    We absolutely loved our experience at The ElDorado Casitas. Staff was so friendly, helpful and polite. I was a little worried traveling post-Covid but, I felt safe, and was impressed by the staff's attention to keeping everything clean sanitary. We will be make FOR SURE!

    El Dorado Casitas is as good as gold!

    This was a great trip. There were a few minor issues that had their roots in the fact that the resort had been shut down for 90 days earlier in the year. Our concierges worked to fix these items quickly. Their supervisor, Paula, was also helpful in this regard when they brought her in to help. Every employee we saw worked hard, was friendly, and did a great job. However, I want to list a few really exceptional employees below: Fillipe, from the bell hop area Juan, at the Pericos bar from 9/12 to 9/29 Baldo, waiter at the Palms Wilberth from D'Italia Celestine, Wilberth (the same) and Isias from Cocotal. German from Kompai Juan (aka Juan Banana), Eduardo, and Amairani from Pericos Bar 9/15 to 9/25. While all 4 bartenders listed in this review are exceptional, Amairani makes an amazing Red Eye. Patricia Sanchez, our maid. El Dorado continues to impress with its great food and amazing service. I recommend them highly. Thank you all for a great vacation!

    We have been at this resort property several times. Our friends have joined us twice, and at our recommendation became members last year. We typically stay in the El Dorado Royale section, but with partial reopening during the pandemic we were upgraded to stay in the Casitas Room 2914. We truly enjoyed ourselves for this trip and the staff were outstanding in every way, making us feel very pampered! Of special mention: 1. Alvaro and Ivan as our butler team made sure we had everything we wanted in our room, from beverage choices, additional towels, ice daily at a specific time, etc. They checked with us several times a day, making it so relaxing for us. In addition, if we wanted pick-up for dinner reservations, they gladly arranged it at whatever time we needed. I had an issue with the Caribe photographers. Ivan especially went out of his way to bring the photographer over from the office in the Generations resort directly to me at poolside to resolve the issue! I can't say enough about how gracious Alvaro and Ivan were. 2. The food and service at all restaurants was very good, all waitstaff were exceptional. The one who stood out the most was JJ (Jesus) from the Haab's Indian restaurant. He was energetic, informative on the menu, suggested a family style sampling of many items (which we really enjoyed) and put together a beautiful selection of desserts for us. Plus he told stories and jokes. Really made the experience great. 3. Our concierge team was also very helpful. Maritza was especially helpful when we wanted to make changes for our dinner plans, transport for dinner, resolving issues and questions. She was cordial and helpful, answering some questions we even had about our next planned return trip in 2021. Andres and Jorge were also helpful and gracious. 4. Haxby in the activities team was very sweet and helpful. She checked in with my friend and I every day to update us and encourage us to join in the various activities. She led us on the bike tour and was very interesting in the information shared. We even got to release a lone baby turtle with her one morning. It didn't hatch at night as most do. The whole entertainment team was fun to be with for the weekly Friday 5K run/walk. 5. Caesar took good care of us every day at the pool bar, even running over to the restaurant to prepare fresh brewed iced tea for me several times! He was fun to chat with and made sure we were never thirsty! 6. The resort follows strict pandemic protocol. We felt very safe. See you all in 2021! Diane & Mark

    Another wonderful trip

    This was our third visit to El Dorado Casitas. Our stay was September 10th - 20th. We had booked last December through a 3rd party booking site. We discovered that in March the reservation was canceled without me knowing by my booking company. I contacted Maritza Aguille at the resort and she kept in constant contact with me until the issue was resolved. When I arrived at the resort, the first email I received was from Maritza welcoming me to El Dorado Casitas and wishing me a great vacation. Very thoughtful. We had a swim up room ( 3016 ). This was the first time with that type of room and we loved it! If you are able to upgrade to that type of room, I say that it it worth it. The resort is beautiful. So many hard working employees caring for the property. They always stop to say hello whenever a guest walks by. The food and the drinks were outstanding. Honestly, so many resorts have great food/drinks and beautiful grounds. It's the employees who bring us back to this property. Every employee we talked with throughout our vacation sincerely appreciated that we chose to come to Mexico during this pandemic. We felt very safe there. The only time you come in contact with other people is at the swim up bar and the shuttles on the property. If you want to keep your distance you can choose to get served a drink in a Bali bed or at a lounge chair. As for the shuttle, just tell a concierge and they will call for a private shuttle. Some of the workers who provided exceptional service while we were there are Leybert at the 3000 Casita pool section, Jorge and Edgar at the Bellini Bar, Ingrid and Jose at Sante Fe, Eliciazer at D'Italia Casita, and Maritza Aguirre for her outstanding customer service.

    Great experience but rooms need a small refurb

    We had a great experience on our honeymoon in the second week of September. The staff was so kind and accommodating. They wore masks and face shields the entire time. Your temperature was taken upon arrival and shoes and luggage sanitized. All menus were digital (QR code scanned) and hand sanitizer when you entered each restaurant. Absolutely loved the bail beds and Raul always bringing us towels and drinks! We could've stayed on the beach even longer than our 9-5 days. The food was good, just disappointed in the lack of desserts. I am a big dessert person and there wasn't a single dessert that stood out. They had an ale carte ice cream shop but it closed at 6 pm so when you want something sweet at night it wasn't open. Good thing we brought some snacks with us in our luggage to fulfill the craving! We stayed in a private pool suite in section 31 and the rooms were so dark! Once we got home and I showered in my own bathroom I realized how dark it truly was! Thankful I didn't miss any spots while shaving that week.
