Old full of history and invaded witth cockroaches
Reviewed by Stefaan B(Nueva Andalucia, Spain) on Oct 30, 2020
Copy of the Breakers in Palm Beach but that is about it. Reception does not know the word customer service, looks like the IRS in the medieval ages. No credit for 1 night that we did not want to stay as cockroaches fell out of the ac. The carpet was probably 50 years old and the bath tub, yes more than 20 horses bathed there, grey no longer white. This is not a 2019 hotel but a 1940 hotel completely used and in need of a full refurbishment, so beside ocean terrace this is a real disaster !
Lovely hotel in old city

The hotel is nice. It's old but well-kept and clean. Each floor is a little different. We stayed in two different rooms (one at the beginning and one at the end of our Cuba trip). A/C worked well, plenty of room, nice bathrooms. Staff was always ready to help. The pool was nice. The restaurant for breakfast buffet had lots of options including filtered water.
Fantastic Hotel

We have zero complaints about this hotel. Yes it is old, but there is a ton of history there. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was phenomenal. Wait staff was attentive. Concierge was super helpful and called local restaurants to make reservations for us. Cigar shop was amazing. Mariela was our maid while we were there and she was so sweet and friendly and did a great job making sure our room looked great when we returned each evening. I highly recommend this hotel.
There's a fair bit of history and nostalgia in this famous Havana landmark.

This is an iconic Havana location, and not to be missed. There’s no problem about non-guests visiting, and you’ll probably want to stay for a drink anyway. It’s great to sit above the Malecon with a cocktail, which will cost little more than you’ll normally pay elsewhere in Havana. As well as taking in the views, take a chance to see the huge gun emplacements, with guns manufactured by Krupp’s still in situ. Inside the hotel be sure to visit the area dedicated to the numerous famous guests who have stayed at the hotel, including Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner. This room also includes statues of Compay Segundo and Nat King Cole.
Lovely, historical hotel

This hotel was amazing! What a great location. The restaurants were varied and delicious. Especially enjoyed the Churchill bar. The grounds are well kept and an easy stroll. Don''t miss the tunnel tour, with it's main area of historical maps about the missile crisis, to the interesting, twisting tunnels.
