Not only is Kidani Village an tranquil oasis of beauty with amazing animals to enjoy, but also it is accessible to exciting Parks and other interesting resorts to explore. The Sanaa Lounge is AMAZING - try their African Margarita! You will get closest to the animals on the Savannah from their viewing deck. Pure Magic! Well worth the cost. We have been coming here for 10 years and consider a good value for all your get!

My family and I took a trip to AKL-Kidani from 3/6-3/14. We are DVC members, our home resort is Copper Creek. I originally booked Copper Creek at the Wilderness Lodge but switch to the Animal Kingdom Lodge because my boys love animals and we wanted to try something new. The Great: Of course the animals. The views from our room were wonderful. We had coffee in the morning and drinks at night almost every day. It’s a very unique experience. The pool is fantastic. The splash area is huge. They have a larger slide for, I’ll say 3.5 years +. But also a smaller slide for my little guys. They loved it. Went down 25 times. Zero depth is a huge plus as well. The Good: Boma and Sanaa are very good. Not elite but very solid choices. Sanaa offering a quick service service breakfast was vital. Boys ate, which is huge. Food was good day starter with an African flair. Ground level views into the Savannah were good. Service was solid. Disney doesn’t miss with this aspect typically. The Okay: The rooms are dated. The resort is over a decade old and it’s starting to Show. Outlets in our room were loose and would pull out while unplugging a cord if we weren’t careful. Was a concern with my little dudes. Room came with USB ports but only 1 of 6 worked. Standard plugs were loose fitting with our blocks connected. Bathroom was large, with a separate close off (with door) for the toilet. Shower was a tub, which was good for baths obviously. Bed was comfortable but the pull-out bed was rough. Boys thankfully slept on the pull out with no issues. Regrets: After 2 nights we regretted our decision to change resorts. We missed the convenient Copper Creek. We had to walk 5-10 minutes everywhere. That’s the way the place is designed. Everything surrounds the Savannah. This is a common complaint, we knew it going in. It was no fun after a while. Food options are limited at Kidani. Jambo House is much better. It’s designed like the Wilderness Lodge. If memory serves, they are designed by the same person. Kidani is designed with DVC 1+ bedrooms in mind. I get it. Kitchens, living rooms. Just wasn’t for us. If we didn’t have a car, yikes. This allowed us to eat at different resorts without making multiple bus transfers. Transportation wasn’t bad with the buses, it really wasn’t. We didn’t wait more than 20 minutes for anything. We also didn’t stay at the parks until close, or good at open. Only one mode of transportation is rough for a deluxe resort. Summary: If you’re going to Disney and staying at the resorts mainly throughout, not much travel to the parks; Animal Kingdom Lodge would be a very good option. Gorgeous views, great staff, solid food (I hear Jiko is amazing but we didn’t go due to the little ones), and appreciate a quiet stay. It didn’t work for us over the long term, but it was fun and the theming is on point. AKL just lacks the creature comforts that come with the newer, more centrally locates DVC resorts.

They took quite some time for them to bring our luggage to our room about 45 minutes after we entered our room, and the bathroom had a few stains around the toilet area that should have been cleaned better. The Location and the Friendliness of the staff was Excellent. Disney does an excellent job and making my family feel at home throughout our visit. The way Disney has everything connected through our Wrist bands was excellent. The Bands are connected to our room key, our pictures, our entry to the Resort and our pictures throughout our stay. Highly recommend to any family.

This hotel is by far, the best Disney resort. You literally feel like you are vacationing in Africa. The theming is amazing and the customer service was above and beyond. We came here for our last 2 nights after spending our first 3 nights at Disney's Polynesian. I have to say, hands down, this resort was much better than the Polynesian. So many activities for the kids, the animals, the community room, etc. kept us busy the entire time. We worked out in the gym which was by far the best hotel gym I have ever been too. The Kidani Village pool was very nice -- even has a slide. The ONLY complaint--the quick service options were VERY limited at Kidani Village. We spent the day at the Kidani pool and only have 4 food options to pick from. The main quick service hall is in Jambo House (which is a shuttle ride away). So if you are hungry, you had only 4 options. The food also looked sub-par for a deluxe resort. Even came in like a pre-made container you get at a conveinence store. ---- besides the quick service food, the hotel is by far the best we have ever stayed at.If you have the opportunity to upgrade to Savannah View, I WOULD DO IT!!!! So nice to sit on your balcony and drink coffee while watching the animals. 5 stars!!!!

    Enjoyed our stay!

We were lucky enough to get a deal for a fall stay in a savanna view studio room. Positives: Decor is well themed Small kitchenette including a real coffee maker Savanna views!!! Balcony Friendly, helpful staff Pool Kids activities- my daughter loved collecting the special beads Food options Not so great: Really really long hallways Getting to the pool was a pain Despite having a savanna view room - we didn’t have giraffes on our specific savanna so that was kind of a bummer Bus experience Highly recommend if you love animals and are expecting to spend some time at your resort. Keep in mind: there are many overlooks and viewing spots throughout the resort. So even if you don’t get a savanna view you you will have lots of opportunities to see them here!
