Easter vacation

JjmSem (Otley, United Kingdom) on Apr 10, 2024

An amazing ten days at Sandals Barbados. Wonderful food and drink wherever we went, and friendly service from our favourite bar staff at the pool bar - huge thanks to Zebe, Sean, Anthea and Annick for making our stay so incredible! Definitely worth visiting this beautiful resort.

Best Sandals Resort

Tina R on Apr 08, 2024

We just returned from Sandals Barbados . It was our second visit to this resort. I can not say enough good things about our time there. The staff and management were great. I have a few food allergies and I notified them before arriving and they were accommodating and on top of it the entire time. The chef met with me upon arrival and went over my allergies and made sure that all restaurants knew about it and when I arrived to eat dinner each night, they prepared my food to perfection. They communicated with me each day to ensure that all areas of my stay were up to par. I highly suggest visiting this resort. It was beautiful and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was stunning and we were sad to leave. We will be returning next year. By far the best Sandals resort. WE have visited over 10 but love this one best.

Welcome Home Week 2024!

Caroline A (London, United Kingdom) on Apr 08, 2024

They just get better and better thanks largely to Dominique, Nikita and their Team. We have memories that will last us a lifetime thanks also to the American Tavern (Latoya and Denisha), Shaniece and Suzette who kept our room clean and tidy, Butch’s Steak and Seafood (Nakoda - Restaurant Manage), Butch’s Chop House (Darren - Restaurant Manager cover), American Tavern/Greenhouse/Jerk Shack (Patricia - Restaurant Manager), Southseas Pool Bar (Heidi, Alicia and Annette), Greenhouse (Anna and Dario), lastly but by no means least Tony for his incredible flying fish at the Oustins Fish Fry. You are all amazing.

Damp mouldy room. Not 5 Star

Robert J (Bromley, United Kingdom) on Apr 07, 2024

We booked a Butler Suite in Royal Barbados. On entering the suite there was a smell of damp. At first glance room looked ok. On further inspection the room was in need of decorating and maintenance. There was mould on the walls and ceiling. On the 2nd week some of my clothes had mould spurs on them. I came home with a chest infection. The room was often damp. Smelly and dirty. The hotel is nice, restaurants in the main are very good when you can manage to get a reservation. 50% of the staff are rude and miserable. Bar service was appalling with one server on most of the tine at most bars. Drug dealer on the beach. We had so many problems here. 3 times we were left without towels so could not shower before going out. House keeping weee useless and fobbed you off. The entertainment stage has no bar near it for drinks, nearest bar in lovers lane was slow with often one barman. This is not a five star hotel. 3 stars imo. Rude staff at the Infinity pool bar, Care de Paris and cake shop were shocking. The clamour and arguments over sunbeds is a huge issue Here. Non butler guests resent the butler guests and often move the reservation notices. Witnessed some tense arguments over this. Sandalls do not care. Most of the complaints i have made are common in the reviews, they say they will look into it etc but it carry’s on. Making guests ill through mould in the room is terrible. They offered me 10,000 loyalty points, then 30,000 points as final offer and closed my complaint. 2 week stay cost me $20,000 with flights and they insult me with an offer like that. Will never return here. Shane as it could be so nice if it was run better. Management have a n inspection day each week and during this tine the bar is full of happy dancing smiling busy staff, actually get service around the pool at this time too. Its a joke, as soon as they go, back to one or two miserable bar staff who often just point that your next with no verbal interaction. Nice restaurants: Bombay, Chi, French one. Butch’s. Schooners. Not good: Portofino And Spice( food not great miserable staff in both). All the rest are average with dry chicken and fish often served in most. Jerk shack the chicken was so dry i could not eat it.

Exceeded Expectations

FellowTraveler802693 (Canada) on Apr 06, 2024

We just returned from an eight night stay at Sandals Barbados and had an amazing time. A big shout out to our main Butler ShannaKay who made our vacation exceptional. This was our 11th Sandals trip, and she provided the best butler service we have ever received. There are many dining options between the 2 properties, and we found the food very good overall. Butches was fantastic and our only disappointment was American Tavern which was just OK. We were invited to the returning guest dinner which was held in Spices. As always, the food was great and it is nice to meet some of the management team. Our room, a Beachfront Penthouse One Bedroom Butler Suite w/ Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub was exactly as the website pictures depict. We found the housekeeping to be excellent and our room was usually serviced by noon. The mattress was extremely comfortable. There are so many pools, some are loud and full of energy while others are secluded and peaceful. The beach is also great, but you do need to be up early if you want chairs with sunshades. It is a public beach, so be prepared for a cast of characters trying to peddle their goods. We took advantage of snorkeling which was great. It is off-property, and they shuttle you about 30 minutes to an amazing dive site where you will see shipwrecks, fish, and turtles. In total, you are off the property for a few hours. We enjoyed seeing some of the island during the drive. The only thing that I didn’t like was the airport transfer is on a full-size bus that takes around 30 passengers. Your luggage is loaded into a separate truck, and you don’t see it until it arrives at your room. Maybe I am overly cautious, but I prefer to keep my luggage with me and in sight all the time. Thank you to ShannaKay and the entire team at Sandals Barbados/Royal Barbados for another great experience.
