This resort has very nice, very clean rooms. The bathrooms are amazing and make it very convenient to get ready. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning is perfect. We spent 2 nights in building 10 with a beautiful view and 4 nights in building 25 which was very convenient for the pool. Upon check-in, we were taken to a room with 2 double beds rather than the King bed we had requested. We were told we would have to wait till the following day to switch rooms. The following afternoon, we were told to go to the lobby to get our new room programmed on our bracelets/room keys. Upon arrival, we were told that our luggage had been taken back to our old room and we would have to wait another day. When we asked to talk to someone, we got Shirley. She was very rude and then just walked out of the room, leaving us to sit there for another 30 minutes with no idea what was going on. We did not get a new room that day, but finally got into a room with a king sized bed on our third night. It was very frustrating to continue leaving everything fully packed and being told different things. Not a great start to vacation. We chose to do Star class when booking, and thought that it was a good choice. Our concierge, Henry, was very friendly and took care of all of our restaurant & spa reservations for the week. We enjoyed having the star pool mostly to ourselves for many of the days. We thought the drinks & bartenders (Francisco, Wolfgang, Rony)at the star pool were by far better than all the others. The restaurants here are pretty good. The TexMex restaurant was by far our favorite. The food at Blue Star was great, especially the nacho appetizer and the fish taco entree. The margaritas are also excellent. The best part, though, is the staff. The waiters here were incredibly warm, friendly and took great care of us. We went twice because we were so impressed. Do not stay at this PH if you are looking for nightlife! Though there is some type of entertainment every evening, it was usually over by 10:30, or even 9 some nights. 80s/90s night was a lot of fun and did last until around 11:00. The spa is very nice, we got massages and used the hydrotherapy several times. We walked along the beach and enjoyed seeing the monkeys, but spent most of our time at the pool. We weren’t bothered at all about attending a presentation. Golf carts came frequently except for the last day, which was a Friday. Costa Rica is beautiful and so are the views at PH!

Our two weeks at this holiday was fantastic, but not sure it was worth £1200. More than the Rui palace which we stayed at 2017. Food was Great Staff were polite always welcoming and willing to help, not sure about reception staff they were very vague, pool girls were amazing. Room was lovely didn’t need to up grade to star class. We were offered a Cabana $169 and a $100 to spend in resort if we attend promotion which we thought was trying to get u to buy a time share which they don’t call a time share, the first guy was lovely polite , then he brought in the hard sell American who was very polite while he thought he had us , not so polite when we declined ( don’t think it has anything to do with him being American ) just plain Rude. They tell you it will take 60 mins ours took 90 mins , but I have to say loved the Cabana although we still got our own drinks and lunch , didn’t feel right getting the butler to get it. Nice place, Nice food, Wonderful staff. Very hilly though but they have buggies to transport you up and down the hill.

It’s early on in our week long vacation, but some initial thoughts- Room: Our room has a great view that overlooks the ocean, very clean. Our first night we went to bed early and it was quite even though they had a show going on the outside stage. Workout classes/gym: We took the Hollywood hills class with Jorge, and it was a great challenging class up and down the stairs and steep hill. My boyfriend and I are pretty fit (workout 4-5x a week) and by the last sprint up the hill, we were exhausted. Highly recommend any classes with Jorge. Gym is on the smaller side, but has all of the necessities. Pool/beach: We were told there was an adults only pool, but that is not the case. There are 2 pools that everyone can use, 1 kid pool and a pool that you have to upgrade to Star access for. So if you are looking for more of an adults only experience this will not be for you. They do have 2 separate swim up bars that are nice and convenient, but many kids jumping into pools and squirting squirt guns. Beach is very small and has black sand. Not bad if you want to swim because the waves are very small, but you will most likely be laying out in the pool vs. the beach. Food: Food is good for an all inclusive. You have to make reservations for the sushi/hibachi restaurant, but make sure you go right at 8am the day of or you will not be able to get a reservation until after 9pm.

If you want to relax go to some other place (In COsta Rica Ill recommend the Andaz Papagayo). If you want good drinks at the pool go to another place (Dreams Las Mareas). this hotel is too loud so you may not going to rest. Ill start saying the first day was a nightmare. Food from the past customer on the room. I had to pick up my Luggage at 4pm. We were celebrating our weeding anniversary and at the arrive not even a congrats napkin on the room. Terrible.. After the complain The customer lady gave us a Cabaña for the other day and it was good our own pool and butler and that day was great. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. the rooms are amazing but the overall experience feels cheap. If I was from another country and ill like to experience CR ill prefer to go to another place. Anyway if you ask me ill prefer not to go back.

I recently stayed at Planet Hollywood in Costa Rica. When I first checked in, I was quite overwhelmed since I just came back from an REI adventure trip that was an authentic Costa Rican experience. I was looking for some R and R after my adventure trip. At first I would have rated this hotel 2 stars, but as I had an open mind and was impressed with the incredible staff, the hotel grew on me. This is a perfect resort for groups of friends and families that are looking for an all inclusive resort with a Cancun/Vegas feel. It’s not the place for you if you want to relax by the beach and pool. Here’s why I Planet Hollywood 5 stars: The customer service is top notch! The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was a happy guest. Upon check in, there was some confusion since I booked the hotel through Costco vacations. I was looking forward to using the $500 resort credit, only to realize it was a coupon voucher book for small amounts for excursions and the crazy expensive spa. The manager Rebecca worker with me and presented me various options for the spa so I would feel these vouchers were worth it. She also helped me change rooms when I complained about the bugs in my ground floor room. Upon checkout, I realized I left my cell phone in the tour van. The bellman and Josie at guest services made the right calls and within an hour, I had my phone back! I was quite grateful for their help. The food was surprisingly decent for an all inclusive resort. There were plenty of options at the SoCal buffet. The only recommendations I would suggest are healthier options, especially by the pool during lunch time. The rooms were absolutely beautiful! They were so spacious and I loved how multiple people can get ready in the bathroom since there’s a separate bathroom and shower. You can tell how carefully designed the layout was thought out. Hope this review helped paint a picture of why this resort is worth the $$$!
