Rooms needs serious upgrading especially the bathrooms , the sofa chair in the bedroom was full of stains, the room could be little cleaner dust every where. The curtain in the window did not close all the way.

It's very, very hard to rate this hotel. Service ranged from utterly charming (poolside, the receptionist who sang us a farewell song in the departing minibus, the gardeners , the staff at the French restaurant La Parisienne, the staff in Spices, and Waterports Staff, shop staff,) to rude, arrogant and downright hostile.............one waitress, at the Cafe de Paris asked me why I was smiling! I was happy! Food ranged from sublime (the French restaurant) , Spices) to inedible (on at least four occasions in 2 weeks). We waited 40 minutes for a la carte breakfast at the Italian restaurant (hall-full) only to be told there were no mushrooms. Reception staff were rude, unhelpful and treated guests as a nuisance. 'Late checkout is requested at 8.00am', go there at 8.00am, sorry it's 9.00am. None of them seemed to have a clue about anything. They were always having a conversation with someone else (obviously someone more important) over your head. It's demeaning and insulting. Restaurant reservations were not passed on 3 times, resulting in feeling very unwelcome at the venues and having to produce the hand-written card to 'prove' our booking. For a 5 star hotel it is ridiculous not to have enough beach umbrellas, but this was the case, totally nowhere near enough, and ALL were fully booked by butlers prior to 8.00am. In 32 degrees shade is imperative. Investment is definitely required here. Advertised as 'wines included in the room' I requested a bottle of Merlot. It took 2 visits to reception and 2 phone calls to arrive on one occasion. One evening we had to bribe the staff at a bar to provide it. So, confusing, very mixed and difficult to deal with the different levels of service and information/misinformation. On our arrival we were not even told where breakfast would be served. The environment is noisy, with leaf-blowing every morning and power-washing all the paths regularly. I would not recommend this Sandals venue, having visited the Antigua Sandals and found it brilliant.

    UNACCEPTABLY Slow

Half of every day here is spent waiting for food... Waiting this long anywhere else, I would be receiving *at least* profuse apologies. The rooms are comfortable and the beach is nice, but for the price paid and the already limited availability of food options, the wait for food (AND drinks... even like just a water bottle) left my blood boiling every time. Mind blowing slowness.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th year of marriage at Sandals Barbados. We enjoyed the tranquility soaking tub, and the couples massage was by far the best massage we have ever had. We highly recommend it. We had the option of being active or just sitting under the shade trees on the beach. No pressure to do anything, but more than enough to do on the resort and local area. Such as surfing at Barry's surf school about 100 yards down the street. Overall a great experience, we didn't want to leave and we do plan to go back.
