had a great stay. everything was on point from the food, facilities, activities, and employees. im not a big fan of manzanillo, but we definitely plan on coming back here just for this spot. thank you

Manzanillo is a great place for vacation. Relaxed pace, small airport, and friendly locals. The excursions to town are wonderful. Unlike other vacation spots there aren't any harrassing vendors or beggars pestering you. It's refreshing to walk peacefully through the area. The las hadas hotel is showing its age but is still beautiful where it counts The beach is private and because of the marina the waves are not very strong. There was no difficulty getting a chair by the beach or pool almost anytime of day. The features around the pool gave lots of shade the entire day. For sun seekers you can still get tons of burning here also. The internet is fantastic. Even down at the marina. My only complaint is the food. Although the a la carte were excellent the buffet is only open on the weekend (except breakfast) and there wasn't a lot of choices. The food was good most days but for picky eaters it will be challenging. The staff is excellent but the language barrier may cause some issues if your not patient and understanding. I'd recommend this resort for first timers or people looking for a quiet getaway. Knowing some Spanish will make your stay much better.

Excellent place for families. I’d work on the cooks. Many plates with lack of taste. Specially Delfines. Good drinks. Excellent service. Very nice rooms. Pool and Beach activities very much Fun. See you soon

This unique resort offers incredible views, amazing food, fantastic service. The resort is expansive with a lot of stairs, many are uneven, so bring good walking shoes! Spend time exploring the countryside, its beauty is spectacular and if you choose to visit, take the time to learn basic Spanish and then the communication barrier will be easier! Hotel Name: Las Hadas by Brisas, Manzanillo, Colima, MX Official Rating: 5 Star Our stay: February 18 to 25, 2024, Room 485 Individual Scores (TLDR) Food: 4.5 out of 5 Accommodations: 4 out of 5 Amenity Rating: 4 out of 5 Resort Atmosphere Rating: 5 out of 5 Our Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Before I begin, I have to say that this resort was nowhere near capacity when we stayed there. It was pleasantly empty at (I am guessing) 25-30% capacity. Although this little detail was the most pleasant surprise of the trip, it likely highlighted several of the less enthusiastic points of the review. But, what a change of pace from the other resorts we have stayed at! And, off we go... Food (Buffet and a la Carte) This review is not based on the flavour of the food, which is subjective, rather it is based on its quality and variety. Las Hadas boasts 3 a la carte restaurants (Los Delphines, El Terral, and Legazpi), as well as a Taco Bar and the El Palmar buffet. El Palmar was the breakfast buffet each day and was the dinner buffet on select nights. The food at El Palmar was good and the day-to-day variety was a nice change. For example, there was potatoes (papas) every day, but each day it was prepared in a different way (baked, fried, mashed, etc.) so you weren’t eating the ‘same-old’ every day. This was the same for the protein selection, vegetables and almost everything else (including the sea food). While I didn’t partake of the pasta station, it was very popular with the guests. I also failed to see the BBQ station in time to enjoy it and I am a bit sad about that. The breakfast buffet was great! Amazing selection of fruit, sweet rolls, hot fare and freshly made food. The omelet bar was a little bit of a challenge as I waited for some time before someone actually came to make my omelet several times. Other than that, breakfast was the most enjoyable part of each day. The a la carte restaurants were simply delicious. I never thought I would say I ate a really good steak in Mexico, but the El Terral made me a fantastic rib-eye steak. We were warned to go one step higher on our ‘done-ness’ scale as they tend to cook it a bit less done than you’d expect and that is what I did. Los Delphines is an amazing restaurant with seafood offerings that never failed to impress. (We went there twice for dinner and once for lunch!) Legazpi Restaurant proved to be a delicious dinner as well. The ambience at Los Delphines and El Terral was amazing. A beautiful sunset dinner overlooking Bahia Manzanillo. And did I mention the steak I had at El Terral? The Taco Bar was amazing. The selection of meat and/or seafood was different every day but there was always 5 or 6 options. Fresh toppings made right there that day. Everything made to order and enough condiments and fixings to cater to just about any taste. Food Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Accommodations (Room comfort, cleanliness, and restocking) The rooms are a little dated and a little too white for my liking, but they were clean and the AC worked nicely (no rattling, struggling, or wheezing). The bed was comfortable enough, the blankets and sheets were decent. There was also a writing desk, reading desk and a small sofa. I would have preferred the TV be with the sofa instead of with the bed, but that is just me. The safe is big enough for an iPad but some of the larger laptops or tablets won’t fit. It didn’t seem very secure on the wall as it was listing and sagging, but it