Very nice and well worth the cost. Rooms need better sound proofing as you could hear all comments from building lobby. Adults only option gave you privileges to other Pallidium resorts. Do the upgrade.

TRS Turquesa is the best resort in Dominican Republic. We have been there twice and are going back for a 3rd time next month because we enjoy it so much. Some of the staff that make the resort that much better is Butler Charli, Bartender Pedro & the unforgettable bartender Mabel. All 3 are wonderful people and are the reason we keep going back. The hospitality you will receive at this resort is better than any other.

TRS TURQUESA REVIEW Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana, DR AIRPORT ARRIVAL - Thank God we landed fairly early or customs would have been a disaster. We waited about 20 minutes on line. If we got on that line 10 minutes later it would have taken over 2 hours. That’s not an exaggeration. But our airport experience was a great one. Very smooth. Departure was great!! Got right through security. VERY clean airport. —————————————— TRANSFERS - we booked through Expedia. So, we actually also booked our transfers with Expedia. We used Expedia transfers two times last year and it was so smooth and easy! The same was for this trip. I have no reason to use anyone else. We were fortunate enough to be the only passengers in the van. In the return transfer we even realized that there was free WiFi in the shuttle!! —————————————— CHECK-IN - Check-in was smooth. We were able to sit in the lobby and have drinks from the lobby bar while we waited to be taken. The only thing that is a little annoying is they hit you up right away to try to sit with them to talk about timeshares. We avoided this at all costs. We were apparently given an upgrade Although I am not sure if our room is really an upgrade or not. They put us in the 5100 building right off the lobby. It is very convenient to get to everything from here! —————————————— BARS TRS Lobby Bar- The lobby bar is open 24 hours a day. It serves all premium drinks and coffee/espresso/cappuccino drinks. In the morning they also have pastries set up for a light breakfast. VERY convenient. Sports Bar - convenient place to go 24 hrs a day to get light food. Ice cream or drinks. In the evenings they do karaoke. They have a pool table and a foosball table. Hemingway - Definitely the best tasting drinks!! Nice Cuban atmosphere. Nice entertainment. Enjoyed this bar. Note that all lobby bars have some form of musical entertainment in the evening. —————————————— ROOMS - We had room 5104. Located just off the main lobby. Not sure what this room is considered. They told us it was an upgrade. Not sure how much it of an upgrade from the room we booked. But it was definitely in a very convenient location. The room was nice. It was clean. The A/C worked VERY well. The room was not damp or musty. It was also very spacious. There was a safe, a great clothing steamer and huge shower. The only problem was the remote for the TV did not work well and the bed was was very hard. The one big problem with our room was how noisy it was in the mornings. If it’s not housekeeping, it was the landscapers. They bang stuff around and talk at loud volumes. I had to complain to the front desk. It was resolved immediately. We had the opportunity to spend our first night hang out with friends in their swim out room. The room was not much different from ours on the inside. This was a preacher was nice. However, there is no swim up bar, it is furthest from the main pool and beach and not many people around. So it is a little boring and for that reason I am glad we did not spend the extra money on a swim up room. —————————————— THE GROUNDS - This is a HUGE property with about 3 or 4 other resorts. TRS is the only part that is adult only. It’s lush landscaping is meticulously maintained throughout the entire place! There are a lot of trees bushes and flowers throughout. It’s GORGEOUS!! You can hop on a shuttle at anytime to take you places that are not within walking distance. It is important to note that the small shuttles are for TRS only. They can take you directly to your point. Otherwise you are riding a large train around the entire property each time you want to go somewhere. This is something I figured out near the end of our trip. —————————————— BEACH - Gorgeous beach. The water is a gorgeous blue color. Fun waves, soft sand, very little seaweed (if any). I here are so many palapas on the beach. Easy to get one. Lots of beach to walk on. Vendors right on the beach just off property (if you like that sort of thing). The sand is BEAUTIFUL. If you pick up a handful it is literally pink!!! So soft too. The one thing about the ocean is that it’s totally different every day. There are usually decent waves. There are varying degrees of seaweed every day. Most days have been very little. —————————————— THE RESTAURANTS Helios - This is the first restaurant we went to when we arrived. We had