Normally I am very pleased when we stay at the Hilton. But this time they severely let me down. We planned a trip months in advance only to have our room changed when we get here. We got a smaller room with smaller beds as well as a crappy bathroom. Now this may not seem like something to complain about but we rarely get vacation and for the money we paid I expected to get exactly what we reserved. They couldn’t change our room because they were totally booked and when we talked to the front desk their only reply was “the rooms are all the same”. Bull. My family and I have spent a lot of money staying at Hilton hotels and have gathered a points as we have just begun traveling a lot, it doesn’t make sense to me to absent mindedly ignore the request of your guest when they can specifically tell you the differnces. We were told the room we have this trip is more expensive than the one we had before because it’s an ocean view. However we didn’t want an ocean view to begin with. I am just beyond displeased and will never be using them again.

Average stay, not worth the money

We had 2 rooms between 6 people for 12 nights. Our rooms were good, beds were very comfortable, pillows were horrible. Housekeeping wasn't great. Our fridge wasn't working & after 2 calls to reception it was replaced. The AC wasn't working but was fixed immediately. We had the mountain view rooms which was a beautiful site to see each morning. We paid extra for breakfast during our stay. It was below standard and a waste of money. The only things that were edible was the toast/bagels and the cereals. We mainly choose this hotel due to the heated pool. It was NOT heated. Admittedly the weather was not great the entire 13 days that we were in waikiki which we knew in advance hence why we wanted a heated pool. The pool water was freezing! So disappointed!!! The tour staff seemed like they had better things on their mind than wanting to help you with tours. Location is pretty good, 1 street back from the beach. 3 mins walk to the beach. I personally wouldnt stay again. We had 2 rooms between 6 people for 12 nights. Our rooms were good, beds were very comfortable, pillows were horrible. Housekeeping wasn't great. We stayed at the Hilton Waikiki and it was 2 blocks from the beach. The front desk staff person was amazing. I wish I could remember her name because she was so welcoming. Tyler at the Expedia desk made booking our tours easy. He even booked our rental car. Such a nice guy we could have chatted with him all night. Mona at MAC 24/7 was an incredible server and story teller. Love that woman. The bar tender at the pool bar always remembered our drink orders. A fabulous holiday thanks to the amazing staff at the Hilton Waikiki.

Very expensive option considering it is no longer a premium hotel. Sure, you can see the ocean and the rooms are clean, but this is to be expected in Hawaii. Dining options on site are ridiculously expensive for a family. $35 for four breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees to go, I can just imagine what it would cost to sit in the restaurant. Unlike the other Waikiki Beach hotels, there are no beach chairs or umbrellas to use. Sure, you can get towels, but that’s it. What is the resort fee for then?? The internet didn’t work in our room either, so I have 2 teen daughters in social withdrawal. A tech was sent to my room to fix, but I was the one that spent 25 minutes on the phone with their outside supplier. Wait, why am I the one on the phone??? It wasn’t resolved that evening. They were to fix it following day while we were out on a tour. Guess what, nothing was done. Again, I was on phone with outside supplier, and yes, again I’m spending my vacation time on the phone. I hung up and went to front desk. The suggestion I was given was to send my teen daughters to the lobby so they could Snap their friends. Are you serious??? After a long day at beach, I’m to send my teens to the lobby?? Finally I was given another room with marginally better internet. Of the 4 new room keys I was given, 2 didn’t work!!! I spoke with several other guests on the 18th floor that I bumped into who all said the same about the poor internet service. This is NOT a family friendly hotel unless you are very wealthy and don’t need to budget. This is my second poor experience at a Hilton hotel. It is my last stay at a Hilton hotel as well. The average rating is because the room was good, as well as the view. Pool was Also nice for an evening cool down. The reality is that I should give a poor rating for how my issue was handled, for making a guest talk with their outside supplier.
