Clean rooms, all have balconies facing a pool (two). Access road to beach is less than a block walk. Having towels/umbrellas/water available there from dedicated concierge was helpful. Was NOT crowded on beach (windy some days) and we were always able to have a front row chair. Staff are friendly. Easily walkable to tons of restaurants. Very nicely maintained grounds. Happy Hour at hotel in afternoon and light breakfast (breads, fruit, cereal) daily. Ran out of pool towels one day, but otherwise a terrific place.

Fantastic resort for rest & relaxation

First and foremost I have to say I highly recommend Villa Del Mar. I have travelled through the Caribbean and Europe but rarely if ever write reviews. I’m terrible for them but this place warranted a review and I always read them before booking so felt the need to contribute. I apologize if it’s long winded but I want to cover all the questions I had that weren’t answered. The beaches in Turks and Caicos are like nothing I’ve ever seen not even in Saint Martin, Cuba or the Bahamas and the hospitality at the Villa del Mar rivalled all my pleasurable Cuba experiences. The Welcome: I stayed at the Villa del Mar with my parents to celebrate my birthday over November 7-14. The property is beautiful and well laid out. We received a warm welcome from Toya upon arrival and a good explanation of the grounds and beach access as well as directions to our room. Hotel security is present on the grounds during the evening (which is when we arrived) making one feel safe (we felt safe the whole time-it’s a very great area) and it was well lit on the walk to the room. There are elevators. Which was nice as we were on the top floor in a 2 bedroom. The Room: We were upgraded to a two bedroom penthouse suite which was beautiful. More than enough room for 3 people with a beautiful kitchen equipped with everything you would need - fridge has an ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, silverware and dishes. The room has coffee, sugar and accessories provided. There are multiple TVs - one in each room and one in the main living area - we didn’t use them but they were there. Beds were beyond comfortable. Ceiling fans in each room and a patio with a dining table and 4 chairs along with 2 loungers. A wonderful place to have dinner and relax after a long day. Washer and dryer in the suite and laundry soap was provided. House keeping was wonderful and bath amenities were high quality. The Resort The staff is beyond friendly and will help with anything you may need. I read complaints about the cleanliness of the pool and will say I found no such issues. The pools were cleaned daily and heated. There were cushioned loungers around the pools that were always available. Clean towels were provided by the hot tub and only once when I went for an evening swim was there not a towel available; otherwise I had no issues with towels or the pools. The hot tub is lovely and there are 2 dials on the side that you turn to turn it on - that threw my mom off for a minute so I mention it - she thought it didn’t work but there are 2 dials on the post and the one closest to the bar turns it on the other one I’m not sure honestly but always turned it as well. There is a bar on site and it also doubles as the breakfast bar in the morning. It’s by the main pool. Bill is the bar tender and makes amazing cocktails - margaritas, pina coladas and Wednesday rum punch is deadly. Don’t forget to tip! It’s not necessary and they never ever make you feel that way at this resort but I always think it’s important to remember this is their way to earn a living. Wednesday night they have a meet and greet rum punch social by the main pool. It’s really fun - they provide snacks and music and free rum punch - be careful it’s strong! Bar closes nightly I think at 8 or 9 pm. This is not a party resort by any means. It’s quiet and great for a relaxing vacation or family vacation but not a party resort. The cost for a drink at the bar is about 12$ US and that’s super reasonable compared to most places. There is a free continental breakfast included each morning and it’s great - there are fresh warm pastries; croissants and chocolate croissants and banana bread along with bagels, cereals and hot coffee, tea, fresh fruit, juice and all the condiments- Jam, cream cheese, peanut butter. The lady who runs it each morning is helpful and friendly. There is no restaurant on site but the Grace way grocery is a 10 minute walk up the street - very easy to get to and has everything you need to make your own dinner. The prices are a bit high but the most costly items were snacks so I suggest you pack your own. Proteins such as meats and eggs were only a bit higher than Canada. Bring your own bag as they have paper or you can buy a reusable one. Also they don’t sell liquor on Sunday. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the resort- solana on the beach is 5 minute walk - competitive prices ( 22$ US burger and fries) beauty atmosphere, food and service. Grace Beach restaurant like 3 minutes away across the street - did not go there but looked good. Caicos Cafe was about 7 minute walk towards the grocery store; higher prices, French type bistro, great food and great service. The hotel staff is great if you need directions or recommendations or a car rental but anything you might need is within walking distance. The beach: When booking this resort I was concerned about beach access, rest assured it’s easy and fantastic. The road that needs to be crossed between the front of the resort and the path to the beach is small and quiet; it takes about 3 mins to walk from the resort through Grace Bay resort and to the beach. The path is through Grace Beach Resort but is clearly marked and easy to access. Once on the beach (it is as beautiful as the pictures) you will see the Villa del Mar section to the left. The two brothers who man the section are friendly and beyond helpful. There are towels provided on the beach(never an issue getting a clean towel), fresh filtered drinking water ( they have cups or you can bring a reusable bottle) and loungers - also never an issue with getting one. There is beach service - so you can pay to have drinks or snacks brought to you on the beach. There are foot washing stations on the walk back to the resort. Overall this resort was amazing, the staff was helpful and friendly and it provided everything you could want for a quiet, relaxing and beautiful vacation.

