    Great Location Disappointing Staff

    First of all the location and the private beach for this hotel is AMAZING! The view from our room waking up every day felt like paradise. The moment you walk into the lobby/front desk you embrace the waves crashing in the sun shining in. The bellmen are super helpful and attentive. Everyone practice safe distancing and wore masks. and the overall facilities were properly maintained and emasculate! I would love to return here on my next trip to Puerto Vallarta. Now the problem we had was how unreasonable the staff and management became when there was an error with our reservation. **disclaimer we did book a third party with Expedia*** which usually I don't have any issues resolving problems because I know you have to call Expedia directly for any issues. Now when service is spotty and there are different time zones to consider can turn into a nightmare. Our issue was that we book a room with 2 beds ocean view. The front desk only had us listed for 1 gest in a double beds ocean view. I said okay well there are 2 of us and the must be a mistake. Eager to check-in (after a 6 hr flight and 2-hour customs check) I decided I will pay the additional cost for the extra person and call Expedia to fix the problem with them later. The front desk said it would be an additional USD 200.00!!!! (keep in mind entire stay which was for 2 days was only $218.00 after taxes! So I was of course flabbergasted and confused. I said okay well this is pretty high considering what my total was and it clearly looks like a mix-up since I book a room with 2 beds. What makes it worse is travel companion went online and found the same room for 2 people at a lower price!! Jose began to tell me if I book that reservation would not get my money back and I need to call Expedia and see what they can do about it. I was in disbelief at this point. Now I used to work in hotels (in NYC I was a director of sales and revenue) so I know for a fact that you can be a bit flexible with price when a guest is right in front of you, versus having them call the third party because the hotel ends up having to pay the third party commission. After 3 hours and the sun going down, I ended up paying the $200.00 just to check-in and get some rest!! Very long story short- I ended spending 3 hours on the phone with Expedia trying to have them resolve the issue only to be told the hotel "accommodations approval hours" were closed for the day and there was nothing they could do.     I forgot to mention my favorite waiter was the always fantastic Filiberto in Veranda at breakfast and lunch! He made my day with his awesome service and welcoming smile. Jacquelyn the hostess at breakfast and Enrique in Frida, Luis Mendoza at dinner in Veranda, Miguel poolside, Rodrigo at breakfast and my whale sighting friend, Max in lobby for taxi fetching, Israel the fantastic concierge, the entire Funtastic staff, Moses poolside waiter and lastly the wonderful waiter on beach/poolside duty who's name I fail to remember. Just the best! The other young hostess and Judith at breakfast! I have left out a few i am sure but everyone on staff was wonderful and very friendly and service was the best!

    Most of the time staff directed us to the wrong locations for eating and all were closed. the food quality was poor but the servers were really nice. The location was great and nice but we had problem with the service.

    We had a wonderful, relaxing time for the week we were there. In part because of the best restaurant staff. Especially, Gonzalo, Roberto, and Elizabeth. They were great a suggesting dishes, when I just couldn't decide. I was always pleased.

    Everyone was very friendly. Cleaning & sanitizing was above what was expected. Food was great! We had the most relaxing time just laying on deck overlooking the beautiful ocean while drinks were brought to us. We have never done all inclusive & it was totally worth it! If u can take a vacation now, I would as hotels & planes r not at full capacity yet.
