for hibachi, we liked not having a set time schedule. All the food was great especially the hibachi and steaks at the French and Italian! What really makes this place amazing is the staff! They were all so kind and always greeted is with a smile, always happy to serve you! Don't forget to tip, this goes a long ways!!! They remembered us and what we liked to drink within a couple days! Some favorite bartenders that I can recall, Ebem at the pool bar, Oly at the lobby bar and especially Jojo!! (yovinetti) She is so fun, sweet and special, she has an extra spring in her step and never left us without a drink(or 2) in our hands, I was so sad to leave her!! They do not skimp on the booze here either, it's the real deal and all the different drinks I tried were so yummy! Sexy Papi (Arturo) is really makes this resort so much fun!!! He gets everyone involved in the activities, he makes you feel like you're hanging out with a friend! Loved the beach & pool volleyball, bingo, karaoke, trivia and other activities throughout the week. The only negative thing I'd say is the staff trying to give you the "breakfast tour" to show you their other resort.. timeshare or membership type thing, they would ask you every day...and the spa people would ask you about a massage every day, but weren't too pushy once you said no. The swim up bar was closed which was very sad for me, but understandable. Also like others have said the beach isn't the best with the boardwalk in the middle and I thought this would bother me but honestly it didn't, I was able to sit by the beach and swim, if you're facing the beach and walk to the left go to the lagoon and swim/snorkel, it's beautiful!!! They did a good job with everything that's going on and made you feel safe.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The welcome was very good, the entertainers are on top, smiling, kind, attentive, very present with hotel guests (special dedication to Arthuro, Rodriguo and Oscar). The animations are also good, they are varied. Regarding the All inclusive, this is really what we were looking for, the food was very good and varied, several restaurants in the hotel. The waiters are very nice (Manuel who is very smiling and helpful). The room was clean. The hotel is very well maintained, as is the area surrounding the hotel. We loved it and would recommend this hotel without hesitation. The value for money is there and the service too.

My husband, myself and a couple of friends had a really fun time at Ocean Maya Royale. From the time we arrived Edwardo Fernaudo helped us with everything we needed. The butler Alex was also very helpful. They all went out of their way to make our stay the best possible - especially with the Co-Vid constraints. Could not have asked for a better time.

My wife and I had a fun time at Ocean Maya Royale. The staff were all great and went out of their way to make our stay great!!! We enjoyed the food, drinks and the fun times with the entertainment staff!!

If not privileged you cannot get a ala carte restaurant. Buffett horrible. Daphne at front desk was so rude. Utterly so disappointed in this resort. What a waste of money. Every time we asked for simple things like turn on football game in sports bar told no. Here for 8 days. Got deathly I’ll for 3 days from food. Every time we asked for something they said no due to pandemic. Online hotel portal to order room service always crashed. Not worth paying for 8 days of buffet food that makes you so ill. Even breakfast Buffett had to wait 30 minutes just to get a omelette. So sad I wasted my years savings for vacation for this horrible place. Warning. Cancel now. I’m still here and can’t wait to leave this awe full place tomorrow.
