The reviews on this place are really petty. I was getting worried about our trip after reading so many poor comments. I will say the resort shows signs of aging but it is still an amazing resort with amazing staff. I never saw one staff member not busting ass and doing the best they could. Shower had better pressure then my shower at home. Never had issue with wifi even on the beach. Now to address some things I read . Yes if it is 33+ degrees the sand gets hot .. sorry they don’t have a AC for the sand LOL. Read rooms are hot and stuffy and even had a lady in the elevator said hers was “broken” all night. If you crack open the sliding glass door you will hear a ping. That’s the AC shutting off and when you close again you hear it turning on. Like stated before it’s very hot in Huatulco especially in April it only makes sense they don’t want to waste power cooking the outside so keep doors shut and will have no issue. Beach chairs and umbrellas are easy to come by but poolside can be tricky that would be my only “complaint” . Back to the staff , I wish I got everyone’s name but unfortunately I could not so for the ones I remember Erik at spice was awesome and made us laugh every time we ate there even if he wasn’t our server. The gentleman who wear VIP services on there shirt I am blanking on there names but I was worried they just wanted to sell and get commission but that’s not the case. I didn’t book one excursion through them and EVERY single time I saw them it was nothing but good vibes and nice conversation. The cooks at castaways again blanking on names , people complaining about how hot is it well imagine standing behind a hot grill all day on top of that, they did with a smile on there face. My two favourites would have to be the boys who on the beach who help with the paddle boards and kayaks, Aberham and Alejandro are amazing and you can’t teach what they have. They are genuinely good people who like to see others smile. I will try and bring the kindness I experienced at Secrets huatulco back home with me . It was our first time but won’t be our last . Looking forward to returning !!

We really enjoyed our stay at Secrets. For food, Castaways and the French restaurant were the best. Service was very good everywhere. We also really enjoyed the activities - Abraham took us on a great kayak and sailing tour. Would definitely recommend this resort!

Staff mostly very friendly. Very peaceful and relaxing. Views r lovely. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Food was not up to Secrets standard at all. We were extremely disappointed with the food. Rooms were nicely cleaned but sometimes only cleaned between after 5pm. I would definitely return to Huatulco but not to Secrets Huatulco.

Flew in April 3rd, every day was amazing, weather was great! We chose a preferred club package, I would highly recommend because of the perks. William was an amazing host, pool side, beach, he took care of us and made us feel like family! He set us up and gave us a great pooo side experience. Jorge cooked the best pizzas beach side WOW! Bernardo at the lobby was great to talk to and gave us great advice on where to go and how navigate down town. The shows were amazing and authentic, there was even a pool side fire show! I would 10/10 recommend. We will be back for sure!

We just returned from a week long stay at Secrets Huatulco. We had a swim out room in building 6 which is right in front of the activity pool. There is water aerobics at noon and then volleyball…nothing else going on for pool activities. Drink service was pretty good and a special mention to Isaul who was fantastic. The swim out is the way to go to avoid the chair game and actually be able to sleep in on your vacation. We saw pictures being taken twice over the week but no towels were ever removed from loungers. Why they make you sign a form saying you acknowledge them removing your stuff past 30 minutes is beyond me when they don’t enforce it. The maintenance workers work very hard cutting and watering grass. We tipped them more than once and they were very appreciative. Our room was cleaned daily and it was excellent. Turn down service is nice. The minibar restock needs improvement because we literally had to ask for snacks and drinks daily which really should be automatic. The food was ok. The best meal we had was the Teppanyaki at Spice. I feel the food was better at Dreams. You won’t starve and there are numerous choices but it’s just ok. We also didn’t really notice any of the cosmetic issues people have complained about. Yes the resort is older but it is exceptionally clean and maintained well. We would stay here again!
