Almost paradise.

Divi Dutch Village was great. The upgrades they have made are very nice and the service was very good. The only complaint is that they opened up the pool to the Tamarijn guests also. In the past the Dutch Village pools were only for the timeshare owners. There was a lot of nonsense happening at the pool and because there isn’t any staff manning the pool area it was impossible to do anything about it.

Just okay.

First time to Aruba. While the beach was great, the staff were not what I had envisioned for one happy island. Definitely a totally different atmosphere and level of friendliness at the high rise end. Friend’s AC didn’t work well and it was very humid in the room. They got the run around for our entire stay. Housekeeping came but left no clean towels or bath mats. Food here was just okay, and difficult to get reservations at any of the sister resorts. Quiet, relaxing and clean, but there is so much they could work on here to make a vacation just a little bit more enjoyable! On our next stay, we wouldn’t choose any Divi.

Clean, nice and good food, highly recommend all-inclusive option.

Liked the Divi Experience overall, large resort with options for most it would seem. An interior section with Golf but no direct ocean access, Divi Tamarijn was the main all-inclusive only option in the middle and a little busier, we stayed in the Dutch Village where all-inclusive was optional but was more of the residences so much quieter, only a few people ever in the pool at a time. We didn't spend much time at the last portion past the Tamarijn. They do run golf carts between the resorts, so you don't have to walk. Our room overlooked the pool and poolside cafe/pool bar so all we had to do was look down to see if busy or free tables. Room was very spacious; we had a 1 bedroom suite for 4 of us with a roll away that we put in the dining room. Housekeeping always did great, room was always fresh each afternoon. Didn't like the pool hours closing fairly early as we are night swimmers, but with a poolside room, was probably OK! The Pool side cafe was where we ate most breakfast and lunches as just easy and great food. The dinner reservation system was interesting, had to learn about it from other guests and was a separate app strictly for dinner reservations, each day opens up the night 48 hours away and you have to jump when it opens to get what you want. Service was good, didn't have much for stand out staff, typically we get to know folks on resort but even ones we saw every day we never really were on a first name basis like other places we have been. Disadvantage to the Dutch Village is a long walk to the beach, the ocean front is all rock and rough water, that was our faut for not researching but good to know for the future. The beach between resorts was nice and had lots of chez under shade with very nice sand and clear water and was not overcrowded. Nightly shows at Tamarijn were OK, very busy and hard to see what was happening, we mostly walked by, only stayed to watch one show with pirates and dancing that was pretty entertaining. All in a nice resort with good food and service

Relaxing beach resort in the "low rise" section of the island!

Marissa F (New York) on Jan 15, 2024

My husband and I went to Divi Dutch Village Beach Resort for a relaxing getaway out of New York in January. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, you'll most certainly find that at Divi Dutch! The most important information to know (especially if you are new to traveling to Aruba, as we were), is that Divi Dutch is in the "low rise" section of the island. This is different from the "high rise" section, where there is a cluster of high rise hotels. My husband and I both prefer a quieter, more relaxed environment, and we much preferred the ambience of the low rise area over the high rise area (we went to Atardi at the Marriott one night for dinner; beautiful but felt more like a city to us). The best thing about Divi is that you can make great use of all the different Divi resorts that are in close proximity. It is an easy walk (5-10 min to most locations), but if you would prefer a shuttle, there are constantly shuttles riding around offering you a ride. There are plenty of beaches in this area and they are quaint, quiet, and relaxing. There are so many pools and they have that same vibe. There is an "all inclusive" option at one of the Divi resorts, but I preferred not to do all inclusive because I enjoyed leaving the resort for dinner (there are many fabulous restaurants on the island!). Don't worry at all about being a cab ride away to the strip downtown or other restaurants on the island. It's super easy to get a cab: Divi will arrange a cab for you, and any restaurant will call a cab for you to get back. BTW, there is a concierge at the resort who will offer you activities outside of the resort, but we were so happy just relaxing at the resort, we did not feel that we needed any excursions. We would absolutely return to Divi Dutch for some R&R, beach/pools, and fun in the sun!!!

Stay someplace else

AJTravels531 on Jan 07, 2024

Had to be some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Here are just a few of the issues we ran into: 1) My 70 year old parents requested a ground floor and were told they would have a ground floor. They received a room on the 2nd floor instead. 2) When we arrived there was no power or water. The other Divi resorts had generators but this one did not. The staff did not care at all and would not even pour a drink for an all inclusive guest because they "had to make a check". I understand things are out of their control, but the lack of caring was inexcusable. 3) There is literally no place to get food or drinks here besides during a couple of hours. Even to get a cup of coffee, you will have to take a 10 minute walk to the resort next door. This "resort" is clearly meant for timeshares with people doing their own thing and should not be sold as an actual resort. 4) The shuttle golf carts not only wouldn't offer to give you a ride, they would literally almost run you over if you didnt jump out of their way. They would honk at you to move into a literal bush so they could drive by. 5) When we requested an extra blanket we were told the resort was full and they were "searching high and low" for an extra blanket. It never arrived. 6) When we requested a ride to the casino we were told to wait outside, the ride never came and we just wasted a half an hour sitting outside the room for no reason. The rooms were clean, but that's about the only thing this resort has going for it. Would never recommend.