worked just fine. The door was a little tricky to get open. When we presented our card, it would go green, but the handle wouldn’t engage all the time. Not a big issue as we always managed to get in after the second try. The bar fridge was restocked every day that we had the room made up. Beer, soda, and water was always plentiful. The balcony! What can I say about the balcony. Ours was massive. It was as if the balcony had its own balcony! The view from it was amazing, giving you an overhead expanse of the pool, beach, Las Hadas Marina, and Bahia Manzanillo. The balcony door opened and closed freely which was a bit of a shock when I hauled on it to open it expecting it to grind and scrape in its track. The water was pleasantly warm (not hot) but the shower pressure would drop suddenly to a trickle then ramp slowly back up. The sinks seem like they were updated by simply fitting a new sink over the old one. This made it awkward to use as the faucet was right at the edge of the sink bowl. Our room also had a bit of a plumbing issue in one of the his-and-hers vanity which would make a rapid-fire staccato noise and leak all over the vanity top if you didn’t open it all the way. But, this is borderline nit-picking. Accommodation Rating: 4 out of 5 Amenities (Beaches, Bars, Pools, WiFi, etc.) In general, the resort was not busy when we were there. We never had to stake our spots at 6am at the beach or pool; we could leisurely walk over and take our pick. Super pleasant and probably worth an entire star on its own. The beach was nice sized, had a floating dock within an easy swim and the snorkeling was decent enough with a myriad of fish right off the shore including puffer fish. There was very little coral, but if you went to either side, make sure to wear your water shoes; the rocks can, and will, get you. This was witnessed by us more than once. The selection at the bars was typical but the bartenders did not seem experienced with some of the typical drinks that were asked for (Bahama Mama comes to mind, as well as some other ‘tropical’ drinks). The swim up bar wasn’t open every day. It didn’t seem to be on a schedule, just whenever, and the bartender at the pool bar (Coco Loco) made you get out of the pool and come around even though the two are connected by a short stair. The Lobby Bar wasn’t open until 3pm (even though it was advertised open at 11), the beach bar (Oasis Lounge) opened at 11, as did the pool bar. Just a little late and inconvenient as we found ourselves trekking to find a cerveza more than once. Free Wi-Fi was available in the rooms and common areas and was generally decent. Not sure it could handle bringing your own streaming device, but good enough for updating your socials. I wish it bled out onto the balconies so I could enjoy the heat and view while surfing the net.... The pool was the perfect size and had a pair of waterfalls at the one end and two ‘islands’ with palm trees and vegetation. Unfortunately it is in need of maintenance as there are several areas where the concrete floor has chipped away leaving sharp edges, and some of the tile work around the sides were missing tiles, presenting a serious laceration hazard if you weren’t paying attention. These two issues brought this rating down. Amenity Rating: 4 out of 5 Resort Atmosphere (Staff, Cleanliness, Lighting, Ease of Access) The resort itself is simply fantastic! Built into the side of a cliff and appearing like a small village with tiered side streets, alleys and accommodations lining them. It truly looked like it was once a military fortification with towers and rampart walls. Sculptures like gargoyles and fountains were numerous and amazing to look at and the entire resort has a Persian feel to it. Because it was built on the side of a cliff or steep hill, there are stairs. Lots and lots and lots of stairs. Yes, you could take the streets and walk back and forth eventually making your way higher and higher up the tiers, but a neat little tower holding a spiral staircase would get you to the next level in short order. I was in my glory. There was little to no garbage or litter anywhere. The litter that was there was cleaned almost immediately by the next passing employee, whether they were maintenance, administrative or culinary. Every morning, the pool maintenance crew vacuumed the pool and skimmed the bulk of the floaters off the pool. They really do take pride in the appearance of their resort. Environmentally speaking, they have very little single use plastic. The plastic cups they give you are meant to be washed and used again, and there were no straws to foul up the grass and flora. The beach (as stated above) was very nice. Lots of lounge chairs, ample space on the sand if you wanted it and you could find an umbrella easy enough if that is what you are after. The ocean was typical Pacific Ocean, a little wavy and a little cloudy and nicely warm. The sand was soft, too. Getting around the resort was a bit difficult, given all the stairs, but there were golf carts aplenty to get you to where you needed to go. Not all the restaurants seemed wheelchair accessible (Legazpi) and depending which rooms you were staying, you might even have trouble in there; ours had a riser in the middle where the bed, dresser and writing desk were. The staff in general were very nice and accommodating. Checking in and out was a breeze. Resort Atmosphere Rating: 5 out of 5
