Check in simple enough. Handed a refreshing drink. Room overlooking parking lot? Next time up sell me? You missed that opportunity but maybe seaside we’re all taken. You have to warm up to the natives slower pace. Only trouble was the Burger Beer Bar when I finally canceled the fish taco’s since he completely forgot to enter the order. The sushi in the great room from Lisa was the best from her smile, she remembered our names, room number and how we liked our martini’s made. She’s from the Philippines but if she get to the states, I got a job waiting for her. Beaches are well groomed and maintained. Shore Restaurant had a fantastic crab salad (soft shell crabs) that blend great flavors. Thanks for the great R&R and to Lisa. We’ll be back!

As soon as I saw pictures of the Santa Barbara Beach Hotel in Curacao I knew I wanted to stay there. The hotel has a beautiful inlet of beach where the water is calm and the sand is white. Each hole of their Championship golf course boasts the most picturesque setting. Just perfect for a pre-Christmas wind down. On arrival, I was impressed by the gated entrance, long and pretty drive through the old quarry and the grand lobby with incredible views of the ocean. From there, I wasn’t impressed much. At all. Our room was ok. It was the most basic room and it was quite large with a balcony. The bathroom was dated but I could live with it. We ordered room service and that was where the cracks started to show. Veggie burger - how wrong could it go?! I wish I’d taken a picture of the most disappointing and sad plate of food I’ve ever seen. Two falafels in a bun. It was awful. I wasn’t willing to pay for it but I had to put up a jolly good fight first. Breakfast wasn’t great. Food in general wasn’t great. We had some ok sushi and a nice meal at the Shore restaurant. The pool area was bizarre. We were given a towel card so that we could only take our allocation of towels and to ensure we returned them. SBB Resort take note - this is NOT the norm if you’re labelling yourself as a luxury hotel. Nor is a chained ‘reservation only’ on the cabanas (they were empty every single day btw). Our room never felt that clean. We got some sand in the bed on day one and it’s probably still there now. The duvet had a few spots of blood on it - yuck. The corridors also could have done with a daily mop. This could have been a great experience but sadly, it was lacking. My advice to SBB Resort would be: sell to some owners who know what they’re doing.

Wonderful golf resort! We loved our stay. Would highly recommend for a golf vacation. Curaçao was a very nice island that offered a lot of great places to eat. Recommend renting a car. We stayed in the Sea Traditions room which was amazing.

Excellent resort, but has some drawbacks

Many reviews have already been made of this resort, but there are still comments that deserve to be made. The location on the island of Curacao in superb, but it is located too far from the main attractions. I chose it because I had always wanted to visit Curacao, but I found the prices to be too high, especially for all-inclusive resorts of which there are very few. The price in this case was reasonable, even though I had to rent a car. People who had been there before told me that the all-inclusive was not worth the price. The rooms were clean, and the food was good. The beach was limited, although the pools were great, especially for children. I probably will not come here again for the reasons I have mentioned, but it did give me the opportunity to visit beautiful Curacao.

Good for a few days but not 7 nights

My husband and I spent 7 nights and celebrated the New Year at the SB. We stayed in a Santa Barbara Suite which was basically a room connected to a parlor suite so technically we occupied 2 rooms with 2 room numbers. I wouldn't do that again just because you had to make sure you had the correct key to enter, if the room phone rings in the bedroom and you're in the parlor you have to run to the bedroom phone, if someone knocks in the parlor and you're in the bedroom, you have to run from one room to another, etc. All-in-all very annoying! Property: I highly recommend you rent a car in advance. The property is at least 20 minutes away from everything…activities, restaurants, city centre, etc. However, if all you plan to do is layout and enjoy the pool and the beach and dine onsite then no need to rent a car. The entrance to the property alone is a few miles from the actual hotel entrance. Parlor: Had a wet bar w/ Nespresso type coffee machine, bar sink, fridge, hot water pot, instant coffee packets and pods. Sofa seemed like a sofa bed since as soon as we sat on it you can hear the springs so it was not the most comfortable seat. As another posted the TV would stop working and we had to reboot it several times. Internet not even just spotty VERY WEAK! Perk…full single sink bathroom with door and had its own balcony facing the water. Bedroom: Full single sink bathroom with curtain separating entrance hallway and pocket door to toilet. You get more privacy in the Parlor bath. Balcony facing the water but not connected to Parlor and balcony wall separates Parlor from Bedroom. Beach/Marina: If you don't want to experience the loud music that comes from the marina at times I would recommend that you request a room away from the marina. That area is where all the action happens. Plenty of loungers and space to hang but the beach is more for those who want to wade in the water or have little kids. Service: OUTSTANDING across the board. From housekeeping, servers, front desk, bell boys, etc. So friendly and accommodating. If you hear service is slow, hello…you are in the Caribbean…things run different in other countries and not everything is so fast paced. Onsite restaurants: MEDI is sufficient for breakfast and yes, pay $15 USD/person in advance for buffet breakfast since it's a whopping $25 USD/person onsite…worth it. And if you visit during peak season you will wish to eat buffet rather than order since it can be a wait. Lunch is a limited menu but sufficient also if you don't want to sit outside. Dinner too is a limited menu but sufficient to try for a night. SHORE we tried for NYE dinner and it was pretty good not outstanding and for the price I would go elsewhere. BELLA ITALIA (see separate review) was always a very long wait. Best thing to do is order pizza ahead of time. We avoided the wait by just getting their gelato. But convenient to have onsite. SPLASH we never attempted since it was always full of pool peeps when we tried to go. BURGERS & BEERS had wood picnic benches readily available and they also serve beach goers so can be a wait if you are starving. Burgers were pretty good but the only downfall is you cannot keep an open tab. Every time you ordered more you had to pay at the time of ordering. Gym: Was not big enough for the size of the property. Worst of all is that there was no age limit so parents would bring in their little kids and have them use the treadmill and other equipment which IMO is very dangerous. I highly recommend that they place an age limit to use the gym since little kids can get hurt or hurt others. BEWARE FOR ENTIRE ISLAND there are Noseeums. Mosquito like insects that bite like mosquitos but worse because they’re almost invisible and leave a nasty bite. All-in-all it was nice to have visited and stayed at the SB but would not do it again and would choose to stay at either Mambo Beach or downtown. Service was what really gave it a 4-star rating.
