Let me start by saying that I have been going to The Crane for over 30 years and I absolutely love the resort, their upkeep is impressive and I love the staff. They try to keep all guests happy and are very warm and welcoming. They treat you like family and make the resort feel like you are actually coming home. Unfortunately, on this last trip, the behavior of several guests was so bad and I am so disappointed that the staff at The Crane did nothing and said nothing to misbehaving guests. I respect the country and Barbados rules and traditions and I make it a point to learn about any country i go to before i go to be respectful to the citizen’s and their home. I am a guest and appreciate their hospitality. With that being said, this last visit I was horrified and disgusted with the behavior of several visitors and their children. The bikinis and very small thongs worn in public stores, restaurants and places at the resort without a coverup was surprising. Children running around at the adults only pool. One night we were at the 1887 bar listening to local talent and the kids running around on the dance floor, on each other’s shoulders playing chicken trying to push each other off while the singer had to dodge getting knocked over. Drinks being dropped on the dancefloor and left for someone to fall. I could go on. My point is that you are an invited guest here. Before you go learn the acceptable and unacceptable behavior and respect traditions and locals. It is their home, not yours. Leave a positive lasting memory on locals so they will want you back. I love Barbados and all of its culture, people, and traditions. Please be respectful. I would have given The Crane a top grade because it is that great, but their lack of responding to unruly behavior took its rating down. Hopefully next time will be back to perfect.

This was our second stay at the crane. We stay with hilton grand vactions in the 3700 building. We were able to arrange transfer from the airport to the facility through the transfer desk which was quite nice. Check in was also well thought out and they even valet your luggage to your room when ready. We hung out at the pub and had some drinks until then. Watch the rum punch, as it is tasty and strong. Got into our room and put on swim suits and hit our pool. We had a garden pool and a whirlpool as well as a gazebo withour room and all were quite nice. Overall, we have found the rooms to be fairly well accessable with a wheelchair, however my wife's wheelchair is 15" wide (minus wheels) and does fit in the main door and just barely through the bedroom and bathroom doors. there is a small step to the patio and a larger step to the pool, so those will be a bit trickier to negotiate. The rest of the facility (minus the beach) is pretty much all on one level and accessible. It is nice having a pub, italian restaurant, french restaurant, japanese restaurant, grocery store and liquor store right on the premises. Also, if the ATM is broken the front desk can get you cash advanced against your room tab. Be aware that cab fare is ~$30 us to get to the airport and more to get to the main town. overall, we love it and we will be back.

From caring Karen to joyous Joan to super Sheena (who saved me some time and money) to bubbly Barry and all in between, they were so professional and made the stay even better. Additionally, every single employee as they pass you by, they acknowledge you and they were all very courteous. What a family stay! My wife and I are on vacation, it’s my wife’s and daughter's (9 years old) birthday, my son (6 years old) is like a fish in the pool 5 times a day! My children throughly enjoyed the small pool in our room and the ginormous pool on property. The dinning, room service, house keeping, sports facilities were all great. Many people debate whether or not there is a heaven, what I do know, is that there is The Crane.
