We traveled late August which although was meant to be a low season it certainly did not feel that way. We had the superior family water front view and the best bit was the view from the balcony. We had to pinch ourselves to ensure the views were real. I can’t recognise the negative feedback about staff. We only ever had positive experience. Our kids loved Tariq who manned the action station who made the best ever omelettes. Sandra at Rasta Beach was so engaging with them too. We were put in touch with a guy called Curtis who drove us to the cricket match on two occasions. He drove us around all the tiny villages and gave us insight into the state of Antiguan cricket. Do seek him out at the front desk. We did not seek Nicole’s as couldn’t work out why one would spend more money after having spent several thousand pounds already on all inclusive. Spa treatments were also eye wateringly expensive despite the discounts. Although it doesn’t get mentioned often, the gym was also a highlight. The treadmills could do with regular servicing though as there was only 1 in working order out of 4. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Every day on our way back from the restaurants we would try and spot the various kinds of lizards. It was reassuring to see staff being resourced from the local community. Long bay beach is walking distance and wonderful place to watch the sun set. Would definitely go back to Verandah! Highly recommend it

We stayed at the Veranda from 27th August until 3rd September 2019

It was our third time back and took our son daughter in law and grandson. Although unfortunately the day we arrived was in a bit of a storm by the next day everything was wonderful. weather wise. The staff as usual were very very nice I don't know how anyone could fault them. The accommodation was great and sheets etc were changed every day. We did the Stingray City trip (for the third time) absolutely great and the Bird Island trip which was really excellent. Would go back tomorrow. Love to Iran and Sandra and the young man who did the water aerobics who were so lovely. Food good and drinks even more good !!!!

The Verandah Resort is superb! The food and drink quality is excellent and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble! So much choice on site, with various different activities and events. I would definitely recommend the Pink Panther Tour! Fantastic day out with experts who know and care about their home.

WORST RESORT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO

Do not believe the majority of these reviews as this resort sells day passes to the local population and the amazing reviews are likely from locals. I have been to many resorts and this resort is like a ghost town with horrible employees and an unbelievable amount of unprofessionalism. DISGUSTING. They have a cockroach infestation that no one seems to talk about. There were cockroaches crawling on guests, behind the main bar etc. It’s absolutely repulsive. Service: 0/5 stars First impressions are last impressions as some may say. While checking in at the front desk in reception the receptionists were handling 6-7 guests at the same time. Asking guests to confirm their personal information in front of everyone and they share your room number with you in front of the other guests who are also checking in. This was the first time I have ever been treated like I was ordering a drink at the bar instead of checking in to an almost 5 star resort. They mumbled the key information especially about where to book dinner reservations which we had to figure out on our own and where to have lunch & dinner for those who had just arrived. There was no customer privacy between the guests and everyone was exchanging looks. The receptionists did the minimum as if they were already done speaking to you before you have even said a word. This was the welcome I received after spending thousands of dollars to stay at The Verandah resort. The staff are too good to be accommodating just you and you have to be prepared to hear everyone’s business and for everyone to hear yours. We quickly noticed that the staff who were our bartenders were also serving us, clearing tables, teaching yoga, chefs were out of the kitchen in their uniforms cleaning the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet counters. It seems like the staff weren’t trained to specialize in whatever they were doing, but they were trained for multiple positions. This is the main clue that the is understaffed and it is the last thing you expect to witness at a highly rated resort. This resort is extremely understaffed and mismanaged. It is quite unfortunate as the staff is definitely not being paid enough for the amount of work they do. The staff is exhausted and irritable. I am saying this because they end up taking their frustration out on the guests who spend thousands of dollars just to be treated unprofessionally and immorally. The staff lash out on guests and are unapproachable. The staff is miserable and it is absolutely damaging for the reputation of the owner. These staff members are interacting with guests on an interpersonal level on the owner’s behalf. For the staff to display this disgusting behaviour towards guests gives the impression that the guests are irrelevant and worthless to the resort. As if the guests are not what keeps everyone employed and the resort running. Service in restaurants is unbelievably slow. All of the restaurants require reservations for dinner. One would think that having a reservation would allow the staff to organize themselves in order to manage the room in an efficient manner. However, it takes hours to be seated, order, receive the food, receive the drinks and to leave not to mention receiving your desert. The resort itself is not busy at all, there is barely any guests there and now I know why. There is genuinely no evident reason for the service to be this horrendous. If you want even water at your table, there is a better chance that you will finish your meal before getting any. You have to repeatedly ask your server for just water (all they have todos pour into the glass in front of you) and if you’re lucky maybe after the fifth time of asking they will eventually get you a glass of water. I am not even talking about refilling the glass or getting a cocktail. If you need your table to be cleared, it won’t happen. Instead you either have to stack your plates (at the Seabreeze buffet) or walk over with your dirty dishes and clear your table yourself. The staff (very obviously) avoids your table. At one point our table was the very last fully seated table in the restaurant around lunch and still there was no water, no server to approach, nothing. They have no problem being disrespectful towards guests and openly ignores questions from guests. If you decide to dine at Buccaneers or the Beach Bar & Grill for dessert you have to be prepared to wait an additional 50-60 minutes. If you are able to order a coffee or tea to compliment your dessert then you will wait an unnecessary amount of time or finish your dessert and leave before receiving the coffee/tea. (Here’s a tip if you are going to stay at this resort, a majority of the time no one stays after receiving their entree as the wait time is already 1.5 hrs just for the main course). I noticed that only one or two tables stays for dessert. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm every night, I made reservations for the earliest time available which is 6:30 pm nightly. Every night I missed most of the entertainment which starts at 9 pm because the service is unpleasant and depressingly slow. One of the services that should make the resort more convenient for guests are the shuttles/lifts, however, the chances of actually getting one either to your room or catching one at the main bar/reception where that supposedly stop frequently are slim to none due to being understaffed. The day that I was supposed to checkout I called the front desk to request a shuttle to transport my family and our luggage to check out. I called at 11:30 knowing the shuttle pickup from the resort to the airport was at 12:30 pm. I did not get a shuttle to my room until 12:18 pm and I got to the reception at 12:22 pm. Only 8 minutes to check out. It took more than 45 minutes to get to reception which should have only taken less than ten minutes. Unfortunately, this made my last hour on the resort the most stressful yet. That will forever be my last impression of The Verandah. The male who sells tours of the island on the resort at the tour desk beside guest services is (unsurprisingly) unprofessional, unknowledgeable about the tours and he could care less about explaining the differences between tours and he showed no interest in ensuring you are happy with your choice.
