I have been in most of the palladium hotels and I always enjoy my stay. The employees are amazing. Excellent service. Even when the pandemic is limiting the capacity for guess, the service is excellent

    Resort “Credits”

Let me first say that this is our 8th visit to the Palladium and we are VIP guests as a result. The property just reopened 10/1 and this review is ONLY about the “US$1500 Resort Credits” as part of the package. Buyer beware! We have tried to use them...at the spa ($430 in credit coupons in the book). For each of the services including $60 in the Spa Store - it has been met with “those are not applicable”, “the spa package service is no longer on our menu” or the “spa store is for lotions and we don’t have those anymore”. Also, there are not $1500 in coupons in the booklet...there are $1440. Splitting hairs I know since so far we have been able to actually use $0, but worth mentioning. So, when your travel agent tells you about the $1500 in resort credits - don’t count on being able to use them!!!

    Honeymoon post Hurricane Delta!

We were originally supposed to stay at the Valetin Imperial Maya for our Honeymoon with the arrival of Oct. 8, 2020 but we were notified by our travel agent 1 day prior to departure that our hotel was closed due to clean up from hurricane delta and unknown when they would re open. So we canceled our reservations (trip insurance) and rebooked on Thursday October 8th and made reservations for the next day October 9th for Grand Palladium White Sands Resort. We were thankful to still be able to travel and enjoy our honeymoon. Most of the Restaurants and bars were closed due to the occupancy and staffing which we understand. We have stayed at several Resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya and this was our least favorite even factoring the recent re opening and recent hurricane. Most of the staff were very friendly and very hard working with the exception of a few of the staff who were rude and not helpful. The hotel has a lot of potential, you can tell its an older hotel by the rooms and pool. The restaurants and lobby area are all really nice and modern and you can tell they have been remodeled. Overall, we will not be returning to this hotel or most likely and of the Grand Palladium Resorts. Our check out experience was again met with another bad experience with "Daneila" at the front desk who was again rude and tried to pass the blame and deflect any concerns I had which I will elaborate on: 1st- I wanted to break some large bill I had in US money and convert to pesos and when I waite patiently until I waited to be called I asked if I could get change she rudely shouted at me while she was on the phone and said, "We don't have change and you don't have your passport with you!" while she carried on to her conversation on the phone. The 2nd and last time was when we had a bill for our couple massages during our checkout and I tried to use 1 coupon from the coupon book they give you when you check in. Daniela told me that we have to let them know before we booked the massage.....Which I did and asked about and I told her we did and they said we pay when we check out. Long story short I asked to talk to her supervisor and she said her supervisor isn't here right now. She kept trying to blame everyone else and deflect the situation rather than trying to help the customer. So since we had our shuttle arriving in 30 mins I decided to just pay and not let it ruin my trip. When we booked our massage we told them we had if and asked if we could use it and they said it was fine, but we could only use 1 for the massage even though it was a couples massge package which we were fine with. When we tried to pay after the massage the said we pay when we check out. We booked 3 different excursions through the hotel and spent over $650 through the hotel. Luis P, who we booked our excursions through was awesome and very helpful. We booked our massages through 1 of the representatives who was only trying to sale massages.

We were recommended here by family. Our vacation far exceeded our expectations. 1) The friendliness of the staff was over the top. 2) The resort is very clean, well lit, and feels very safe. 3) The food was amazing. We ended up becoming a member of the Grand Palladium Travel Group because of this. Cannot wait to come back. There are so many options to fit your budget. I will probably miss the people we met that worked here the most. So nice, so friendly. This was just two days after a hurricane by the way. They pulled it all together quickly. Just a great vacation. I hope you consider staying here. Eric

We have been going to Grand Palladium hotel since about 2007 sometimes 2-3 times a year and have admired the great work that Miguel does with his glass art, we can stand for hours and watch how a tube of glass can become a sea turtle, iguana or seahorse, you name it he can make it, if you give him a picture of your family dog or cat he can make it . We have became good friends with Miguel and Momma and would be upset if he was not asked to come back to the Palladium when it opens back up in October. He is not sure his contract is being renewed so we need to make this happen please put all your comments here and to the Palladium to get him there!
