    Not my favorite Disney hotel

This was our second stay at Disneyland. The first time around we stayed at the Disneyland hotel. This trip the Disneyland hotel was too expensive so we opted for the Paradise Pier hotel. I wish we would have splurged and paid the extra $200 for the Disneyland Hotel. While the hotel amenities downstairs were nice, the room was very small, and not kept up well. The pool was a huge disappointment. It was so small, it did not accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. There was nowhere for the kids to move and they wanted to leave almost immediately. The only positive to share was the proximity to the parks and the Disney theme. I would highly recommend upgrading and staying at the Disneyland hotel- it is absolutely worth the extra money!

    Celebrating Sweet 16 in Disneyland!

Our daughter turned sweet 16 in August, and the only place she wanted to go was back to Disneyland. This was our 4th trip to Disneyland, and we have stayed both at the Paradise Pier and Disneyland Hotel and enjoyed our stays each time. We always stay in the park, it is so nice to go back to your room and get rejuvenated and take a break. We had great dinners at Labrea Bakery and Catal, Catal had a photographer taking photos and we went home 2 great Family photos. The electrical parade and amazing fireworks show completed our Disney Vacation. After all of these trips, we stopped at the Jazz Kitchen Express for Beignets (why did we not do this before)? Great Vacation, we "played" hard for 2 days and were able to see all of the things that we wanted to.

    Oogie Boogie Bash

We had a great time attending the Oogie boogie bash last night. We checked in early to the Paradise pier Hotel and was upgraded to a theme park view room. We had recently stay at the Disneyland Hotel and the grand Californian Hotel. After staying at all three of these resorts in the last six months I would say that the hotel room definitely needs quite a bit of upgrading. The carpet is very old and the bathroom floor and showers could definitely use some new tile. We did have a great time at the Donald breakfast buffet this morning. The kids enjoyed having the swimming pool and waterslide all to themselves for a while. We had so much fun at the bash last night going on rides with five minute wait times and collecting tons of candy. Overall I would pay more money to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and the grand Californian Hotel until the Paradise pier rooms have been renovated. They had excellent service at the front desk and very friendly staff, But for almost $400 a night we could’ve stayed at another hotel with nicer amenities.

    An Unexpected Pleasure

We booked the Paradise Pier expecting nothing special but were quite surprised at the experience that we had. Located adjacent to the California Adventure park (but opposite the entrance) as well as close to Downtown Disney the hotel is the least expensive bed-for-the-night of the 3 Disney hotels on the property. That said, staff are very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant (had a buffet breakfast) is appealing, and who can't get excited when Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse stop by for a cuddle? There are a few things which could be made better, most notably making guests walk all the away around and through Downtown Disney to access the entrance to California Adventure. It seems to me that there's very little reason not to allow any Disney guest access to that park via the Californian's "special" entrance. The pool could be heated, thank you very much and pool safety rules really should be enforced. All in all, if you've got the bucks to spend staying on Disney property, give Paradise Pier a go and give yourself a little more pocket change to spend inside the park(s)

I took both my daughters and their family (my grandchildren) to Disneyland and thought it would be nice to stay close and be on the property for convenience for my grandchildren. The Disney experience was wonderful. They gave us joining rooms which I really appreciated. My grandchildren were so excited to see all the Disney things and we had a view of California Adventure land. The only reason I didn't give 5 dots was that the Micky Mouse cartoons they were showing on the TV loop were the new ones, not the classic old ones which I though would be much appropriate. Great experience though and I would love to stay there again.
