My husband and I have been staying at Sunset at the Palms for the past 20 years. We love the resort and the people of Jamaica! Usually we travel alone but this year we invited family and friends to join us. The staff at Sunset at the Palms took care of our family and friends as if they were their own. Taking a vacation is one thing but whenever we go to Sunset at the Palms, we feel like we have arrived at our second home! Dear Sunset at the Palms Staff/Family, We love you guys and we truly appreciate all that you do to make sure we feel the love. We will always stay at Sunset at the Palms because we have surpassed being just guests....we are family! Much Love and Blessings, The Emery's

Going into this trip I had high expectations reading all the great reviews at this hotel, but unfortunately it didn't live up to them. Pros: The hotel grounds were kept exceptional and everything was very beautiful on-site at the hotel. The hotel pool was small, but very nice as well with a swim up bar. The food was good, but not great at the buffet (more details on the food below). Cons: The think the biggest disappointment was the service. It was very hit & miss, half the time the service was good and workers were pleasant. The other half of the time the workers just looked upset being at work or actually having to help you with something. The 2nd biggest disappointment was the beach. They promote the beach as private which isn't really true. There were random people walking on the beach constantly trying to sell you joints. Unfortunately it wasn't a one time occurrence it was pretty much every 20-30 minutes. It got to the point we stopped visiting the beach altogether. Other disappointments, were the "Chef Showcase" dinner, the service was so slow that within 1.5 hrs of the meal we got a piece of bread, a small appetizer, and a bowl of soup. We couldn't take it anymore and left the dinner to go eat at the buffet. Other issues, but more minor were the phone & wifi in the room didn't work either. I told the front desk and they said "IT is working on it.", it never got fixed the whole trip. The only wifi is in the lobby. So, suffice it to say, I would not stay here again.

We just returned from a beautiful, wonderful, relaxing ten days at Sunset At The Palms. This resort is a tiny slice of paradise in Negril Jamaica. It is nestled within beautiful, lush greenery and contains bungalow/tree house style rooms. We enjoyed the mountain view rooms. Although these rooms are not on the beach, it is only a short walk to the beach. As you walk to the beach, you experience many hellos from the resort staff. There is even a crossing guard to assist you across the street as you walk to the beach! The beach sits on bloody bay along Seven Mile Beach. There is a beach bar and grill where you can order some delicious lunch and fun drinks. There is also staff to assist you with setting up your lounge chairs and table. The beach has calm clear water. The beach also has trees that provide shade when the sun becomes too hot. The staff at the resort are very helpful and friendly. Claudia at breakfast and Cornelius at dinner always greeted us with a smile as we sat down for our meals. The food is delicious and the service is personal. We absolutely loved the staff at Sunset at the Palms. We had a wonderful time and absolutely enjoyed our visit. We can't wait to return in the near future!

We stayed at SATP recently and have two sides to our reviews. Firstly positive: it is a beautiful boutique style resort. it is not a resort by any means. The gardens are stunning and villas lovely. Staff are also very helpful. Food was always lovely with plenty of choice. Beach is stunning. Negatives: 1 1/2 to 2 hour transfer. We had no wifi whatsoever in our villas and had to keep going to the lobby. Not a huge problem more of an inconvenience. There are no doors on the bathrooms! The beach - I knew the beach was across the road exit the hotel, cross the road, walk through a park area and onto the beach. When it rains all afternoon there is nothing to do apart from go to your villa and watch television. Tennis courts out of action for maintenance I couldn't see anything wrong with them. If I had fully appreciated all of the above I am not sure we have chosen this resort. Excursions - we wanted to do many but the location is very distant from most (2 hours). We did do the YS falls and Black River which was amazing it took us 2 hours one way. I also don't understand why the hotels along Bloody Bay do not utilise the Scuba Caribe to do water taxis to Ricks Cafe and Margarita Villa. We wanted to go to them both and a water taxi. If the hotels could arrange a few departures a day I am sure they would be full. We also did the catamaran to Ricks Cafe, snorkerling and Margarita Villa trip which as great fun. All in all just be aware this is a quiet very beautiful resort.

I cannot say enough about this place. Seriously by far incredible, the staff was so friendly, the rooms very personal and just amazing. The food was my favorite. Loved that they had a buffet but also 2 small actual 4 to 5 course dinner options. The drinks they make are amazing (ask for pink paradise!) I liked that this wasn't a typical concrete jungle resort! It may have 80+ rooms but you can hardly tell! And then the beach, amazing food served, endless drinks, and the beach was very well kept and clean. This place is paradise!