lunch here after we checked in. It was buffet style inside. And barbecue on you can sit inside or outside. You can have your selection of menu, buffet and the outdoor barbecue. You can bring the BBQ back to your seat. The selection was nice and the food was good. El Dorado (Steakhouse) - went there for dinner one night. Just ok. Definitely not horrible. We got sick after that meal. We think it may have been the water. La Boheme (French) - The gryuere fondue was GREAT!! The salad bar had some good interesting items. The soups were nothing special. The lobster and scallops were horrible. Wish I would have gotten the Chateaubriand. Unfortunately, the Chateaubriand is for 2 and my wife had no interest. Carpicho - we ate most of our breakfasts here. It was quiet. Decent buffet selection. Some menu items as well. We enjoyed the fresh green juices. I had fresh mango every morning as well. We ate dinner here one night. My wife didn’t really enjoy any of the selections. They ended up making her linguine and scallops in a red sauce. It was ok but there were only 3 small scallops. I had the tomahawk steak. Being a true steak lover, I say it was just “ok”. I should have tried the churrasco instead. Kusko (Peruvian) - pretty good. The meals were interesting. Lots of good flavors. One thing we didn’t like was the seafood jelly. Just too greasy/fried. But everything else was pretty good. Loved the salmon sashimi!! Poseidon - open air restaurant. Went to the lunch buffet. Decent food. Lots of variety. Sorry we only went here once. Bamboo - our server, Mariana, was the sweetest most accommodating server of our trip!! She made dinner on our final night extra special! Very, very personable, friendly, extremely accommodating and enthusiastic. Just a total pleasure to be around!! She went over and above to make sure we got everything according to the way we wanted it. The food was very good. Room service - We met two other couples on our first day. That night instead of eating at a restaurant we all went back to one couple’s swim up room. We swam all night and ordered TONS of room service food for all six of us. The food came within the hour and it was all really good! —————————————— SPA AREA - WOW!! That’s all I can say about this! Of course, you can purchase spa packages which can get a bit pricey. What we REALLY enjoyed was the spa pool area which is open to EVERY guest!!! There is a huge pool with a separate jetted tub area, different hydrotherapy throughout the pool. A hot tub & cold dip area. Beds throughout the covered area. Loungers with umbrellas in the uncovered area. A mud area where you can use the therapeutic muds all over your body. Showers, ice room, steam room and sauna. EVERYTHING that you could want in a very tranquil environment. —————————————— ENTERTAINMENT- Nightly theater entertainment has been fantastic. They really go over and above to entertain. There was one night where they did not do entertainment in the theater because of the beach party. We chose to opt out of going to the beach party since we have been to so many of them over the years at other resorts. Poolside entertainment during the day. You don’t even have to leave the pool bar to watch entertainment every afternoon. There was a rock guitar player, a violinist, a saxophone player, singers (including a male trio and even a floating mermaid singer) and an aerial show. Something different every day. Kviar Casino - Definitely the lamest part of this resort. We walked through it a couple of times. Just not a vibrant casino atmosphere. They had a couple of games that I enjoy playing but I decided not to because it just seemed so boring in there. They need to do something to liven it up. Disco - we typically aren’t disco people anyway. We don’t go into them ever. The couple of times I popped my head in to see what it was like nobody was in there. It did seem like it would be a fun place if it was crowded and you like that sort of thing. Then there was Tuesday night right after the “Circo” show. All off the dancers went in there for a “Peace & Love” party. They were all dancing with the guests and having a great time. —————————————— NEGATIVES - The language barrier. We speak English. VERY difficult to communicate. We were fortunate to find some other Americans and Canadians to speak to. So many guests are also Spanish-speaking. Housekeeping leaves little to be desired. They are very inconsistent with when they show up and they miss a lot when it comes to cleaning up. We have to complain every now and then for us to get our room cleaned better. Mini bar re-stocker is a little relaxed on how often he actually shows up. The people trying to sell you the Travelclub is a bit of a nuisance. We just kept telling them no. We refuse to waste ANY of our precious vacation time to site in any presentation. They are ALL over the place. The drinks are very inconsistent. Sometime I think It’s due to the language barrier. There is no Malibu Rum. That’s what my wife likes. Their