The service at the Pacific Rim was over the top! The rooms were wonderful and clean. Amenities were fabulous. We stayed 2 nights and wished we could have enjoyed the hotel longer. The porters were amazing...everyone was. Definitely upscale, but still family friendly. Staff made us feel at home. We had a beautiful city view, which had a reflection of the harbour, so we got two views for the price of one.

Stunning hotel! Absolutely impeccable staff, they are very welcoming and accommodating to any needs. Hotel is very luxurious and classy, and has an amazing name for itself. It is quite pricy but you definitely get your money worth. Room was amazing! 18th floor with a view of the city AND harbour. Luxurious bathroom and we were surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate and a card for our anniversary. I had an amazing sleep too. Very comfy bed, spacious room to facilitate the needs of anyone. Control for the room (lights etc) can be controlled by an iPad in the room.

Upon our arrival via taxi, we were greeted with the utmost care and professionalism by the valet staff, where they guided us to the reception to again be greeted and welcomed. The check in process was very quick as they had everything ready for us. They were expecting us. When we got our room, to our surprise, a typed note welcoming us and ice and water with some very fancy chocolates. We quickly refreshed and went to the lounge on the Gold floor, Tony greeted us, the concierge. He was able to recommend 3 steak restaurants and made all the bookings of the place we decided to go to. He also arranged for a car service, which was nice. At checkout, they secured our luggage until we departed and let us use the car service again. This was the best stay at a Fairmont we ever experienced.

We had a harbour view room overlooking the hot tub and pool area - what a great aspect to wake up to each day. Yes, you do pay top dollar to stay here, but for a few days it is worth it. Staff are professional and friendly, especially the welcoming team of doormen who are there to greet you. They also have a fantastic complimentary in-house taxi service available to drop guests off and pick up anywhere in downtown. Guest also have access to complimentary 2hr bike hire, or can pay to hire an eco-bike. Food and drink prices are indeed a little over-the-top, but in Vancouver there are lots of alternative places to eat. We were flying to Vancouver Island after our stay, and it was so easy to just walk across the road to the Harbour air terminal. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Ok, it's no secret that you're staying at a 5 star hotel. Be expected to pay some 5 star prices. Rooms? Spectacular, but Not cheap. Food? Great, but Not cheap. Massages and Spa? Amazing, but Not Cheap. What might blow your mind though... The lobby is possibly one of the best places to come, relax, sit with a date places out there. Unless you're with a larger party, just come in - walk up to the bar. Grab a Peroni (or whatever wets your fancy) and just listen to the live band. They're usually superb; you can sit and chat, get up and dance, go up to guest relations and ask for a $4000 a night suite because you're drunk and having a good time - who cares, it's your money. Either way, I hope you have fun and enjoy your stay.