Read several reviews that complained about the cleanliness of the facility and less than happy staff. But there were enough good reviews that I booked here anyway. Front desk staff was pleasant, helpful and accomodating. Same for Breakfast and cleaning staff. Room was acceptable and included a washer/dryer combo complete with laundry detergent. Towels were plentiful and in near new condition. Sheets on the bed were so thin they almost only had one side and were nubby. Were changed only once during the 7 days of our stay. AC was one of these high wall units and took a couple days to figure out the symbols on the remote. After that it functioned okay. Breakfast was included and was the usual Continental package. Small pastry, English muffin, Bagels, Toast, Cereal, Coffee and juices. Also had yogurt and Banana bread and fresh fruit. About a quarter-mile to the beach which is accessed through the next door resort property. When you hit the Beach turn left and go a short distance to the Villa beach desk. There you will have lounge chairs and all the towels you need. Never had a problem with either during our stay. Attendant very pleasant and helpful. Water is provided there and you can get food and drink delivered.

My husband and I escaped for a long weekend and stayed here. It was perfect for that. I think it would have been great for a week-long vacation as well. It was very quiet and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room and all of the public spaces seemed very clean. It is not directly on the beach, but it is a very short walk. I think we would consider coming back with our young kids as well. We could walk to many restaurants, but it would be far for little kids so you would want a car if you were staying for a week or had children. The only area I thought was not stellar was the breakfast. It was fine especially since it was included for no extra charge but it was very basic. Cereal, sliced bread, some fresh fruit, a few pastries. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

Stayed @ Villa Del Mar on Grace Bay beach area second winter in a row:enjoyed it immensely again: great location- 5 minutes walk to one of the best beaches in the world; spacious suites with full equipped kitchen; huge balcony with table and chairs to have meals there, and we had breakfast & lunch there; 5 min drive to supermarket with all necessary foods; excellent service; abundance of towels; great bed that you need to climb on; super great front desk/ basically concierge service that book the best restaurants for dinners ahead of time daily and very friendly and helpful! Last year we went on snorkeling and scuba trip ; my husband & daughter do scuba with Provo divers. Weather is marvelous year around; upper 80s mostly; but there is constant very pleasant breeze from the ocean; and water is warm and feels like velvety and turquoise color! Paradise! We rented a small car and used it for to and from airport and going to remote restaurants like Magnolia that we loved; it’s wrong side of the road driving; former British colony. But there is abundance of restaurants nearby so you can use taxi for airport. But then it’s a problem for shopping without car! Taxi is expensive; restaurants are expensive; it’s expensive place! Airport is very outdated, small, not air-conditioned unfortunately! But this place is still worth the trip. We flew direct from Boston on Delta / 4 hours; easy!
