    An Experience in the Sun! Even with COVID

    The staff our just an amazing group! Even when I'm sure the workload has exploded with COVID, you could still see their smiling faces through their masks. This was my 5th time and I would not change to a different resort.

    Just got here yesterday and pretty positive my boyfriends phone got stolen from our room from housekeeping or another employee. We filed a complaint but turns out after talking to multiple guests staying here that this is a common occurrence here. There is no help when it comes to resolving the issue with customer service.. they won’t let us look at the lost phones that they acquired....

    We spent a week here and loved everything about it. Despite covid 19 restrictions and the fact that the resort was only 30% capacity, we enjoyed the people, the food, the excursions and everything else they had to offer. Lucio in the buffet was an absolute doll and went above and beyond for my family and I every single day, took the time to put together a. Nice little set up for my twins birthday and always had a smile and a positive attitude. Nelson at the brassier was also super accommodating and made us feel special whenever we ate there. The staff is amazing! We will be back next year Sarah

    5th time here. Staff are working their tails off but severely understaffed. Why they elected to open only the non-AC buffet is beyond me. Poor decision by management. Long lines at buffet for lunch are disappointing. Don’t expect usual Barceló service. Beach is beautiful. Rest of resort complex is a ghost town. Sad but highly encourage folks to come to support these hard working locals. Barcelo leadership just needs to have a bit more common sense. Mgmt opened AC buffets:-) thank u! Special shout outs to Raul in Club Premium, Fernando and Carlos in the ala cartes and Yashia in the hacienda buffett. Those guys are awesome and made the trip for our group of 27 memorable. Update: Raul in the Premium Lounge went above and beyond and provided us with the following: *exceptional customer service *accommodated our group of 27 with rooms near each other...hard to do during Covid *secured nightly restaurant reservations for “our group” when only a few were open due to Covid *gave us his personal cell and said to contact him anytime if we needed anything at all. Outstanding. Thanks Raul!!

    Pool bar staff, Angel and Alejandro were so friendly and got to know people and their drinks - Jonathan was our favorite all around - made our trip special by remembering us from years ago. Also loved the entertainment staff - made sure we had fun and lots of activities- pool side Zumba, aqua strong and yoga led my Morony, Marlon, Carlos, & Katie. All great, friendly and welcoming! Love this place and the staff here!
