The property is nice but somewhat outdated. The beach has eroded, leaving only loungers. The bathrooms were dirty and some switches and the bathtub looked stained. The food and drinks weren't impressive, except for the omelet line at breakfast and the grill at dinner. The a la carte restaurant was the highlight, but you only get one reservation. Lunch had a great view but the food was never hot. However, the rest of the staff, like Jesus and Marisol, were incredibly helpful and kind, making our stay enjoyable. The entertainment was good, and there are various facilities like a tennis court, spa, disco, kids club, and a late-night pizza buffet. Overall, we had a good time, but next time we'd budget more for food elsewhere and remember to bring bug spray and a swim shirt.

It’s one of the few quality resorts near the famous palancar reef which is among the best for diving The hotel is well architectured in a neo colonial style. Food is “authentically” good meaning that they make an effort to make cooked less “factory-like” and bland that is typically served in all inclusive resorts. In other words this is tasty food and we really enjoyed it Service is impeccable, they are diligent and ask proactively for stuff we might want We stayed as a family for 1 week and the only limitation was the lack of other children Note: it’s recommended to book using Barcelo website we could get a good price

Above average la carreta restaurant and staff. Below average rooms. Ac only goes to 22 c, refrigerator doesn’t work, shower gets cold, sheets are wet and stained. Bar service doesn’t exsist if you want to avoid the water (clearly a sewage system issue around the hotel) mattresses being pulled and moved from rooms and thrown around. All very dirty. Cleaning staff does a good job but you can only do so much from what you’re given. Mildew smell in the rooms.

This hotel is a lovely place I feel more for adults. It is nestled in a jungle setting with cute little creatures to make you smile. They have a lovely selection of food. They change it up daily and keep it fresh. The staff seems happy to be working there, which makes you feel like a welcome guest. it is about a 30 minute drive from the airport and the same distance away from town. However, I felt it was worth it.

Great place for a family vacation. pools are nice, the pier is good for scuba boat pickup. the food is good and plenty of time for eating. the landscaping is great. the towel service at the pool is good. the sunsets are amazing.