coconut rum is horrible. Their local rum, Brugal, is also horrible. The Brugal XV isn’t too bad, but not what I am used to. I like Jamaican and Puerto Rican rum. My wife and I ate or drank something that made us both sick st El Dorado. Not sure what did it to us. She was a bit worse off than me. I am wondering if it was the water at dinner in the steakhouse. We were told by one of the workers not to drink the water. But we were also told that the restaurant water is filtered. Think I’ll stick to bottled water. The music they play ALL DAY at the pool is dance/club/top 40. Even in the afternoon when they switch to a DJ in the middle of the pool a few days he plays the same type of music that they were playing at the bar. It makes no sense. I would like to hear tropical/reggae music. But that is a personal preference. The grout in the pool could use a good cleaning. The only hot tub is in the spa. —————————————— POSITIVES - Charlie, our butler, was fantastic! We did not utilize him all that much but he was always there for us when we needed him. Always staying in touch with us via WhatsApp and always asking us if we needed anything. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Security - I left our safe open when we left for dinner. Housekeeping locked it for us. We got back to the room around midnight. The security wasn’t on and when I told them my medicine was in there they immediately called the locksmith in. Dress code. There is no pressure to need to be overly dressed for any restaurant. I wouldn’t go looking like a slob but as long as you are neat, presentable and carry yourself in a decent manner there should be no issues. We have never felt the need to have to be forced to wear long pants in the Caribbean on vacation. I wore a button down short sleeved shirt, cotton shorts and cloth slip on shoes every night. I did not run into one issue. The poolside BBQ is a HUGE highlight!!! Steak, salmon, ribs, pork chops, paella, mussels, burgers and other stuff. No need to leave the pool to go to a restaurant. We had a bit of a housekeeping problem when we arrived. They were very responsive and rectified it quickly. We also had a noise problem outside our room the first two mornings. Once I complained, it was resolved. You can ALWAYS find something to do, eat or drink. Something is always open. Coffee, pizza, finger foods, etc. The bugs aren’t an issue at all. According to the website for the hotel, gratuities are included. However, if you go to the fans of TRS Turquesa fan page on Facebook most people encourage tipping. We did tip but we did not over-tip. We tipped a few bucks here and there. The bulk of our tips were given to the butler. There are no cats or other animals roaming the property. There is an adult only pool/bar open until midnight. The staff really seems to care about making sure your experience is a pleasant one. No kids. —————————————— SUMMARY - The good FAR outweighs the bad here. As long as the price stays affordable I can definitely see us returning. This place offers quality, selection and conveniences that resorts like Sandals don’t offer. And it comes at a much better price!! Bravo on Bavaro!!!

From the moment we entered the beautiful TRS lobby, we were treated with excellence. We were greeted by Wandy, the bellman, with a Big Smile. His positive welcome set the tone for our vacation. Special thanks to Walquidia Peralta, Room Division Director, Dionisio De La Rosa, Accomodation Manager Assistant, and Donal Valdez, Butler Supervisor, for making sure everything was set-up for us to have the Best Vacation. The Lobby bartenders, Frank, Luis, Manual and Virgilio always greeted us with a smile and they strive to give excellent service. In the evening, there is entertainment in the lobby. Gorky performed classics as a singer, pianist and horn player. Our Butler, Adris, assisted us with dinner and spa reservations. One evening when we returned to our room, Adris prepared a jucuzzi bubble bath with rose peddals leading from the door to the jacuzzi and peddals shaped in a heart on the bed. There was also a bottle of champagne on ice. A+ Customer Service. We had the Romantic Dinner on the Beach. Leandro was our waiter and he treated us with royalty. We also had dinner at the Caprice Restaurant. Juan Molina, the Supervisor of the Caprice, was wonderful. We enjoyed the Zentropia Spa which has a Modern Hydrotherapy Circuit. The TRS is SAFE and Welcoming!! We met Jose Luis Mejia, Director of the TRS Turquesa Hotel. He shared with us his value of Customer Service and we were impressed with his driven nature to satisfy the TRS guests. This is a great resort for a wonderful vacation.

It was beautiful here and everyone was so helpful. Charli was a wonderful butler. I am vegan, but I was always able to find options. The drinks are overflowing, and they’re always willing to bring you whatever you need- you don’t even have to leave the pool! I’d love to come again sometime. Be sure to watch the sun set!
